James 1:5 If we are to take 1 Thessalonians 5:17 seriously, then prayer is not just an occasional indulgence but a way of life. It is how we communicate with God and should be as practical and consistent as our daily routine. However, it's not always easy to keep up with this commandment, especially when faced with the challenges and distractions of everyday life. In evaluating our prayer lives, we must ask ourselves how practical and consistent they are. For example, are we only praying when things go wrong, or do we make time for prayer even in times of peace? Do we pray just for ourselves, or do we also intercede for others? How much effort do we put into our prayers - is it just a casual mention, or do we really pour out our hearts to God? Whatever you do, I want you to choose a person in your local church or Pastor to pray for today, using the examples of prayer

"Continue in prayer, and watch in it with thanksgiving." Colossians 4.2 Yes, the Bible, especially the epistles, is a book that teaches believers about all that Christ has done. It tells of His redemptive work. It explains in detail all that happened from the cross to the throne. Yet in it are instructions for the New Testament believer. As it speaks of who we are, it also speaks of what we can do because of who we are. We derive our identity and our conduct from the same. A mere purview of Paul's letter, for instance, shows you the manner in which the apostles wrote. They wrote the first part of the letter to tell of all Christ has done for you, who you are in Him, and what you have because of Him, and now ends with instructions on how to live the Christian life. One of those many instructions in the scriptures is the instruction to pray. Prayer is so evidently taught in the scriptures; it will take sheer disobedience not to do the same. Happiness, joy, and contentment are becoming a scarce commodity. Many people even believe that Happiness is a mirage. But is there something as true Happiness? Yes! Romans 14:17 – "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." Philippians 3:1 – "Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed, is not grievous, but for you, it is safe. We, as Christians, are supposed to be joyful and happy. The joy, as accounted for in the scriptures, is not the earthly kind of joy. Luke 10:17-20. It is a disaster if the demons are subject to you on earth and your name is not written in heaven. Revelation 20:15, Exodus 32:32-33. Happiness is not something you stumble upon

"Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am." John 8:58 As we look up into the night sky, we can't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder. The vast expanse of space is home to countless stars, each with a unique story. But among all these celestial bodies, one name stands out: Jesus. Who is He among the stars? How does His divine nature fit into this infinite universe? Jesus represents something beyond our understanding of time and space. He is the embodiment of love and grace, unbound by earthly constraints. When we consider Jesus with the stars above us, it's important to remember that He is not limited by physical boundaries or limitations. It's easy to feel weighed down by guilt, shame, and regret for past mistakes that we've made. But through Jesus Christ, we can find a path to redemption and forgiveness. His sacrifice on the cross cleanses us from our sins and makes us righteous in God's eyes. With Jesus as our guide, we can live through greatness and bless those around us with love and compassion. God's love shines brightly upon us when we accept Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life that leads us toward salvation. Therefore, let this devotion be a reminder that no matter what sins or struggles you may face right now, there is always hope for a better tomorrow in Christ Jesus. "For in Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:2 The Bible verse in Romans 3:22-24 reads, "This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." This verse explains why Jesus made us righteous. It's not because of our efforts or good deeds but His sacrifice. In essence, we were all sinners who fell short of the glory of God; however, when we put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, He justified us freely by His grace. This means that even though we didn't deserve it, He made us righteous by taking on our sins upon Himself at the cross. Therefore, we can stand before a holy God without any guilt or condemnation hanging over us. As stated in Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnatio

" Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own, zealous of good works." Titus 2:14. Anyone who studies the gift of God's righteousness in Christ will come to that moment when you are left in awe of all God has done. As you reflect through several scriptures and see the depth of God's forgiveness, His relentless love always causes you to bow your heart, lift your hands, and extol His name in worship. Forever the importance of Christ's sacrifice will always be a beauty to behold, a place of refuge and comfort, and the believer's assurance. When all else fails, Christ's love will stand true. This is so because the King, our Lord Jesus Christ, has conquered death, defeated sin, and reigns victoriously at the Father's right hand (in the believer today). The writer to the Hebrews puts it this way, 'But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God; For by one

"Do you not know that all the runners run in a race, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it." 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 Setting goals is essential to success in any area of life. Whether you're aiming to advance your career, develop new skills, or improve your personal life, having clear and well-defined goals can help you stay motivated and on track. Read 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. However, it's important to remember that not all goals are created equal. To be effective, there are three major characteristics that your goals should possess: clarity, realism, and impactfulness. Firstly, clarity is key when setting goals. In the book Habakkuk 2:2, we see a great example of how having clear goals can lead to success. The verse says, "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it." In order words, your objectives should be written, specific, and easy to understand so that you know exactly what you're working towards. This me

"Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD." Psalm 27:14 Waiting Upon the Lord is like a farmer waiting for the rain to come and water his crops. He knows he cannot do anything to make the rain faster, but he must trust that it will come in God's timing, even though waiting upon the Lord goes beyond praying and expecting the answer to our prayers. But our action must be deliberate and aimed to draw the attention of God to the present situation or matter at hand because everything we do must involve seeking the face and mind of God over an issue for instruction and direction. Therefore, waiting upon the Lord requires patience, persistence, consecration, and a high level of sensitivity. And the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon

"For our sake, he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians 5:21 Philippians 1:11 states that we are to be "filled with the fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God." This verse reminds us that we cannot earn God's righteousness through our efforts. No amount of work or labor can make us worthy of being in God's presence. Instead, only through faith in Jesus Christ can we obtain this righteousness. And be rest assured knowing that your salvation is secure in Christ and work towards becoming more like Him out of gratitude and love. We often fall into the trap of believing we must do something to earn our salvation. We think that if we just work hard enough, obey all the rules, and perform good deeds; then we will have earned God's favor. But this is a flawed perspective because it emphasizes our abilities rather than what Jesus has already done for us. Salvation is a

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit." Titus 3:5   As a Christian, it is important to remember that our righteousness does not come from our good deeds or actions. Rather, it comes from the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Today's verse from Titus 3:5 reminds us that it can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking that we are righteous because we do good things for others or attend church regularly. However, this type of thinking is flawed and ultimately leads to pride and self-righteousness. Beyond their covetous lifestyle and wrong interpretation of scripture, a major challenge He had with them was their self-righteousness. Psalm 139:14 As human beings, we are often conditioned to measure our worth in terms of how much money we make or how successful we are in our careers. But the truth is that our worth cannot be defined by what we can do for a living or how much money we have in the bank. We all possess unique individual talents that cannot be priced, and these gifts within us make up our true worth. In Matthew 10:29-31, Jesus reminds us that not even a sparrow falls to the ground without God's knowledge and care. If God cares about each sparrow, which has little monetary value, then surely, He cares about each one of us infinitely more. Our worth is not determined by what we can offer others financially or materially but rather by who we are as unique individuals with diverse talents and abilities. When you make God the center of your life, everything else falls into place. Your thoughts begin aligning with His truth, leading you towards positivity rather than negativity. With God at the center of your life, you start seeing yourself through His eyes - as a beloved child of God with a unique purpose on this earth. You also become more compassionate towards others as you see them as fellow children of God. Making God the center of your life is not just a religious thing. It's

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." John 16:33   Transforming your mind and making God the center of your life requires a conscious effort on your part. But the rewards are immense! When you allow God in your life, you will experience peace, joy, and fulfillment that surpasses all understanding. Therefore, you must be willing to do your part because when someone knocks at your door, you either give access by letting the person in or deny access by refusing. No one comes to your abode without consent; otherwise, the person is a thief, and any trespasses on your property are against the law.   God understands your will and choice, but He requires and expects you to let Him do whatever He wants to do. Philippians 2:13 says, "For it is God who works in you to will and to act to fulfill his good purpose." This means that when you surrender to Him, He will guide you toward His perfec

"Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other." Isaiah 45:22 Running to God is the ultimate solution for all your problems. When you feel like everything is falling apart and there's no one to turn to, God is always there waiting for you with open arms. He'll love you through it all, no matter how broken, lost, or hopeless you feel. God's love is unconditional and unfailing. It doesn't matter what mistakes you've made in the past or what challenges lie ahead of you; His love will never waver. Running to God means surrendering yourself completely to Him and trusting that He has a plan for your life. Even when things don't go as planned, He will guide you toward a path that leads to greatness. Running toward God takes courage and faith, but the rewards are immeasurable. When life seems overwhelming, there is always a reason to hold on and keep going. The verse from Romans 8:28 further reinforces this message of hope and resilience. It tells us that

"Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him since he always lives to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25 Running to God is the best decision one can make. With open arms, He welcomes us into His loving care, and we are never alone. Today's bible verse assures us that no matter how far we've gone or what we've done, Jesus will always be there for us. It can be easy to forget that God is always with us when life gets tough. However, if we remember that He's always there waiting for us with open arms, it can bring a sense of comfort and peace. His love and grace are infinite, which means nothing we do or say could ever push Him away from us. When you feel overwhelmed and need a safe place to turn, remember that your Father, high above the stars, will hear your prayers of hope. Clear your mind of distractions, focus on God's word, and ask for His guidance as you enter the prayer room. Secondly, approach God with humility and reverence as you speak to Him through prayer. "And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart." Luke 18:1 As believers, we are encouraged to pray without ceasing and to present our requests before the Lord. However, we must always remember that prayer is not a monologue but a dialogue with God. He desires to hear from us, and it's His delight when we confidently come before Him. In Matthew 7:24-25, Jesus spoke about building our lives on a solid foundation. He likened it to building our house on the rock instead of sand. We can apply this same principle to our prayer life by building our confidence in the foundation of Christ. However, when we have faith in God and believe He hears us when we pray, we are assured that our requests will be granted. Our faith switches off doubt and fills us with hope. When we pray to God with a pure heart and strong faith, He listens attentively. The Bible tells us that if anyone asks for anything according to His will, it will be given to them. This means that if
