  • Inside No.9

    19/08/2021 Duración: 01h15min

Today, it's the podcast's ninth anniversary, and to mark the occasion, our bonus episode for the week is all about Number 9 Coronation Street. This blue and yellow stone clad pad is certainly one of the most recognisable houses on the street, and it's got a history that's just as colourful as its frontage! In this discussion, we chat about our favourite characters who've lived under its roof over the years, our most memorable scenes that have played out there, and even delve into the history of the house from before the show began.

  • Conversation Street Episode 483

    14/08/2021 Duración: 03h15min

We're a bit late with this week's podcast thanks to our little mini break we've just had away in London, but we're here at last, to chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 9th and the 13th August (Episodes #10398 - 10403). Looking at people's reactions to Monday night's Corrie, a lot of us started off the episode thinking the same thing: "Did I just miss an episode?" Yes, Shona's off-screen accident antics did leave a fair few of us scratching our heads, and the two of us do have differing views about how successful it was to start off the week in that way, so if nothing else, at least it makes a good talking point for the podcast! Another mystery this week was the 'Who destroyed the vegetable plot?' plot - and although that one got solved pretty quickly, it's nice to have the Seb story starting to warm up again before the big trial. On top of that, we've got Daisy setting her sights on Daniel (or should that be Daniel's bank balance?), Fiz taking the rap for Hope, and potential new own

  • Cherylee Houston Interview

    12/08/2021 Duración: 18min

For this week's bonus podcast, we chat with Corrie actress Cherylee Houston about her current storyline, which sees Izzy dealing with the challenges of juggling working for the factory whilst shielding at home. Cherylee talks about what it's been like to be stuck indoors for so long during the pandemic, how she and her partner Toby filmed Izzy's scenes from their own home, and reflects on some of her highlights from over a decade on the cobbles.

  • Conversation Street Episode 482

    07/08/2021 Duración: 03h04min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 2nd and 6th August (Episodes #10392 - 10397). Things are really hotting up in the Fiz and Tyrone story this week as everyone's favourite pint-sized pyro Hope sets fire to Alina's flat, which has devastating consequences. Meanwhile, the flames of passion are burning for Aadi as he tries his best to initiate a bit of Summer loving, Izzy confesses that juggling Jake and her factory work whilst shielding has left her feeling burnt out, and Nina's all fired up about her latest idea to memorialise Seb. After Street Talk, we head straight over to the feedback section, then we finish off with our reactions to a few bits of recent spoilery cast news in a Kabin Extra segment. • Listener Questions

    03/08/2021 Duración: 01h27min

For this week's bonus podcast, it's time for another listener question segment! First up, we take Jon's suggestion about who we'd like to star in a Corrie two-hander. Compared to EastEnders, Corrie has barely ever tackled the two-hander format, so there's plenty of scope for ideas here - and we thinks we've come up with quite a few nice ones, even if we do say so ourselves! Next up, a question from Gentledreamsedits about Corrie parents: who are the show's worst, and who are its best? Now, not being parents ourselves, that naturally gives us full rights to rain down fiery judgement on anyone who's tried to raise a child on the Street. Who gets our seal of approval? Tune in to find out!

  • Conversation Street Episode 481

    31/07/2021 Duración: 03h23min

For this week's podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 26th and the 30th July. There'd already been been a few hints this year that Coronation Street wanted to tackle a story about racism and unconscious bias, and this week, it got top billing as James and Michael are stopped when out test driving a flash sports car. We start the Street Talk segment by weighing in with our own thoughts on the issue, and how we feel Corrie's handled it so far. Also this week, the tide turns for Todd as Billy finally finds out the truth about how he manipulated his way back into the archdeacon's affections, Hope becomes increasingly jealous of Tyrone's interest in his unborn baby, and Kelly opens up about her traumatic childhood. Next up, we head over to The Kabin to chat about a couple of recent reports in the tabloids, then we finish off the podcast with some feedback, including some of our listeners' reactions to this week's racism story. • Vicky Binns Interview

    28/07/2021 Duración: 38min

In 2005, Vicky Binns joined the Street as Molly Compton, the dog loving baker's daughter who stirred up plenty of trouble for Fiz, who'd once bullied Molly at school. In this interview, we're joined by Vicky to reminisce about her time on the cobbles, including the notorious affair with Kevin and her explosive exit in the live episode for the 50th anniversary.

  • Conversation Street Episode 480

    24/07/2021 Duración: 02h44min

Our latest podcast covers the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 19th and the 23rd July (Episodes #10380 - 10385). It's the week of the charity calendar shoot, and as the men of the street bear their bodies for the camera, Curtis bears his soul to his new love Emma, revealing his secret heart condition that could see him drop dead at any minute. In fact, there are romances blossoming all over the Street this week, with Grace finding herself attracted to Michael again, Fiz and Phill's obvious chemistry driving Tyrone into a jealous rage, and Leanne and Nick having some sweet scenes together after she realises that life with Sam's actually not so bad. Though the lack of big news stories saw us give The Kabin a miss this week, we make up for it with a bit of a bumper feedback section, with one email in particular giving us plenty to muse over about the current state of Corrie, and what we might do to shake things up if we were in charge. Street Talk - 00:17:45 Feedback - 02:04:01

  • Maureen Holdsworth Character Profile

    21/07/2021 Duración: 45min

For this week's bonus podcast, we're taking an in-depth look at the character of Maureen Holdsworth. From the hilarious waterbed incident with Reg to the poignant scenes at the Normandy graves with cantankerous mother Maud, Maureen had plenty of memorable moments during her time on the cobbles, and in this episode, we chat over some of our favourites - and ponder whether a return to the Street for Maureen could ever become a reality..

  • Conversation Street Episode 479

    17/07/2021 Duración: 02h58min

On our latest podcast, we spill the beans on what we thought of the past week of Corrie, running from the 12th to the 16th July. There was plenty of pump action in this week's Corrie, as Todd resorts to desperate measures to keep Will from blabbing to Summer about the extent of his nefariousness when it came to bagging Billy. Meanwhile, after last Friday's drunken revelries, Ryan wakes up in Daisy's bed in a state of undress - just how far did things go with her? And speaking of getting your kit off, is it just us who finds Curtis' apparent desire to photograph every bloke on the Street in their birthday suit more than a little odd, especially as he's only been on the scene for what seems like five minutes? After Street Talk, we head to the Kabin, where we chat about the recent reports in the papers about Corrie apparently struggling to keep COVID under control, plus we check out what Helen Flanagan's been up to recently and share our thoughts on who absolutely should not win the best soap actor gong at the

  • Feature Discussion: 1995-1999

    13/07/2021 Duración: 02h20min

Welcome to our bonus podcast for the week! We've decided to give it a go spacing out our main and bonus episodes after it seemed to go down well splitting them up during the Euros. Although we can't guarantee which day the bonus podcast will be out each week because of our own schedules, it's likely to be either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for the time being, with the main Street Talk episode out every Saturday as usual. Let's see how it goes! This podcast (which we actually recorded a couple of weeks ago, so sorry if any of the references aren't quite up to date!) we chat about the episodes we've been watching on our DVDs from between 1995 and 1999. This is the era that Corrie saw a big shift in tone as well as a bit of an overhaul of the cast. Out went the likes of Bet, Raquel, Derek and Percy, and in came the Battersbys, the Mallets and fan favourites Roy and Hayley. The late 90s also had Corrie hitting the headlines with the notorious Free The Weatherfield One story, tackled domestic violence in the M

  • Corrie's Royal Connections

    08/07/2021 Duración: 01h01min

For this week's bonus podcast, we thought we'd jump on the royal bandwagon following today's visit to the cobbles by the Queen. After chatting about what went on during her tour of the Street, we take a look back at previous times that Corrie has been graced by royalty, including when the Queen opened the set on Quay Street in 1982 and when Prince Charles showed up to shake Audrey's hand in the 40th anniversary episode. As well as this, we chat about the time the show allegedly got a royal rap on the knuckles by mentioning Prince Philip's name on air, explain why Vera Duckworth was so convinced she had blue blood, and remember when Alf Roberts got his OBE at the palace - and why Audrey had to get down there to see it by hitch-hiking!

  • Conversation Street Episode 478

    06/07/2021 Duración: 02h49min

In our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street released on the ITV Hub on the 5th July, and set for broadcast on TV between the 5th and the 9th. This week was all about characters getting their claws into their man at all costs, with both Daisy and Todd resorting to devious means to get what they want. They're not the only ones with men issues either, as Izzy's got a mystery house guest who gets tongues a-wagging at the factory. The rumour mill is on Fiz's mind too as she urges Tyrone to fess up to the girls about Alina's big news, and Gail is set to put it all behind her as she heads off to Thailand. Next up on the podcast, we ponder whether Corrie will be following EastEnders' lead in continuing to release episodes early online during the Olympincs, then we round things off with more of your listener feedback. • Leanne Battersby Character Profile Revisit - Episode 477

    03/07/2021 Duración: 01h04min

This week's bonus podcast is a character profile revisit of birthday girl Leanne Battersby, who we first profiled way back in Episode #20 of Conversation Street. Since then, she's faced drama upon drama, including suffering abuse from son Simon and of course, the tragedy of Oli's death last year. In this episode, we look back on everything Leanne's been up to since 2012, and chat about the up and down relationship that we as a podcast have had with the character over the past nine years.

  • Conversation Street Episode 477

    29/06/2021 Duración: 02h43min

On our latest podcast, we have a bit of a natter about the episodes of Corrie released on the ITV Hub on Monday 28th June, and set for broadcast on TV between the 29th June and the 2nd July. Alina and Tyrone have got a big secret this week, and it's only going to get bigger over the next nine months. Can they keep it quiet from everyone, and most importantly, Fiz? Meanwhile, James is on cloud 9 when he hears he's taking over from Tommy O at County, but when Danny returns to the cobbles with the news that he's off to start a new job in France, will James be able to bring himself to do what it takes to stop him? Also this week: management reshuffles at Underworld and the Rovers, and things aren't looking good for Ryan and Alya.. After Street Talk, we head over to the Kabin to find out what's been going on in the news for Corrie, and we round off the show with more of your listener feedback. • Our Reflections On 2021 So Far: Episode 476

    26/06/2021 Duración: 01h37min

We've pretty much reached the halfway point of another year, and in this episode of the podcast, we take a look at the first six months of 2021 on Corrie and chat about how it's all going. With the end of 2020 marking the climax of the long-running coercive control story as well as the tragic but inevitable death of Oliver Battersby, we started the year excited to see what direction our favourite characters would go in next. A massive story for the Corrie teens was promised, which turned out to be the compelling drama of the attack on Nina and Seb, the repercussions of which promise to continue well into the second half of the year. 2021 also teased the return of a legacy character from Rita's past, and we certainly 'ad it when Sharon Bentley rocked up on the Street, looking for trouble. Meanwhile, a few of our favourite couples have been split up, Peter's been drinking in the Last Chance Saloon, and you thought Jane Danson might get a break after everything Leanne went through last year? No chance! We fini

  • Conversation Street Episode 476

    22/06/2021 Duración: 02h39min

On our latest podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes of Corrie released on the ITV Hub on Monday 21st June, and set for broadcast on TV between the 21st and the 25th. It's the week of the big trial, and Leanne is still adamant she's going to tell the truth about the hell Harvey's put her family through these past few months. Will she be able to hold her nerve in court? Meanwhile, Sean tries some suitin' and recruitin' in the name of Double Glammy, Summer gets a dire diabetes diagnosis, and Ty and Alina don't join the territorial army. There's some happy news for Kate Spencer in the Kabin, and we round off the show with a bumper batch of listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:13:49 The Kabin - 01:55:42 Feedback - 02:02:45

  • Listener Questions - Episode 475

    19/06/2021 Duración: 58min

In this week's bonus podcast, we answer another pair of questions sent in by listeners. First off, Jon wants to know which characters from the 60s and 70s we think would fit right into modern Corrie.  Not an easy task, that one, but we think we found a few who'd slot right in without changing too much about their personality or style! Next up, a nice summery question from Navdeep, who challenges us to pick five Corrie couples who we'd invite round for a barbecue. Lots of factors to consider there including dietary requirements, entertainment value and who we think we'd get on with - can you guess who we might have decided on?

  • Conversation Street Episode 475

    15/06/2021 Duración: 02h47min

On our latest podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes of Corrie released on the ITV Hub on Monday 14th June, and set for broadcast on the telly between the 14th and the 20th. Like many of you, we've already binged this week's episodes online, so if you don't want things spoiled, you may want to wait until Sunday evening to find out our thoughts on the returning characters, the brushes with death, Ty's new purchase and some Father's Day hijinks... After Street Talk, we take a look at some of the Corrie related news stories that have broken over the past few days in The Kabin, then we round things  off with more of your listener feedback! • Conversation Street Episode 474

    12/06/2021 Duración: 02h57min

On this week's episode of the podcast, we prattle on about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 7th and the 11th June (Episodes #10344 - 10349). This week, romance is in the air for Dev and his unlikely new conquest, Bernie. We must say, despite some initial reservations about the prospect of the two of them getting together, we did quite enjoy them sneaking around on Wednesday, and Bernie's face when she tiptoed down the stairs was a picture. Speaking of pictures, what about that photo of Tyrone and Alina, eh? Utterly cringeworthy, but a great opportunity for some funny scenes in the flat! Meanwhile, the Purple Bricks sign goes up at the Rovers after Johnny decides to sell up, Nina finds the grief of losing Seb too much to bear and turns to the bottle, and there's a special delivery for Peter. Not a whole lot in the way of Corrie news this week, so we give The Kabin a swerve, but make up for it with a bumper feedback session, where we hear about your views on Corrie on the ITV Hub, Jenny and Johnny sp
