[AUDIO version, see also here: VIDEO MP4 version] On the 25th year anniversary, Loose Bruce Kerr's comedy audio montage of "The Quake of '89" tells the story of the northern California earthquake of that year on October 17th (Bruce's birthday) through rock bands and singers, all of whom are in some way connected to the San Francisco Bay area. The piece received radio airplay in the month following the earthquake and the audio cassette's sales helped raise money for earthquake relief. Oakland, Marin, the outer East Bay, San Jose, and of course, San Francisco are all represented. Everyone from Tony Bennett to Huey Lewis to the Pointer Sisters to the Grateful Dead to Credence to Janis Joplin to Otis Redding...they're all here to tell the story using snippets of their songs. Loose Bruce Kerr lived in Mountain View in Silicon Valley in those days. He now resides in northern California's Morgan Hill.
