Throughout the early 1990's, investigators with the Indiana State Police attempted to solve the Days Inn Murders.Unbeknownst to investigators at the time, the 1989 murders of 24-year-old Peggy Gill and 34-year-old Jeanne Gilbert were just the tip of the iceberg when it came to this unknown offender. A rash of other crimes throughout the area - ranging as far south as Kentucky and as far north as Minnesota - would later be linked to the same individual. But that came many years after this crime spree came to an end, when DNA testing had become commonplace. On March 3rd, 1989, two women were found to have been murdered 50 miles away from one another. 24-year-old Peggy Gill & 34-year-old Jeanne Gilbert were each living separate lives in Merrillville and Rensselaer, Indiana (respectively), and neither seemed to have an inkling of the other's existence. Their only link seemed to be their employment with the Days Inn hotel brand, with each women working as a night auditor for their local branch. However, in the early morning hours of March 3rd, 1989, the stories of these two women would become forever intertwined. As two separate murder investigation began to unfold that weekend, connections would eventually reveal that a single individual had committed both crimes within a few hours... On the evening of December 30th, 2000, a family home in Tokyo's Setagaya district would become a house of horrors.Mikio and Yasuko Miyazawa had moved to the home more than 10 years prior, back in 1990, and decided to start their family there. In the years since, they had introduced a daughter (Niina) and a son (Rei) to the world, and comfortably lived next door to some of Yasuko's family members. But it was on the morning of New Years Eve 2000 that Yasuko's mother would attempt to reach the family. First my phone, and then at the couple's front door. 17 years ago, two lives were lost in a tragic holiday shooting in Tacoma, Washington. On November 28th, 2002, the paths of 19-year-old Kimberly Riley and 5-year-old Jeremy Britt-Bayinthavong would converge at a house in Tacoma's South End. Jeremy was the grandson of the homeowners, who were hosting a large Thanksgiving party, while Kimberly (an out-of-state student attending the University of Washington) was a family friend.
