Every step of the way, the church is built due to God’s blessing and intervention. The church’s true power is found when we get on our knees and allow God to work.

We have a God who hears our prayers and is moved by our faithfulness in our prayer life.

James lays out our action for us- draw near to God, cleanse your hands, purify your hearts, and humble yourself.

When a crisis arises, we see what is really important. God as called each one of to something unique- and prayer is the common denominator in what we are all called to do.

There is a relationship between sowing and giving. God knows that someone who gives reluctantly is still thinking like an owner, not a steward.

This is one of the best sermons I have heard and I was able to get my hands on a copy. Dr. Busic preached this sermon while conducting our Zone Campmeeting in March. This is was recorded at another church where he preached a couple months prior. I referenced this sermon in my sermon last Sunday.

The church must realize the power it has through Christ and act accordingly. We are not called to live lives afraid- rather we are to be bold in Christ.

A follower of Jesus is someone marked by love. Generous love is a life radiating God's love. How are you going to radiate His love this week?

Our God is incredibly generous to us. Are you live as an owner of your possessions or a steward of God's abundance?

Our hope is not placed in what we have, rather in God. To be truly rich is to be "generous and ready to share."

This passage shows us that Abundant Joy + Extreme Poverty= a Wealth of Generosity. How is that possible? What is robbing you of the abundant joy of God? What are the steps to bring that joy back?

Today, we heard from Rev. Daniel Medders. He currently serves as the Youth Pastor at Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Memphis, TN.

Paul was a man of comparisons. He used comparisons to teach and help his audience to grasp deep theological issues. Today, we look at Paul and use a comparison that I believe Paul would have loved.

We are God's people. We are called by His name. His Spirit dwells within us. Do we really believe that? Are we willing to trust Him? Are we willing to trust the words spoken by Jesus concerning the Spirit? This morning we are challenged to trust the Spirit for His guiding and work.

We are beginning a new series today that will take us to Sunday, May 19th- Pentecost Sunday. Join us as we look at the role the Holy Spirit plays in the life of the believer.

My great-uncle, Milton, used to say to me that this was a passage that preached itself. As a seminary student, I struggled to write two sermons a semester. The thought of a passage that preached itself was completely foreign to me. Over ten years later, I know exactly what he was saying. Paul comes to the high point of one of greatest chapters in the entire Bible. It is my hope that you see the beauty in the proclamation, “If God be for us!”

Do we truly allow God to search our hearts? In Romans 8, Paul calls God 'the Searcher of Hearts'. Will you allow God to search your heart? Will you get in tune to the conversation the Spirit is already having with the Lord?
