What makes a great church? A pastor friend of mine from Brazil said, "It's because we fight good fights, we finished the race, and we keep the faith." That's a great challenge on this Mother's Day.

Freedom is a word that we struggle with in the church. What does it mean to have freedom in Christ? What does Paul mean in Galatians when he says, "It is for freedom that Christ has set you free?" Free from what? Free for what?

Jesus called ordinary people right in the middle of the ordinary lives to do extraordinary things..and He still does.

As King and Messiah and Lord, the Son commissions the church to bear witness to the world of the redemption in Jesus Christ, the True King, and to embody the kingdom as the people of God.

Today, we look at the three most important words ever uttered, "He is risen!"

The question of the crowds on the Palm Sunday morning is a question that will change your life.

Friendship is an important part of community. Friendship is a committed, caring, and conversational relationship.

If God take such pains to make a small flower or bird beautiful, how much more will He take care of you? Worry keeps me focused on my limited resources.
 Trust keeps my attention on God's abundant resources.

Money and possessions bring momentary happiness, security, power, and success. However, they will eventually let us down.

Outside the Kingdom of God, we have no way to determine our value other than what others say about us. There is only One who truly knows our hearts, and He is the One we are to seek.  God is an invisible God, and He cares deeply about what we do that no one else can see.


God has made peace with humanity in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The consequences of this are enormous: the new covenant is a covenant of peace.

Four statements that need to be made: God is truth & can never lie.
 The Spirit is truth.
 Jesus is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
 The God of Truth guides us into truth.


There are three primary points to today’s sermon- 1. We start by understanding that we abide in Christ (John 15:4-5). 2. Sin remains, but it most not reign (Gal. 5:16-17). 3. You are a new creation, a child of God (2 Cor 5:17).

Today, we will look at another appearance story in John's gospel.

Jesus has given His disciples a mission and after His resurrection, their lives return to normal. Is this the mission He sent them on?

Paul is clear in 2 Corinthians, that we are all to be ministers. But what does that mean? What does it mean to be a minister?

John 13 is a central chapter in the shape of John's telling of the Gospel. In the act of foot-washing, we see Jesus communicating a deeper understanding of who He and His Father are. Some theologians would argue that the picture of God we receive in this story is the truest picture we see in our Bibles.

To be a disciple is to be one who spends his/her life apprenticed to our Master, Jesus Christ. We are always in a learning/growing relationship. WE do not acquire information about God, but skills in faith.
