"Like a Polling Stone" is parodist Loose Bruce Kerr's latest audio re Donald Trump's decline in the polls following release of the famous video weeks before the election. The original song was, of course, recent Nobel prize-winner, Bob Dylan's, "Like a Rolling Stone." Loose Bruce Kerr took 20 years off his legal career to write, record, and perform music across the country and the Caribbean. He's resumed his day career and works at Oracle in Silicon Valley. "SEXUALLY ACTIVE MAN (S.A.M.)" [the AUDIO] is "Loose Bruce" Kerr performing his original tune, his answer to "I'm a Woman (W.O.M.A.N.)" by Leiber & Stoller and performed by countless female singers. The song was first performed by Bruce in the New England band "Spud City" with Steve Hoeft in 1977, this AUDIO of the video is from Bruce's solo act in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, winter of 1981. "THE HOUSEHUSBAND BLUES" is one of "Loose Bruce" Kerr's early solo compositions from 1972-74. In about the summer of either '74 or '75, while returning to his hometown of Waukesha, Wisconsin during his living on the road, he bumped into fellow Waukeshan, guitarist whiz, Bruce Riddeough. The result was both Bruces playing on this tune (Bruce R. on bottleneck guitar). Les Paul's multitrack recording invention had just, and finally, reached consumer level with the TEAC 4 track reel-to-reel recorder, allowing Bruce K. to harmonize with himself, and add drums & bass. The song deals with the then-current loosening of parents playing traditional, defined roles...at a time when fathers were starting to take on some of the traditional wife's roles in raising kids, including inheriting some of the same downsides that can accompany those duties.
