Sinopsis
LWAF stands for Long Winded as F#@%. Because when we get together we have a lot to talk about. The podcast is Nick and Joe, longtime friends and lifelong film fans, clear out their Netflix queues and discuss what they've watched. There are so many films on Netflix and we decided to give ourselves a reason to watch them and get together to discuss them. We hope you enjoy the talks and the show.

Episode 037 Mitt (2014) & Bob Roberts (1992)

First we discuss the documentary Mitt (2014) an in-depth behind the scenes look at the two failed presidential campaigns of Mitt Romney. Then we look at the satirical mockumentary Bob Roberts (1992) directed by and starring Tim Robbins. Next we discuss our favorite politically themed movies. We give our three favorites. Lastly we head to the randomizer to see what is in store for next week.

Episode 036 Airlift (2016) & Attacking the Devil (2014)
16/01/2017 Duración: 01h04minThis week we discuss two international films the first is a war drama and the second is a documentary about a tragic medical cover up in England and in much of Europe. The first film is Airlift (2016) a film about the Iraq invasion of Kuwait, but focuses on 150,000 stranded Indian expats in the country of Kuwait. Then we discuss Attacking the Devil: Harold Evans and the Last Nazi War Crime (2014) about a dogged newspaper editor and his desire to expose a horrific story about a drug that has damaged thousands of lives. Next we head to our Against The Grain segment where we discuss films that we think go against public opinion. Joe's pick is called into question on wether or not he is actually with the grain while Nick selects one of the great directors well regarded films to say he disagrees. Next we put the randomizer back in the box for a week. With the inauguration of America's next president a week away we have decided to go with a couple of political films currently on Netflix to go with the theme of the

Episode 035 Singing in the Rain (1952) & Chinatown (1974)
09/01/2017 Duración: 01h13minFor our first episode of 2017 we go off book a little and discuss two films from our Embarrassed as F#@% segment. We initially wanted to discuss Chinatown and Gone With The Wind but with the untimely passing of Debbie Reynolds as well as Carrie Fisher we decided to swap out Singing In The Rain instead of Gone With The Wind. So we go for a couple of classics and talk about our reactions and why we think they have stood the test of time. Now we stay with the theme and reveal even more films that we are embarrassed we haven't seen. So we list films that two film lovers should have seen at this point in their lives. Get ready for another shocking revelation from Joe that once again causes Nick to get out of his chair and leave the room. Lastly we finally head back to the randomizer to see what films we will tackle for the next show. Of course the choices include a documentary and a foreign film.

Next we have a Take My Money segment where Nick and Joe tell hollywood the films that they want to see get made. Joe has a beloved film from his childhood that he would love to see remade and Nick has a video game that he thinks is rich with material for a film. First we discuss Guilty (Talvar) (2015) a film from India based on a true crime where they walk through the case from many people's very different perspectives. Then we discuss Mr. Nobody (2009) a film that tells the story of one man's life following the many possible tangents his life could have gone. It's a fanciful and amazingly creative film. Then we head back to our Hidden Gems segment. We are discovering lots of interesting films through the podcast and we like to suggest some other hidden gems you may have missed. Joe has an overlooked comedy from 2007. While Nick has a a film from the late Curtis Hanson that needs to be seen. Lastly we head back to the Randomizer to see what we have in store for us next week.

Episode 25 Justice League: WAR (2014) & E-TEAM (2014)

An animated take on the forming of the Justice League to defeat the intergalactic villain Darkseid. Then we have another story of teaming up with E-Team (2014) a sobering documentary about the Emergency Team that works for the organization Human Rights Watch. In our next segment we have a variation of our I'm Right You're Wrong quiz show, but with an all new take as we quiz each other on well known (and some lesser known) film quotes. Lastly we head to the randomizer to see what is in store for next week. We then go to our Take My Money segment where Nick and Joe tell Hollywood films that they would love to see get made. Nick has a fresh idea and wants to see a re-teaming of two cinema icons. While Joe wants to see one of his favorite video games adapted for the screen. Lastly, as always, we head back to the randomizer to see what's in store for next week.

Episode 023 Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me (2013) & Samsara (2011)
23/08/2016 Duración: 01h20minThis week Nick and Joe discuss two documentaries, although one defies the definition. The first of which is a traditional doc about the cult band Big Star and follows their career and critical success in Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me (2013). Then we discuss the transcendent and visually stunning Samsara (2011). The film is a perfect marriage of sound and image and had both Nick and Joe bowled over by it's beauty, meaning and overall craft. It is one of the best films we have seen to date. Then the quiz show I'm Right You're Wrong makes it's third appearance and Nick comes firing out of the gates ready to take a win. Then as always we go to the randomizer to see what's in store for next week but we also announce a brief hiatus as we will be taking a couple of weeks off but will return strong with all new episodes very soon!

Then we discuss In The Loop (2009) a British comedy that looks at the inner workings of the British and American governments in the lead up to a war in the Middle East. Then, since Brian's blog focuses on championing little seen films, we go to our Hidden Gems segment. Brian has a pair of Albert Brooks gems that are currently on Netflix, Nick wants you to check out an animated French film and Joe has a film that features James Gandolfini that you should see. Then, as always, we head to the randomizer to see what's in store for next week.

Nick would like to see a pair of cinema icons finally meet up with a film starring Kieth David and David Keith. While Joe would like the DC standalone Batman film be based on The Long Halloween graphic novel. Then we head back to the randomizer and see what is in store for next week.

We both go with comedies as Joe thinks The Cable Guy (1996) is underrated and Nick thinks Spies Like Us (1986) is also wildly overlooked. Episode 019 Darkroom (2013) & Tricked (2013)

We had originally planned to discuss two films The Whale and Retribution, but due to a crazy summer schedule we had to go to a previously recorded but unreleased episode instead. So, this week we air an episode that we recorded way back in April but since the films were both very dark in tone and one was poorly made we chose not to air the episode. We had held on to the episode for a podcasting emergency and this week the need arose. So we discuss the torture-porn-esque horror film Darkroom (2013) and a documentary about the world of forced prostitution in America with the film Tricked (2013). Next we have a Hidden Gems section where Nick discusses a film he found flipping through Netflix and Joe has a serendipitous choice with a Paul Greengrass film the same week that Bourne 5 is released. Episode 018 A Place at the Table (2012) & Who is Dayani Cristal? (2013)

Next we discuss Who is Dayani Cristal? (2013) a film that looks into the immigration issue through the lens of a body that was discovered by border patrol agents in the desert outside Arizona. We then move on to a familiar segment with Big Boy's Don't Cry. The segment where we aren't afraid to talk about the films that have made us cry. Nick's choice is a film we discussed recently while Joe goes to some classic Pixar characters for his choice. Lastly we head back to the randomizer to see what is in store for next week.
