Tanked Up

Whilst Lucy has a week off the beer, Ben and Aadil delve into the All Together collaboration hosted by Other Half to support local hospitality professionals. They chose the same two beers to drink which come from Pipeline Brewing Co and Mondo Brewing. There's also plenty of gaming chat with Lucy having thoughts on Huntdown, Winding Worlds and VirtuaVerse from which Ben poses a question about Cyberpunk as a genre. Aadil raises the issue with digital libraries and Ben finishes by discussing the few hours he has spent with Disco Elysium.

There are games and beers galore this week (like every week). Ben kicks off the drinking with Sensei from Deep Creek, Aadil drinks Free Verse from Virginia Beer co and Lucy has Verdants Some Fifty. Initial thoughts on John Wick Hex and Deliver Us The Moon are shared and Lucy has finished Fire Escape. Second beers are cracked with Ben drinking Karpo from Alpha Delta Brewing, Aadil having Dia de Los Muertos from Ora brewing and Lucy finishes on a stout from North Brewing co X Dugges Bryggeri. Talk turns to the Tony Hawk 1 & 2 remaster, old games from Wrestling to The Simpsons. Lucy finishes with her thoughts on Draw a Stick Man 3 and Animal Crossing corner returns.

Lucy, Aadil and Ben get together to discuss their weeks in videogames and sink a few choice beers. They start with some beers, Lucy has Millionaire by Wild Beer Co, Aadil drinks Full Circle Bre Co's Lake of Stars and Ben has the Amundsen X Finback collab Fade to Green. Firstly Ben and Lucy have been playing Streets of Rage 4 whilst Aadil has been exploring Steam Remote Play. It is a lengthy discussion and leads straight into the second round of beers. Lucy drinks Forward from Attic Brew Co, Aadil has White Hags Dark Druid and Ben drinks Tiny the Welder from Arbor. Talk turns to No Mans Sky, Cloudpunk (again) and Lucys time with The Flower Collectors.

We kick off with a chat on hard seltzers and what the point of them is as Lucy drinks Wild Basin from Oscar Blues, alongside this Aadil cracks open Pollys White Noise and ben drinks Brew Yorks Big Eagle 2020. We then chat online board games, monopoly and dropped internet in the time of Corona. Lucy has played Journey to the Savage Planet, Cloudpunk and Down in Bermuda and gives her thoughts. Both Ben and Aadil open another beer both drinking Dank Money from S43 Brewery. We finish on Bens review of The Shattering and talk of Aadils initial thoughts on Gris.

The gang get together to discuss more Final Fantasy 7, touch on Call of Duty Warzone and PUBG, dive into Animal Crossing New Horizons and chat a bunch of smaller release like SiNKR, Half past fate, Edgar: Bokbok in Boulzac, Monument Valley 2 and Possessions. Ben and Aadil are on the beers with Ben drinking Leviathan Brewing You and I should ride the coast and Modern Times Space ways. Aadil sinks Good Chemistry Dark Energy and Public Access Liquids On-air.

We are joined by Stephen Carter, AKA Points of Brew to discuss his new beer and gaming podcast of the same name. We discuss Final Fantasy 7, both original and remake, Sea of Thieves and Scrapers on Apple Arcade. With four of us, this is a big 8 beer show. Stephen drinks Here Be Dragons from Brass Castle and O-G Hazy from Brewdog. Aadil drinks OHaras White Haze and Imperial Biscotti from Evil Twin, Lucy has Dream Tempo from Pentrich Brewing followed by Ocata from Garage brew co whilst Ben starts on Verdants The Window.... then has Great Bitter Lake from Burnt Mill.

Still in Lockdown Aadil has taken to tending a small virtual island in Animal Crossing New Horizons, Lucy has revisited a vibrant island full of puzzles in The Witness and both she and Aadil have spent time in the sea playing In Other Waters. As we record on a Tuesday the new PS5 control pad, the DualSense was revealed. Listen as we don't know what is going on with it. The beers this week are a Cloudwater X Rock Leopard collab for Lucy followed by a Magic Rock stout. Aadil drinks beers from Blacks Brewery and Galway Bay whilst Ben has supermarket beers from Brew York and a Northern Monk X Alpha Delta Brewing collab.

This week the team get into game delays and Final Fantasy 7 Remake actually releasing in the UK a whole week early. This leads to discussing the working culture of game devs and strangely John Wick. Aadil is annoyed at the Epic Games Store whilst Ben has been playing Mutazione and A Short Hike through it. Lucy lets us know her thoughts on both Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Doom Eternal. Ben drinks Northern Helles from Donzoko and Wood, Sugar and Smoke from Left Handed Giant and Exale Brewing. Aadil has Evil Twin The Check Please and the Wylam X Deya collab Theres Nothing Wrong with Dreaming.

The first week of a proper lockdown and we're keeping sane with Jackbox Party games and Disney +. We discuss some of the good initiatives coming out of this global pandemic firstly chatting Brewgooder and their one on us programme of buying a pack to gift to an NHS worker then about Ndemic Creations working with world health agencies to create a new mode for Plague Inc. Also, Aadil has been hosting some Jackbox gaming sessions over on our Discord server, link below. Lucy is making good use of the Ring Fit and we've played a load of demos including Carrion, Hundred Days, Roki, Elder Souls and Resident Evil 3 remake. It's the end of the world as we know it and we're all drinking. Aadil, Ben and Lucy get together to discuss a plethora of topics whilst supping 9 beers between them. Discussed are the adaptation beer brewers, bottle shops and taprooms are having to take at this time and changes in the way we and game developers may work in the future. With the world resembling that of The Division we're all in need of a beer. Lucy chats about Hidden Through Time, Ibb & Obb, Death and Taxes and touches a little on House Flipper. Everyone has played the preview version of Filament an upcoming puzzle game and Aadil has jumped into the Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo. Its episode 200! Lucy came down to Bristol and we went on a bit of a pub crawl. First stop was the Left-Handed Giant brewpub. We had Kriek (Boon), Kriek Boon, All On Green (Burnt Mill & Other Half), Wide Awake (Verdant & LHG), Time Will Tell (LHG), Making Planets (LHG), and Up Late (Verdant & LHG). We spoke about Space Harrier, All of the Dooms (and mods), backwards compatibility and nostalgia, franchise vs beer naming, Dreams and asset stores, and the best TMNT games and turtle. The next stop was the Beer emporium where we had the Ripple in Time (Electric Bear) and Latte Stout (Yeovil Ales). We chatted a bit about Animal Crossing, mostly about Tom Nook's kindness. We then headed off further in the night, but stopped the remembering to record.

This week we delve into Sushi Time, Lucy actually playing the Witcher 3, Dreams and Project Spark, Setting up a new PC, Microwaving CDs, PC games from school and the news that Blizzard has some TV shows coming. The beers are from Weird Beard, Deya, Utopian, Burning Soul and St Bernardus.

It is a packed episode this week as we're all drinking and have games to discuss.
