Protests are planned in Tel Aviv on Friday, when the first line in the Tel Aviv metropolitan light rail system is due to begin operations, over the decision not to let it operate on the Sabbath. Former Israeli ambassador  to the United States and former Knesset Member, Dr. Michael Oren has written a book “2048: The Rejuvenated State.” Presenting the book to President Yitzhak Herzog, earlier this month, Ambassador Oren explained that the book, published in Hebrew, English, and Arabic in one volume, incorporates his vision for a prosperous, secure, and unified State of Israel on the country’s centenary. The Israel Police’s chief rabbi has brokered an arrangement under which  Hasidic followers of Rabbi Eliezer Berland will not worship at the Catholic Stella Maris monastery in Haifa until after Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year. The Hasids claim that Elisha the Prophet is buried on the site.    Church officials were angry over the deal and said that no negotiations must be held with the "squatters."    Haifa Mayor Einat Kalisch Rotem also spoke out against the proposed arrangement and said: The church belongs to the Christians, period.  Father Jean Joseph Bergara, the monastery superior of Stella Maris, told us the claims of the followers of Rabbi Berland are not true and the remains of the Biblical prophet Elisha are not at the site and therefore Jews  should not be allowed to pray at  the monastery.  Father Jean Joseph Bergara first explained the history of the Stela Maris monastery. Terrorist operatives from the Jenin area said that they fired at a rocket at the Shaked settlement  in northern Samaria. They posted a picture of a rocket in a launcher. The IDF found the launcher  and believe the rocket exploded at the site during the  launch. The rocket was of low quality with a small quantity of explosives. Gunmen from the Al-Ayyash battalion linked to Hamas claimed responsibility, in the 5th such incident in recent months.  Res Maj Gen Uzi Dayan was deputy IDF Chief of Staff and is currently Chair of Mivtahi-the Forum of National Commanders. Thirty council heads from Israeli Arab communities  demonstrated  in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem on Sunday, protesting  Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s decision to withhold transferring 300 million shekels  to local Arab municipalities. The council heads  called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to intervene  and to immediately transfer the money. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich is a racist and should resign for his move to block government funding to Arab authorities. The security cabinet has delayed implementing  relief measures for the Palestinian Authority, among them permission to build an industrial zone in Tarkumiya, easing procedures at the Allenby Bridge crossing and transferring half a  billion shekels in withheld tax funds to the PA.   Finance Minister Smotrich and National Security Minister Ben Gvir expressed their outrage at giving relief measures at the current juncture.PM  Netanyahu responded by saying that it was imperative to stabilize the Palestinian Authority.
