This week, we're chatting with David Johnston, the Founder and Managing Director of Property Planning Australia. David is a mortgage broker but far more than that, he's a property planning specialist. We talk about all of the boring but very important stuff! Setting the plan about what you're trying to achieve with property, where you're wanting to live, what sort of retirement income you're looking at, what your risk profile is prior to purchasing the property to make sure it fits your strategies and goals. It's a great interview on the planning side of investing in property, which I think it's one of the key reasons why property investors aren't hitting their goals.

This week, we're chatting with Claire Corby, who's the founder of Capital Buyer's Agency. Now, this week we're zooming in to ACT and Canberra, so it's a real Canberra special. We have a chat to Claire about her background in accountancy and how she escaped, to become a buyer's agent, how she got into property, but really zoom into the Canberra market and some great tips on what investors need to be looking out for if they're investing in the ACT - some of the quirks, upcoming suburbs and areas for investors to be looking at. It's a really interesting insight into an unusual market within Australia, but a big one, with some great potential as well.

This week, we're chatting with Oliver Jackson, from Living Property. Now, although he's a buyer's agent, we have a chat to him about the strategy that he is employing to get fairly instant equity in his investments, over a short timeframe in this market. We also talk to him about the renovation projects that he worked on before he started this business, the splitter blocks that he's doing with a business partner; we talk to him about buying old '60s and '70s strata title blocks and undertaking major renovations as part of a syndicate, and just ways that investors are making money in the market that we're in at the moment. He gives us some great insights about how he got to where he is, the projects that he's working on, and the equity that he is delivering for his investor clients at the moment.

This week, we're chatting with John Russell who is the Managing Director and founder at Accumlify Wealth. Now, John is a little bit unusual in the fact that he is an accountant, a financial planner and a real estate agent and we have a chat to him about the interplay between all of those bits of advice and then the asset allocation strategies as well. So, he has a chat to us about some of the key ways that people at different stages of life can grow their wealth, a few tips for saving and we have a chat to him about the types of properties that he looks to inject into his clients' portfolios as well. He shares some great advice and tips for saving and getting ahead, and I'm sure this is one that you'll enjoy!

This week we're chatting with Jarrod McCabe, who's the Director at Wakelin Property Advisory. Now, Jarrod has a fantastic background in property valuation so he's a very analytical chap when it comes to selecting property and we chat to him about what makes an A grade property, some of the oversupply issues with apartments in Melbourne, and how he sources quality assets for investors and guides them to get properties that are going to perform strongly over the long term. It's a great interview with Jarrod, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

This week, we're chatting with Drew Evans, who's one of the founders of Caifu Property. The theme for the interview, really, today, is instant equity, and we chat to Drew about how he helps property investors generate instant equity through small development projects. We have a chat to him about the risk in construction contracts with builders and how he secures land under market value and generates that instant equity and the value of pulling the resources of his investors' group and the volume to be able to secure deals that are difficult for the average investor to look at. It's a fantastic and illuminating interview, with a lot of gold.

This week we're chatting with Chris Orr who's a real estate agent with Savills Real Estate in Sydney. Chris is a little bit unusual in that he works with the prestige property market, so properties that are transacting in excess of $10 million sometimes. So we have a chat to him about the differences between the high-end residential property and your average property market, what the difference in the drivers are and how properties are marketed differently in the high-end space. He gives us some great advice on the Sydney market and where he sees that going, we talk about the post-election landscape and how APRA changes are going to influence the property market. He highlights some areas that he's looking to, across the country, which have good investment potential and some of his strategies for minimizing risk and selecting high-quality investment grade assets as well. It's a great interview and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this one.

This week we're chatting with Luke Bailey, who's the founder of Fourtier Buyer's Agents. Now, Luke's got a great story in that his first foray into property investing was unsuccessful. He's very generous in sharing the reasons why the properties didn't double in the first seven to 10 years as it was expected. And we talk about his chance with a property investing guru, which set him on a different path, to the point where he now has a portfolio of 14 high-performing properties. We talk to Luke about his four main rules for selecting an investment-grade property, we talk about his own back yard in Adelaide and some of the areas that he's investing in, across Australia. It's a great interview with Luke, which I'm sure you'll enjoy.

This week I'm chatting with a slightly man flued weird radio voice, so please bear with me on this one, but I'll make it up to you with today's interview I hope because we're chatting with Tommy Segoro, who is the founder of Easy Buyer's Agent. Now, Tommy's first investment property, he got wrong, so I'm finding it really interesting to dive into the reasons why that investment was a failure for Tommy and how he was able to bounce back. We have a chat to Tommy about the cultural background that he comes from and how that influenced his purchasing decisions from the outset and how that's changed today. We also talk to him about the different strategies that he employs for his clients and to grow his own portfolio, and we have a little bit of chat about the Perth property market, where he's from, as well. Tommy's really generous with his time and quite humble about what he's done with property so far. I think it's a great interview, which you'll enjoy.

This week we're chatting with a real clever cookie, it's George Morice, one of the partners at Prime Partners Accountants. Now, I need to advise that George is an accountant, not a financial advisor, so any advice we've got here, is just general in nature, but we hear some great stories from George about his financial literacy education as an 8-year-old and an interesting way that his father taught him the value of patience and money, and George gives us some great insights into doing the due diligence on an investment property like an accountant. It's a fantastic and illuminating interview with George, who's always a lot of fun, I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it.

This week we're chatting with Daniel Walsh, who's a buyer's agent and founder of Your Property Your Wealth. Now, Daniel started investing at the age of 19 and at 27 had a property portfolio with 19 properties evaluated at over $4 million. We have a chat to Daniel about his mindset as a youngster and how he got bitten by the property bug. We also do a deep dive into the types of properties that he's chasing and how he does his due diligence, the areas he selects and how he selects properties based on the needs of the portfolio. Daniel is very generous with his information and it's a great interview, which I'm sure you'll enjoy.

This week we're chatting with Melissa Maimann, the Buyer's Agent, and we have a chat to her about how she serves both investors, owner-occupiers, and renters in the property market and she shares some great insights about how to select a property that all three are interested in. We talk about the opportunities in the market, a little bit of an idea about the more resilient pockets of real estate in Sydney, and she just gives us some great advice about selecting a property and what she's seen working from an investment strategy point of view. This week, we're chatting with Byron Miller, who's the managing director and principal of Asset Agents, in the Sunshine Coast. We have a chat to Byron about his background in real estate, how he became an investor at 20 years of age, and we really tease apart the Sunshine Coast Market. We talk about the growth drivers, the arrival of players like Stockland increasing supply, and what the main drivers are for capital growth, with some of their new projects, such as the Airport Expansion and hospitals and that sort of thing. We talk about some opportunities for investors and how to interview a property manager and make sure that you're getting someone looking after your investment the way that it should be done. We have a good chat to Jay about his background in the hotels' industry, both from the business analysis point of view and an acquisition point of view. This week we're chatting with Scott O'Neill who's the founder of Rethink Investing. Scott and his wife have a massive property portfolio in the tens of millions of dollars by the age of 31. They were both able to retire at age 28. They enjoy a solid passive income from their property portfolio and are able to travel three to six months of the year. We have a chat to Scott about how they've been able to achieve those results and the types of properties that have enabled to get to that level. We put the magnifying glass specifically on commercial property as well and Scott's got some great advice about saving, about assessing the growth and yield fundamentals for the property and about the types of commercial properties that he's investing in as well. It's a fantastic listen and Scott's very generous with the information and the time. I'm sure you're gonna enjoy this one.

This week we're chatting with Chris Bates who's a mortgage broker and financial adviser and he's the founder of Wealthful. He's also the co-host of the Elephant in the Room podcast. We have a chat to Chris about some of the elephants in the room at the moment, the financial landscape, the lending policies around serviceability with the banks. He gives us some great advice about how to begin our planning journey and we talk about property market fundamentals and drivers that ensure that we have a framework for analyzing the properties that we purchase based on demographics and scarcity.
