If you were given the opportunity to give an account of your work for the Lord this year 2016 which is our “year of deliberate witnessing,” how well have you done? Let us bear in mind that the Bible enjoins us that each one of us will stand before the judgment throne to give account of our stewardship as to what we have done with our lives. (Romans 14:12). The Book of Ecclesiastes 12:14 even goes further that “God will bring every work into judgment including every secret thing, whether good or evil"

Say HiThe Lord has laid upon us a vital ministry till He comes back to take us home. In John 21:15ff, Jesus entrusted the task of feeding His lambs, tending His sheep and feeding His sheep to us. We cannot do anything less if we are to show our obedience to our Lord and Saviour. Also in Matthew 28:18-20, the great commission makes us to realize that we must make disciples for Christ in all the world and His presence is promised us till the end of the age. Acts 1:8 likewise promised us the power needed for this great task and the Spirit of God is still with His church. We are to preach till Jesus comes back to take us or calls us home because of the following reasons:1.Many people are still without Christ in our world. We must continue to persuade them until the rapture takes place just like Noah did until the flood came and repentance was too late.2.Some are in the church but they are not truly saved. Say HiThere is a popular saying that prior preparation prevents poor performance. Another saying goes thus, ‘failure to plan is planning to fail’. I have seen the preparation people put in when they have an occasion to attend, I have observed the energy exerted to float a business and to the passion with which an idea is introduced in the market place. The preparation put into it all these are often so demanding because no one wants to fail and the average man wants to prevent poor performance. My challenge to us this morning is how are we preparing to meet our God? No matter how long we spend on this other side of eternity, some day we shall stand before the righteous judge to render to him the account of our activities here on earth. Are you prepared? What will your score card read? Would it guarantee you entrance into God’s kingdom? We must not live like people who do not have eternity in view. When God visits His church, prepare to meet Him!
