"The influence of the kingdom of heaven on the earth is greater than the influence of the opposition!" Do you believe it? Do you believe that what God is doing in the earth is greater than what the opposition is doing? The devil has no delegated authority in our lives. He only has permissible authority. Unless we allow and agree and deliver our authority to the devil - he has no right. He has tactics and strategies, but when we stand up in our Kingdom authority it stops him. We've got to exercise our authority. The presence of authority alone doesn't stop anything. It's authority that's exercised that stops things. Jesus didn't come to earth to gain authority for himself over death, hell and the grave. He came to get authority for us. Our general mission in life is to influence culture with the kingdom of God. The way we do that as individuals is unique but the mission still remains the same. When we are influencing the world around us we are making disciples. We are ambassadors for Christ and we have a responsibility from God to bring His Kingdom and the reconciliation of Jesus to our people groups – nations – our walk with the Lord should reflect the responsibility that He has given us. We are called to be in the world – and our mountain of influence – not of the world. As the body of Christ, we should lead the world not avoid it! Some of Jesus’ parting words to the disciples in Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” it is a call to a mission of obedience and authority. It is not arrogance to operate in the authority given to you by Jesus it is negligence not to! There will people along the way that will doubt you and the things that God has done, but the focus should be on individual obedience, not universal acceptance. When you live as a disciple you begin to influence and transform the culture around you. Live your life in such a way that it disciples those in your circle of influence! We have to be connected to our true authority – God- to know the authority that has been delegated to us. Sometimes as believers we don’t walk in authority because we are waiting on God to do something that He has already delegated us to have the authority to do. God is the only one who can delegate His authority. His authority and His truth is never up for debate! Jesus came to the world with a mission. He was anointed to save the lost, preach the gospel, heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, restore sight to the blind, and bring liberty to the oppressed. Just like Jesus we need to know our mission when we are engaged in a spiritual battle. When we know our mission and what we are anointed for we have something to offer those in need. Wherever we are in life or wherever the decisions we make take us, God will always repurpose us for Him. God’s gifts and calls for us are never cancelled! Jesus takes the gifts and callings that He has given us and repurposes and reprocesses them. He does not repurpose us just for Him but also for us to reach the people around us. Jesus has made liberty available to us but there are times when we have to defend that liberty. We are not fighting to make available but fighting to defend what Jesus has made available! We should not be intimidated by the freedom of others – even though we may disagree - we should be empowered by it! Jesus is the perfection of liberty. We are the progression of liberty. To progress in the liberty that has been given to us – through Jesus - we first have to define liberty, declare liberty, and defend liberty. It was made available when He died on the cross for us, but we have to take hold of it for ourselves. Jesus is the only one that can provide us with true freedom and liberty. The extent we’re connected to Jesus is the extent we will have liberty. Our freedom is not attached to our own independence but attached to our dependence on Jesus. The culture of heaven is family. When we are born again we are invited into that family! We have Christ within us and when we view ourselves as sons and daughters of God He creates a healthy family – body of Christ – through us and with us. God longs to do thing through each of us! We need to view people as our brothers and sister through Christ not as sinners or we will never have system that values their reconciliation and redemption. In Christ you are FREE, because He made you free. LIBERTY is available to every person no matter your race or gender - EVERYONE! It's available for you to take and apply. God gives us the ability to choose to apply His Liberty. You can't experience it, if you don't apply it. God loves you whether you embrace Him or reject Him. Our Liberty that God gave us - comes in connection and requires us to love and serve one another. Don't use your freedom in Christ to get out of "loving your neighbor as yourself." The truth brings us freedom. Lies and deception entangle us in bondage. When we stand fast, hold our ground, in the truth of God’s word, we have liberty. Race, status, and gender are on the same playing field in Christ. They are all equal in opportunity and equal in need. We all need a Savior! Though we are all equal in Christ, oppression, and injustice still happen in our world today. We have to acknowledge the injustice that happens in our society even if we have not contributed to it. Racism and injustice cannot be in Christ. “And we no longer see each other in our former state – Jew or non-Jew, rich or poor, male or female – because we’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us.” Galatians 3:28. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and WHERE the Spirit of the Lord is, THERE is LIBERTY. When we are filled with Holy Spirit, we have liberty in our life. As we live in unprecedented times of social distancing we are far more removed from people than we have been in the past. Though we are not able to gather together as a community God is still drawing near to us and moving in our world in a unique way. He has hit the pause button in our lives and invited us to lean in and draw close to Him again. We have more time to be engaged in His presence and hear from Him than ever before, all we have to do is accept the invitation that He has placed before us. God is not a socially distant God! What is your focus on? Distraction from the promises of God and the places we are going can keep us from overcoming. If we focus on the promises of God above all else we can partake from His promises! What we focus on is what we partake from. When we know what God’s promises in our lives are we have to pursue them. When we reach our inheritance, promise, we have to possess it. The promises of God are given to us by His grace but possessed by our faith. When we have the word of the Lord in our hearts we can speak with confidence that we will overcome! The opposition that we see may be great but He who is within us is greater. The word of the Lord helps us to have the spiritual stamina to endure the process of overcoming. We have to drive out the opposition with confrontation. When we are faced with real-life hardships and circumstances we can choose to, passively accept a life that is less than what God has intended, or we can fight to overcome the opposition to live the best life God has for us! The process of overcoming evil – negative actions, thought patterns or negative things that have been said or done to us, etc. – with the goodness of God creates opposition. “Good” is not just an option for behavior but a weapon in your arsenal! Why will we overcome? Caleb was certain that the one – God – who was WITH them could overcome. He was certain of the ability, the power, the might to endure and prevail that came from partnering with the Lord.
