  • Cherish the process

    10/03/2022 Duración: 31min

Everyone talks about goals and society tells us bigger is better, for a lot of people that's a whole load of blah blah blah. The thing that brings goals to life is "the process" and the process is every minute between when you set the goal and achieve it. Some people call it life, it happens daily. This is what we must cherish, fall in love with, look forward to, call it what you want. Achieving a goal on any level will be infinitely easier if we are able to love and cherish the process as that is such a huge part of our lives. Three key takeaways from this show: Life happens daily, that is the process, win there and you win in your goals What are you excited about, if you do not  have answers then is the goal right for you? Be grateful on all levels that you are in a position to have goals and the process, sounds simple, it is and works. Thanks for listening. Enjoy the show. Marcus

  • Iten - The Home of Champions

    16/12/2021 Duración: 42min

Why are they so dominant? What's the secret? What are they doing that no one else is? These are some of the most common questions around some of the top performers in any sport or industry around the world. If you run or like sport you have probably heard of Kenyans in running and their pure dominance. Having run since childhood I certainly had and was always in awe of what they could do. I would watch them with intent. I had read books, spoken to people, even ran an ultra in Kenya in 2019. However after a conversation with Shane Benzie in 2020 I made a decision I would go to the home of running....Iten. November 2021 Tom, Rob and I did that. In this show I try and share some key points. The reflection and learning will last a long time still and we will return. Enjoy the show! Zion Clark was born on September 29, 1997 in Columbus, OH with a rare condition, Caudal Regression Syndrome...born with no legs, and  due to his birth mother's inability to care for him, Zion was immediately  thrust into the foster care system.  Thus, his journey to find a permanent home and a someone to call "mom" began. Over  the course of the next 16 years Zion moved numerous times and found  himself in a variety of circumstances and environments...many of them  unfavorable. There  were situations when Zion was mentally abused, physically bullied, and  underfed...but he remained optimistic (faith in God). Being  physically different from others didn't help, but Zion used a positive  mindset, gracious demeanor, and diligent study habits to make friends  and excel academically. Zion  was introduced to the sport of wrestling while in elementary school,  but initially didn't fare very well...in fact, he didn't win a match for  several years.
