Tanked Up

Ben and Lucy get together to discuss their recent outings to Taps Beer Festival, Bristol Craft Beer festival and to EGX. They chat the idea of the attendance of brewers / game developers, big queues, big beers, local beers and what they enjoyed from these events. Lucy played some games whist at EGX including G30, Overcooked 2 and Phogs, she also played The Gardens Between which she goes into a little more detail on. After the events they discuss some news including the sad closure of Telltale Games and Sony caving on crossplay. Lucy has a week off the beer so it's just down to Ben. He drinks the 'Dhana International' from Bundobust and Northern Monk then jumps to a Deya 'Invoice me for the microphone'.    

Once again Ben and Lucy have played the same game and discuss last weeks big release of Marvel's Spider-Man in a packed episode. Whilst talking about their time with it they touch on Mafia 3, The Batman Arkham series, God of War, Nintendo and attachment rates, For Honor, Marvel, Def Jam, 50 Cent, Doom, Artistic Vision, Combat balance, more Batman, Tomb Raider and as a final twist Cobra Kai. Lucy kicks off the drinking with 'Easy Tiger', a Left Handed Giant x Garage collab. Ben also starts with a collab from Fourpure x Little Creatures, 'Portside'. The collabs continue as and Lucy has 'The Sky Was Pink' from Siren x Deya. Ben breaks from the collabs to have a German beer from Gruthaus, the 'Heller Honig Bock'. Lucy and Ben will be at Bristol Craft Beer Festival this Saturday (15/09/18) so come and say Hi if you're around.

For another week Lucy and Ben have played the same game and start the episode chatting about 'Behind Every Great One' from Deconstructeam. Lucy talks about the much looked forward to 'The Messenger' and Ben gets into 'Two Point Hospital'. Game talk takes a break with an intervention from Jurassic Park before concluding with brief thoughts on 'Far: Lone Sails' and 'Bad North'. Lucy kicks off the drinking with the Beerbliotek's 'Goteborgswits' #186 whilst Ben drinks 'Some Fifty Summers' from Verdent. Our second beers are Mad Hatter 'Heart Shaped Tears' for Ben and Veto 'Schokobar' for Lucy.

Not only have we all managed to get together, but we've all played the same game and discuss, at length, Donut County. We move into a discussion about expensive beer following an article in the Sun and a rebuttal by Tiny Rebel Brewing. As Ben has only played Donut County this week Aadil swiftly jumps into his thoughts on the Magic: The Gathering Arena Beta and Lucy rounds us out with a final word on Guacamelee 2. As a treat we've three beers each this week and, as with Donut County, we all drink the same beer first. From Quidi Vidi Brewery we have the Iceberg which is made with pure 20000 year old iceberg water. Aadil then has the 'Sleeping Limes' from Wild Beer followed by Dig Brew Co 'Mobile Homestead'. Lucy has two beers from Brew By Numbers the 10|12 Coffee Porter and the 21|16 Pale Ale. Ben has two Collabs. First from Pressure Drop and Boxcar, the 'Hazy Coalition' and then the 'Cycle City BCBF V2' from Left Handed Giant and Dry & Bitter.

Ben and Lucy have something positive to say about Brewdog (positive at least for them) to start the show off with this week. Talk quickly moves away from bar revenues to video games and starts with Reigns: Game of Thrones announcement. We move to Lucy who starts with her first impressions of Guacamelee 2 then onto the games she's been bouncing off of including Shadowgate, Prince of Persia and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Ben takes up the mantle of playing a more recent release in Moonlighter but has also started Mafia 3 which leads to a discussion on social and political issues. They finish with a little reminiscing on older games. Ben starts the episode with the 'Moormont', a colaboration from Moor Brewing Co and La Brasserie Du Mont Saleve whilst Lucy has an 'Optimo' from the elusive Dig Brewing Co. Lucy's second of the episode is from Weird Beard and Solvay Society and is the 'Death Growl' and Ben sticks with Bristol having the 'Space Hardware' from Arbor.

Ben and Lucy share a few lunch time beers today and discuss what they've been playing. Lucy continues her run of games on the Switch whilst Ben has been a super casual and played a few mobile games. The games discussed are Hidden My Game By Mom 3, Flipping Death, Alto's Odyssey, Dead Cells, Super Metroid, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and a few thoughts on backwards compatibility. Lucy drinks both the Unity x Beer52 collaboration Belgian IPA and the El Gingero from Magic Rock. Ben has Orange Velvet from Lervig and a Track x Cloudwater collaboration I'm Not Like Everyone Else.

Lucy is back, hooray! But because of an injured arm is off the beer this week. She does make up for it in a ton of games to talk about. Aadil's also been playing games and both of them have enough to make up for Ben's lack of game time since the last episode. Games discussed are The Long Reach, The Crew 2, Wildlands, Driver, Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight, Bomb Chicken, Semblance, Owlboy, Guns Galore and Canolli 2, Cycle 28, Axiom Verge, Firewatch and a big finish on Jurassic Park Evolution. Ben and Aadil drink having beers from Magic Rock, Ridgeside, Mad Squirrel and New Bristol Brewery.

Ben and Aadil get into a lot this week. Starting with an update on Picross Luna they move quickly into open world discussions talking The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption, Wildlands, The Division and The Crew 2. Ben chats around the feel of The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit which leads to talk on Life is Strange, Telltale's The Walking Dead and Steam coupons and they finish with Aadil's take on Lego City Undercover, Lego games, 80s procedural TV shows, modern serialisation, Quantum Leap being the missing link and the return of Jean-Luc Picard. Beer is drank. Aadil has the 'Easy Peeler' from Four Pure and the 'Triple Fruited Gose' from North Brewing. Ben starts with Pressure Drop's 'Parachute' and finishes with the 'One Trick Pil-Pil' from Cloudwater and Basqueland Brewing Project.

Once again Ben and Aadil discuss the absurdity of misogyny, this time from the beery side of the coin, relating to a South African brewery's branding strategy. They've also been playing some games, coincidentally both playing puzzle games. Aadil talks Picross Luna and Ben gives his first impressions of Danger Zone 2. Aadil has a theme this week and drinks 'Dutty' a Vermont style IPA from Tiny Rebel and the Vermont IPA from Browar Pinta. Ben has no such theme except that it's a warm day and drinks Ilkley Brewery's 'Juiced in Time' and another Northern Powerhouse beer, the 003 - mixed fermentation farmhouse from Wylam and Black Lodge. Aadil has returned from the frozen north to jump on the soap box with Ben and scream at people for a couple of hours. We discuss the Portman Groups ruling over the use of words on beer labelling, the big issue with twitter interactions in the gaming sphere and the absurdity of the power of a community. We also discuss Destiny 2, Celeste and PokeMMO all whilst drinking some beer. Ben has two from Wylam's Northern Powerhouse series, number 004 an American Wheat with Thornbridge and number 006 a DDH Pale Ale with Hawksehead. He finishes on the 'Deucebox' from Four Pure. Aadil starts with a 'Frambuzi' raspberry sour from Tiny Rebel followed up by Electric Bear and Gipsy Hill 'Character Assassination' and finishes with another from Gipsy Hill, the 'Moxie' spring sour.

Thinking they'd just do a quick episode after the football Ben and Lucy kick off with a quiz. They manage to hit their stride to discuss Lucy's recent beer adventures and Ben's bender of a Stag weekend. Then after several own goals and both pre-recording beers and the first podcast beer they get to the games, Celeste and Agent A. They also discuss the recent news coming from Beavertown. Ben starts with the Cloudwater 'IPL Cashmere' and Lucy the Twisted Barrel 'Detroit Sour City'. Ben once again has a beer from Poppels Bryggeri, the WIPA whilst Lucy drinks Patrons 11.01 'Made In The Dark' from Northern Monk and Lord Whitney (Houston).

Ben and Lucy get together for a short episode today just to chat two games, Hollow Knight and Doom. Of course this spirals into other topics but as only Ben is drinking it's a pretty tight show. Ben drinks, from To Øl, the 'Nul' a Zero IBU India Pale Ale

Ben and Lucy return to discuss their highs of E3 and the games they've been finding time for at this super busy time of year. Lucy has a few games to chat through in Hollow Knight, Shape of the World and Yoku's Island Express. Ben's only found time for one game, Xcom 2. They move on to talk through their favourite games and moments from this years E3 conferences. We started with 2 beers each but quickly found a third with our extended E3 chatter. Ben starts with the Two Tribes 'Material World' APA, has the Poppels Bryggeri 'West Coast IPA' then reaches for the only beer left on his shelf the Verdent and Cloudwater collab Swifts and Swallows DIPA. Lucy begins the night with the St Francis 'Kromme River' witbier followed by Brewdog and friends 'Eight-Bit' and finishes with a Cloudwater and Square Mile Coffee Roasters 'Yandaro' Imperial brown ale.

Aadil, Lucy and Ben take on the Cannonball Run. Three big beers from Magic Rock, Human Cannonball DIPA, Neo-Human Cannonball NE DIPA and the Un-Human Cannonball Triple IPA, are drank and spoken about at length. But that's not all. We have a huge E3 show, where predictions and wants are discussed as well as chat about the leaks and reveals so far. It's a big one this week.

We have a big discussion around the new short, narrative experience from Bithell Studio, 'Quarantine Circular'. It then does well at creeping its way into almost everything else we discuss this week. Lucy also chats Shift Quantum, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon and Castlevania whilst Ben's been battling against Mass Effect: Andromeda. They both have two beers this week. Ben starts with the Pressure Drop and Verdant collab 'The Experiment Requires That You Continue' DDH NEIPA and moves onto a Cloudwater special release DIPA v3.1. Lucy has two Milkshakes from Unbarred Brewery, the Milkshake IPA and the Honeycomb Milkshake Pale.

The internet is all up in arms about the inclusion of a woman, a woman! in the new World War 2 set Battlefield V. We dig out the internet for it's absurdity. We've also got games. Ben's played 'What Remains of Edith Finch', Aadil's played 'Knights of Pen and Paper +1 edition' and Lucy gives us an Indie lightning round which includes 'A Case of Distrust', 'Homo Machina' and 'The Adventures of Elena Temple'. To drink Lucy has two beers from Dark Revolution including 'So:LA' and 'Supersonic'. Aadil sinks the Partizan 'Rowen Tree' and the Plain Porter from Porterhouse. Ben has the 'Liquid Sex Robot' from Lervig and 'The Great Cornholio' from Tiny Rebel.

This week our heroes continued to record their nonsense after episode 118, they all just wanted one more beer. Ben and Aadil drink an 'Illicium' Imperial Milkshake IPA from Wander Beyond whilst Lucy has a 'Green Eyed Monster' Northern Monk Patrons 6.05 which is gluten free. We talk Willem Dafoe, games, movies, sexiness, saxiness, sex scenes, being desensitised, emotional moments, Overwatch porn, Theodore Rex, James Remar, the worst TV shows and much more.

Ben, Aadil and Lucy start this episode half cut, Lucy's been to a Siren craft beer tap takeover whilst Ben and Aadil have been drinking and playing the Nintendo Switch. They continue on their quest, through the episode, to drink as much as they can. There are plenty of games to discuss and beers to drink. We touch on Mario Kart 8, Sonic Mania, Golf Story, Homo Machina, God of War, Garage, Everything, Beyond: Two Souls, Detroit: Become Human demo, Heavy Rain and Genital Jousting. Ben and Lucy are back to drink and chat about video games. Lucy isn't feeling great so she hasn't got a beer tonight and sticks to the water. Ben however makes up for it and smashes back a Kokomo Weekday IPA from our friends at Good Chemistry Brewing. We have another episode where we dive into one game. That game is Uncharted: Lost Legacy.

Ben and Lucy get into God of War to give their thoughts after both smashing through it. They discuss what they liked, what they didn't and what they think may be in store for future instalments. We drink, of course. Ben starts with a 'DOPA' from Unbarred Brewery and follows with Loka Polly 'El Dorado Mosaic IPA'. Lucy decides to drink two stouts the Belching Beaver 'Beavers Milk Stout Nitro' and a 'Leann Follain' Extra Irish Stout' from O'Hara's.
