  • EMB #589: Why Gyms are a Recipe for Failure

    02/04/2023 Duración: 30min

Today we are talking about why the gym is a recipe for disaster. When I say gym, I'm talking about conventional gyms. I'm going to talk about the history of gyms, which could be a bit boring for some, but I'm only going to touch on that for a moment. I'm going to tell you why gyms don't conventionally work for the average person, although there is a very small amount of a very small percentage of people that a gym could actually work for.  And then I'm going to tell you what you need instead to see the results you're looking for.

  • EMB #588: Create a Deep Connection with Yourself

    26/03/2023 Duración: 30min

https://youtu.be/U6iR4QO8_sA Tarun is the founder of Adios and Venus. Adios is a mental wellbeing company that enables you to improve your clarity of thought and peace of mind through a regular habit of Contemplation.  If you live your life largely looking outward and not inward, you may not create a deep connection with yourself, so you may make decisions that seem exciting in the short run but may not be right for you in the long run. A regular habit of Contemplation on the Adios principles keeps your connection with yourself strong and you can make the right decisions by using your Adioscope - your personal microscope for life. Venus enables you to find a meaningful relationship by finding yourself first. The Venus approach is that a meaningful relationship does not start with finding the right person. It starts with finding yourself. It starts with becoming the right person.  Venus has a three step process: 1. Find Yourself 2. Find a Friend 3. Find a Partner In that order.

  • EMB #586: How to See Results Without Dieting

    14/03/2023 Duración: 30min

Today we're going to be talking about dieting. So it recently occurred to me that so many people believe in dieting, which is why they don't start to begin with. • EMB #585: How to See Results Working Out Less

    06/03/2023 Duración: 30min

Many people believe that in order to get fit, they must spend countless hours in the gym, working out like a bodybuilder. However, research has shown that this is not necessarily true. In fact, 25-minute workouts can be just as effective, if not more effective, in achieving fitness goals than longer workouts. Here are some reasons why you don't need to workout for hours at a time like a bodybuilder and how 25-minute workouts are more effective in seeing results. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a form of exercise that involves short bursts of intense activity followed by brief periods of rest. HIIT workouts typically last between 20-30 minutes and have been shown to be highly effective in burning fat, increasing cardiovascular endurance, and improving overall fitness levels. HIIT workouts also require less time than traditional cardio workouts, making them a convenient option for people with busy schedules. Increased Metabolic RateResearch has shown that

  • EMB #584: The Forgotten About Macro: Antioxidants/Fibre

    26/02/2023 Duración: 30min

Most people don’t consider the health benefits when it comes to veggies, which is exactly what this category is. Just before this section I did talk about vegetables but let’s offer a slightly different angle to help you understand the importance here. The reason we call it the forgotten macronutrient is because many people actually and literally forget about it. What’s for dinner, ‘steak and potatoes’. What about a roast, or even ‘fried chicken’, and how about a ‘fish and chips’. Those are all staples in the SAD (Standard (North) American Diet). When is veggies listed, almost never likely because it makes kids and adults skin crawl all the same Most likely because many didn’t grow up with veggies being a staple in their diet. Most people don’t know how to buy, prepare, or even store vegetables. Lucky for you, if you didn’t learn that growing up, you’ll be going through this program to teach you exactly that. As of more recently a plant based diet has been gaining positive exposure and momentum in

  • EMB #583: Where do you get your protein from?

    19/02/2023 Duración: 30min

Protein is probably the most difficult macronutrient to discuss simply because we all grew up a certain way and to try and change the thought process is extremely difficult. I’m not trying to change your thought process here, more so, I’m trying to show you that it doesn’t always have to be a certain way simply because that’s what you know. We can get protein from different sources other than from meat or animal sources. But first let me explain the levels of protein and how I suggest we choose. When it comes to most food, I like to take the utilization approach. So when it comes to these foods let’s talk about how our bodies process them.In this order I’d suggest considering what ‘proteins’ you’ll add to each meal to make sure you have a complete macronutrients profile. Eggs Fish Chicken Turkey Red Meat Ok so from the list above we can see how I suggest we make our choices and in this case that’s from top to bottom and here is why. Eggs, especially egg whites, process very qui

  • EMB #582: Carbs: Eat This Not That

    12/02/2023 Duración: 29min

Carbohydrates often get a bad wrap because of the new diets out there where people try to avoid carbs all together. It’s extremely difficult to avoid carbs all together. Which makes restrictive diets that request few or no carbs at all seemingly impossible to follow. Think about it, we have carbs in the morning for toast, oatmeal, french toast, or pancakes (which is usually created with a wheat product). Then we often have a sandwich for lunch or a roll with a side salad. And it’s no different when it comes to supper. Which often includes pasta or pizza night, baked potatoes or another type of roll. Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t do that. I’ll explain shortly that I believe carbs are a good thing if you pick the right ones and consume them in moderation. You may have noticed as I explained the SAD includes carbs in every meal and not the best ones. We carb load almost every single day, and I didn’t even include fast food in that example. It’s no one why as a society we’re overweight, we lack
