Into the darkness Wrap Up

What started as a bit of fun between mates 5 years ago is now a major fixture in the InnerFight calendar. Starting at sunset with a 50km ride, participants then run the same 50km before getting back on their bikes for another 50km with the aim of completing the nights work before the sun rises. This week we are joined by a few of the InnerFight endurance coaches who recap how the 2022 Into the Darkness played out.

Running 89 hours, 596km with Keith Russell
03/06/2022 Duración: 52min12 months ago Keith Russell set a national and European record for "backyard" ultra running 6.7km per hour for 63 hours. Shortly after that he set his sights on a world record for this mind blowing simple event. Fast forward a year and at 10pm on Tuesday 17th May after being in the race for 86 hours he set that record having earlier broken his own national and European records. 4 hours later he returned from the 90th hour just ten minutes after it had started. Race result…..DNF. (did not finish) Life can brutal, sport can brutal in this weeks show Keith teaches us more on both.
