God is sometimes silent. Israel had not had a prophet for a long time. Luke goes back to the last prophet in the Old Testament to begin the story of Jesus. He records where the silence ended just before the first Christmas. God showed up in an unexpected moment.

Jesus gave a lot commands. It's not because He is into commands, but because He has a plan. What was the last imperative that He left with the disciples in Matthew 28? It's what we should be doing.

Why did Luke write his gospel? We discover the purpose of Luke's writing at the beginning of his gospel. His purpose in recording the words and works of Jesus has not changed in 2,000 years. It can impact us now as did to people then.

The prospect of what God could do in us and through us is exciting. God has wired us to worship Him. When we worship God incredible things begin to take place. Imagine what could be if you dare to worship wholeheartedly.
