  • Where Are You Running To?

    12/06/2016 Duración: 32min

Say HiWhen God calls to give us a task for the ministry, many, if not all, of us feel like running because we feel inadequate, unworthy and all together unqualified for the task. We are not alone. Even the Old Testament prophets felt so inadequate too. Each of us has good reason to feel unqualified because we all have our mistakes. However, our inadequacy is more than compensated by His adequacy.See Moses, when God called him from the fiery bush, Moses was eighty years old yet he felt very unqualified and inadequate. Moses gave so many excuses. In Exodus 3:11, Moses said “Who am I that I should go?” In Exodus 4:1 Moses said “But they won’t listen to me and they won’t believe me.” In Exodus 4:10, he said again “But I don’t speak good.”Despite the feeling of inadequacy that Moses felt, in the end God used Moses mightily. Through obedience to the call upon his life, he became one of the greatest heroes of the Old Testament. When God calls He knows what He sees in you and all your excuses are not adequate enough

  • Come Lord JESUS

    05/06/2016 Duración: 21min

Say HiThe time of one’s youth can be frustrating and challenging too. In Genesis 8:21, God said, “the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth” and Paul in 2 Timothy 2:22 warned Timothy to “flee youthful lusts.”Youngsters are however, endowed with much energy and are very daring with heart filled with visions of the future. Such a period is the most valuable period to serve the Lord. Solomon in all his wisdom admonished the youth to “remember now your creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say, I have no pleasure in them” (Eccl. 12:1).Examples of biblical youths to study are. Joseph who forgave those who wronged him said that his brothers meant what they did to him for evil but God used it for good and to preserve life. David was a man after God’s own heart. As a youth he exercises faith enough to kill Goliath. Josiah was a child when he became king and when he became a youth, he initiated a campaign to purge Judah of idolatry (2 Chronicles

  • The Ministry of Parenting

    29/05/2016 Duración: 28min

Say HiDuring Jesus’ earthly ministry, He had interaction with children. He treated the children with love and kindness and blessed them too. The most popular account of Jesus’ interaction with children is found in Mark 10, Luke 18 and Matthew 19. There, people brought little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them, but His disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw what was happening, Jesus was very angry with His disciples and He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” He then took them into His arms and placed His hands on them and blessed them.On some occasions, Jesus often presented children before His listening audience as an example of the type of faith adults are to have to enter into heaven. Jesus wants each of us to possess a childlike faith; that is, a pure, unassuming and humble faith is void of pretention or hypocrisy.Let us value our children as Jesus did. Let us serve them by evangelizing them, by educa

  • Righteousness Exalts a Nation

    15/05/2016 Duración: 21min

Say HiLET US DO THE RIGHT THINGIn order to understand the facts of this passage (Judges 20), we must read Chapter 19. Chapter 20 is a distortion of Chapter 19 because the Levite involved in this incident aroused the emotion of the people and made them give a jungle justice which brought about the bloodiest civil war between two brothers – the Israelites and the Benjamites. By manipulating the Israelites to avenge the injustice on his behalf, the Levite was able to unite them. But sadly, they were united for a cause that was based on lies and deception. We can learn a great deal of lessons from the passage. On the surface, we see deceit and deception at work. How dark is the heart of man seeking revenge? Judges Chapter 20 tells of a cruel and heartless man who manipulated his countrymen into taking revenge against his enemies for an act of violence which he has indirectly caused. The Levite also deceived himself of all responsibility for the death of his concubine. He hid the truth of him throwing his concubine

  • CHRISTIAN JOURNEY TO SPIRITUAL MATURITY

    11/05/2016 Duración: 41min

Say HiAnchor Scripture: HEBREWS 6:1-8INTRODUCTION-In this passage, the writer of the book of Hebrews tried to separate the boys from the men and the immature from the matured. He was trying to separate the elementary teaching from the teachings that the matured receive. You are a product of what you feed on, If you feed on milk, your strength will be limited but if you feed on meat your strength will increase. In the Church of God today, there are so many baby Christians, there are maturing Christians and also the matured Christians. THE COURSE OUTLINE OF ELEMENTRY TEACHINGS1.Repentance- Though some have been in Church for so long but they still need to be preached to like they have never heard the message about salvation. This is because their behaviour sometimes shows that sin is nothing to them. It does not matter how long you have been in Church or the number of discipleship programmes you have taken, there are some things you should not be found doing. But if you continue in this sin, it shows you are stil

  • DO NOT KEEP SILENT

    24/04/2016 Duración: 25min

Say HiWHY EVIL TRIUMPHS Going by the statement of the creator of heaven and earth, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that “the devil has come only to steal, to kill and to destroy”, one can say affirmatively that evil is inherently weak because evil does not produce. Evil only takes advantage of good men and women if it is to succeed.Evil by its nature is wasteful and destructive. It breaks, kills and destroys but it does not produce and invent. Evil survives by manipulating the good into doing its will. Most evil is done through people who never make up their minds to be good or evil. That goes to say that “when you cannot stand for something, you will fall for something.”Most of the decent men and women who fall into the sin of obedience to evil try not to make waves for resistance. They adopt the perspectives of their overlords and in the end they take up the minds of their overlords and do their will. Therefore, the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men and women to obey evil overlords.

Say HiTHE UNIQUENESS OF JESUS Jesus Christ is the most unique man in all of history. No man has ever been written about as an individual like Jesus. He was penniless yet rich in all things. He did not go to school but He was God’s wisdom. Remember, at age 12 the great teachers of the Jewish synagogues were amazed at His teachings. He was not a political official yet more popular than the kings and emperors of His day. He had no house He could call His own yet at least 12 people (His disciples) were sheltered by Him for more than 3 years and were not tired of Him.Miracles had been wrought by prophets of old before Him but none could compare with that of Jesus. At the mention of His name, Satan and the demons tremble and decaying dead are raised to life again. We can talk about His unique birth. We can talk about His sinless life. We can talk about His unique compassion. We can talk about His unique death. We must not forget about His unique resurrection from the dead. Uniquely He ascended to heaven. Of all the

Say HiFORGIVENESS The teaching on forgiveness is so hard to swallow by many people who say they are believers in Christ. Yet it is one basic truth taught by Jesus Christ Himself and found in many passages of the Bible. How easy for us to claim that the Bible is the final authority to all Christian practice and to the church. The truth is, without forgiveness, there is no freedom; without forgiveness, there is no recovery and without forgiveness, there is no healing. Nursing offence can enslave both the offender and the offended. Offence can strain relationship and reconciliation maybe denied for years. In like manner, the pain and wound that offence can cause may never be healed if care is not taken.I found these interesting quotes in a book titled “Forgive and Love Again” by John Nieder and Thomas Thompson and decided to extract the ones that fascinated me.“To forgive is to turn the key, open the cell door, and let the prisoner walk free.”“To forgive is to write in large letters across a debt, ‘NOTHING OWED’.
