  • Kate Spencer Interview

    24/01/2022 Duración: 26min

For our bonus podcast this week, we were joined by the lovely Kate Spencer, who recently departed the cobbles after two years of playing mischievous Grace Vickers. Kate chats about what it was like to be a part of the Coronation Street team throughout the pandemic, keep the secret about Tiana's true parentage, and do her Corrie-loving mum proud! As well as this, we find out how the absolutely lovely Kate is worlds away from nasty nanny Grace, and what she likes to get up to when she's not on our tellies. • Conversation Street Episode 506

    22/01/2022 Duración: 03h17min

Michael's got COVID (again!) this week, so not only have we had to watch this week's Corrie in separate rooms of the house, we've also had to attempt a socially distanced recording, too! This week's show covers the episodes broadcast in the UK between the 17th and the 21st January (Episodes #10537 - 10542).  As much as our Craigy might think that uncovering the identity of his crutch's original owner is the most important thing going on in Weatherfield this week - nay, this year! - there's actually a few other items higher on the agenda for us. First off, the Winter-Browns in the red, and the extent that Bernie will go to in order to get some food on the table at No. 5 (and no, we're not talking about sticking her tongue down Dev's throat, either...) Meanwhile, Tim refuses to let Sally know about his upcoming op (despite viewers up and down the country yelling "Just tell her, Tim!" at their TVs all week), Zeedan's still in Yasmeen's bad books, and Mrs Crawshaw pledges to take action after Amy's protest - but

  • Amanda Barrie Interview

    20/01/2022 Duración: 36min

For this interview, we were joined by a real Corrie legend. Following an already illustrious career on stage and screen, Amanda Barrie joined the cast of Corrie in the early 80s as straight talking cafe worker, Alma Sedgewick. Over the years, she rose to become one of the era's best loved characters, forming a popular partnership in the cafe with Gail, and being one half of an iconic couple alongside Mike Baldwin. Here, Amanda shares her memories of her time in the show, working alongside some other Corrie icons. Also available to watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weu2u7jngps

  • Conversation Street Episode 505

    15/01/2022 Duración: 01h57min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 10th and the 14th January (Episodes #10531 - 10536). Bit of a shorter podcast from us this week, it turned out. Not that that is was a particularly bad week or anything; it's just when it came down to chatting about the episodes, we didn't end up having very much to say! Yeah, having your kid go missing must be pretty awful, right? Hmm, they're definitely still putting things in place for Tim to be accused of having an affair with Aggie, aren't they? The Zeedan story... is that *really* still going? Sure, Joseph was admittedly extremely cute, there were a few lovely character focused scenes with Jenny, Amy on her crusade was fantastic and Shona in the Kabin certainly has potential, but yeah... Let's hope next week has a bit more to get our blood pumping! There wasn't even very much in the way of Corrie news this week either, so we decided to give The Kabin a swerve, but there's always time for listener feedbac

  • Corrie In 2021: A Year in Review and Predictions for 2022

    11/01/2022 Duración: 02h14min

Another year has come and gone, and in this bonus episode of the podcast, we take a final look at 2021 on Coronation Street. After seeing which characters made it into the Top 10 appearance count for the year, we chat about the production side of things first - how well has Corrie made it through another year of the pandemic, and can we see the light at the end of the tunnel in terms of filming restrictions? We also have a run down of some of our favourite stories and characters of the year, particularly trying to give some time to those who may not have been honoured in our recent Conversation Street Awards show. Then, just over around and hour and twenty minutes into the podcast, we switch over to the predictions segment for 2022 - though not before seeing how many of our predictions we made a year ago for 2021 actually came true (spoiler: not many!) We round things off by reading out some of the predictions for the year sent in by listeners. Time will tell which of them is also a mole at the Corrie offic

  • Conversation Street Episode 504

    08/01/2022 Duración: 03h47s

Happy New Year everyone! Our first podcast of 2022 covers the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 31st December and the 5th January (Episodes #10524 - 10530) The new year kicked off with a couple of brand new stories for the show, including Tim's need for a triple heart bypass and the pickle that Faye and Emma have managed to get themselves into involving a dead pensioner, a missing fingernail and a packet of crusher ginger nuts. Meanwhile, because Corrie viewers are clearly interested in stories about characters covering up mysterious circumstances surrounding someone's death, we also got more in the new look Speed Daal this week, where Alya is desperately trying to make Zeedan see that getting back with his ex when they bear some responsibility for her dad's untimely demise probably isn't the best idea. All this, plus a pregnancy scare for Abi, a new job at Underworld for Lydia, and a breakthrough for Nick in his endeavours to get Sam talking again. Up next on the podcast, we chat about who fro

  • The Conversation Street Awards 2021

    03/01/2022 Duración: 01h58min

Another year has come and gone, and that can only mean one thing: another Conversation Street Awards! This is the tenth time we've run these awards, and we've had more people voting this year than ever, so thanks to everyone who took the time to have their say about 2021 in Weatherfield. Who were the Top Lad and Top Lass? Which surprise twist had us crying out "By 'Eck!"? Who packed the best punch, and has Jenny managed to snag that Flamin' Nora award for best redhead for the seventh year in a row? Listen in to find out!

  • Conversation Street Episode 503

    29/12/2021 Duración: 03h09min

In our final podcast of 2021, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown over the Christmas weekend-and-a-bit - that's the 24th to the 28th December (Episodes #10516 - 10523). In a refreshing change to the doom and gloom soap viewers are so often treated to each Christmas, Corrie opted for a lighter tone for this year's 25th December episode. That's not to say there weren't fisticuffs or fallouts (though Tyrone and Phill's inflatable toy fight was pure comedy, and we don't think anyone can deny that George deserved the rollocking he got from Eileen after presenting her with THAT gift..) but with the whole community gathered around the piano for a sing-song at the end of the episode, you'd be forgiven for forgetting some of the lingering beef that certain characters still had with each other - not least Abi's deep resentment towards Kelly still living in the vicinity. Yes, the new Mrs Webster certainly caused a bit of a storm on social media this week with her relentless hounding of Kelly, but what

  • Conversation Street Episode 502

    23/12/2021 Duración: 02h08min

Coming at you earlier than usual this week, it's Conversation Street Episode #502, which covers what went down on the cobbles on the 20th and 22nd December (Episodes #10512 - 10515) Emma's wedding day has arrived, and while she's at the hotel looking pretty in pink, Curtis is nowhere to be found - has he done a runner with Steve's charity money? Meanwhile, Max's future at Weathy High hangs in the balance as Mrs Crawshaw comes to a decision about whether to reinstate him, Abi sees red when she realises that Kelly's now staying just a few doors down from her, and  Sarah desperately tries to get the warring Barlows and Platts to come together  for Christmas. Next up on the podcast, we celebrate Corrie's win over Team Emmerdale at this year's Big Soap Quiz, and we round off the show with more of your listener feedback. • Conversation Street Episode 501

    18/12/2021 Duración: 02h58min

In our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 13th and the 17th December (Episodes #10506 - 10511). This week, Emma learns the truth about Curtis' non-existent heart condition, which causes her to wonder whether she really SHOULD be marrying this guy she's barely known for five minutes and has been lying to her and manipulating her feelings since their very first encounter. Hmm, tough choice, eh, Emma? Thank goodness for Amy trying to talk some sense into her, at least! Meanwhile, Maria decides she's had enough of being Sally's wingwoman and announces she's flying solo, Adam thinks he's wandered into Nick's story from last year when Sarah's new bezzie mate turns out to be one of his ex-flings and she has a kid in tow, and Audrey struggles to come to terms with the fact that getting old ain't all it's cracked up to be. As we're running a bit late this week and there's not much in the way of Corrie news, we decide to give the Kabin a swerve, and delve straight into th

  • The Conversation Street Awards 2021 Nominations

    13/12/2021 Duración: 01h22min

The end of 2021 is nearly here, which means it's time for the 10th annual Conversation Street Awards!  The past twelve months have seen their fair share of heroes and villains on the cobbles, but which characters and storylines are most deserving of praise? Results will be revealed in our annual awards show around New Year, but first, have a listen to use discussing this nominees, and see if it helps you pick your winners! When you know who your winners are, head over to https://surveyhero.com/c/i3qq7g3r and cast your vote!

  • Conversation Street Episode 500

    11/12/2021 Duración: 02h56min

On the 500th edition of Conversation Street, we chat about what went down on the cobbles in the week of the 6th to the 10th December (Episodes #10,500 - 10,505). This week, Daniel is faced with the prospect of his teaching career being over before it's barely even begun when Max publicly accuses him of being in an affair with Summer at the Sixth Form Ice Ball. Meanwhile, fans of Phill's mummy Mimi (and we'd DEFINITELY include ourselves in that bracket!) were in for a treat this week as she organises a birthday bash for her boy in the Bistro - but will he stand up to her when she starts bad-mouthing Fiz? Elsewhere on the Street, Hashim turns up the heat on Zeedan in the wake of the Speed Daal fire, Amy's university aspirations risk putting a dampener on Emma's increasingly extravagant wedding plans, and Corrie's Grace period is over as Ed and Aggie convince her to leave Weatherfield for good. Up next on the podcast, we take a look at what Simon Gregson's been up to in I'm A Celeb and celebrate Corrie's clean

  • Sue Devaney Interview

    08/12/2021 Duración: 34min

This week, we're publishing the 500th episode of the podcast, and to help us celebrate, we invited actress Sue Devaney onto the show for a chat! Though her character, Debbie Webster, first appeared on the Street for a 7-month period in the mid-80s, it's her current stint in the role for which she'll be best remembered. The hot-headed hotelier with a penchant for pendant earrings, Debbie Webster is currently one of our favourite characters on the show, so it was a real pleasure to chat to Sue - we hope you enjoy it! You can watch a video of the interview over on our YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/QeSE4IArIiQ

  • Conversation Street Episode 499

    04/12/2021 Duración: 03h33min

On our latest podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 29th November and the 3rd December (Episodes #10494 - 10499). We've been talking about the possibility of Curtis having factitious disorder for about three months now, and this week, it's finally confirmed that this is indeed what's behind his suspicious behaviour of late. We start the Street Talk segment by chatting about what we've been learning about this condition over the past few days, and ponder what it could mean for Emma as she prepares to marry the man of her dreams. Also this week, Grace makes an offer that Aggie finds hard to refuse, Daniel remains blissfully ignorant of Summer's blatant crush on him, and Zeedan's feeling the heat from Hashim. Next up on the podcast, we take a trip to The Kabin, where we take a look at the Corrie Christmas schedule (and do our best to restrain ourselves from going on *too* much of a rant about some of the episodes being uploaded early to the Hub), and

  • Coronation Street In The 00s Part 1:2000 - 2004

    30/11/2021 Duración: 01h39min

This one's been a long time coming, but we've finally made it through to the midway point of the first decade of the new millennium. This period in the Street's history saw a rise in the number of issues-based stories, such as Sarah-Louise's pregnancy and Internet stalker, as well as some well remembered darker moments, like the Richard Hillman saga, the Freshco's siege and Alma's tragic demise. Despite all this though, there was still a lot to laugh about - who can forget Les and Cilla falling through the ceiling in their bathtub or Jack's turn as a member of the women's bowls team? We hope you enjoy listening to us reflecting on the period - both the highs and the lows.

  • Conversation Street Episode 498

    27/11/2021 Duración: 02h56min

In our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 22nd and the 26th November (Episodes #10488 - 10493). This week, the burden of covering up for Abi and Nina gets too heavy for Roy and he disappears from Weatherfield. Is this just a temporary break for him, or has the Street institution really buttered his last barmcake? Also this week, Faye gets her freedom after being released on bail, George and Abi employ somewhat different techniques to try and convince Sam to start talking again, and Kelly spices up her life after crossing paths with a local drug dealer. Up next on the podcast, we celebrate Corrie's recents wins at the Inside Soap Awards, and we round things off with more of your listener feedback. • Listener Questions

    25/11/2021 Duración: 01h03min

For this week's bonus podcast, we've done another listener question segment! First up, with Thanksgiving on our American listeners' minds this week, we've been asked which characters we'd invite for a Thanksgiving dinner, what dish they'd bring, and what they'd be thankful for.  Lots to get our teeth into there! Next up, we've got a question that's right up Michael's street: which ex-Coronation Street actor should take over the role of the Doctor from Jodie Whittaker in Doctor Who?

  • Conversation Street Episode 497

    20/11/2021 Duración: 02h40min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 16th and the 19th November (Episodes #10482 - 10487). Operation 'Get The Viewers To Feel Sorry For Kelly' continues this week, as the controversial ex-con falls on hard times, sleeping on the streets, bin diving for cold pizza and attracting the attentions of a creepy letch at Chariot Square. Meanwhile, it's the week of Johnny's funeral and Jenny's struggling to keep it together - though a surprise inheritance of 20 grand is always good to soften the blow! Also this week, surprise returns for Faye and Ray, Max's film project gets Summer worried she might lose her chance of a place at Oxford, and Sam continues to be one of our favourite characters of the week without uttering a single word. Up next, it's The Kabin, where a sneak preview of next week's Inside Soap Awards brings good news for Corrie, and we round things off with a bit of feedback. Street Talk - 00:07:40 The Kabin - 02:13:38 Feedback - 02:24:20

  • Sally Ann Matthews Interview

    18/11/2021 Duración: 37min

As you know, we're massive Jenny Connor fans here on Conversation Street, and this week, we thought it was about time we invited Sally Ann Matthews back on the podcast to chat about how life on the cobbles has been for her since taking over as Rovers landlady.  Losing a husband, gaining a step-daughter, sinkhole dramas, drunk acting and of course, THAT tasering scene with Sharon... We have a good old natter about all this and more, in this week's bonus show! Sal's currently raising money for five fantastic causes with 50 5K runs. If you'd like to send a bit of cash her way, her fundraising site is open until the end of November here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=SallyAnnMatthews&pageUrl=1

  • Conversation Street Episode 496

    12/11/2021 Duración: 03h13min

With the Weatherfield week ending on Wednesday this week, we're coming at you a little earlier with our latest podcast, which covers the goings on in Coronation Street between the 8th and the 10th November (Episodes #10476 - 10481). Not only that, but with Michael testing positive for COVID on Tuesday night and subsequently isolating from Gemma, we've also had to be a bit creative with how we've watched Corrie and recorded the podcast this week, so apologies for the sound quality not being up to its usual standard! That all aside, we actually quite enjoyed this week's Corrie - although with all the overlapping of stories going on (we're looking at YOU, Kelly, Aadi and Summer!) we admit we did find it was a bit of a tricky Street Talk segment to manage at times! As we predicted, the Street residents seem to have forgotten their environmental principles just as quickly as they developed them this week, with not a hint of the Red Red bypass story getting a mention; instead, the main action seemed to have revolv
