The Mixtape: DJ Lady Shaka

Since 2018, she's been carving out her own unique space in the global scene, living in London and establishing herself as a Pacific club queen, indigenising dance floors. In 2023, she was awarded the Creative New Zealand Award for her ground-breaking work in shaping contemporary music that transcends traditional genres within the Pacific Islander community. On top of her DJing prowess, she's also a talented dancer, having honed her skills as a former member of Parris Goebel's Royal Family dance group - a talent she brings to life in her Boiler Room sets around the world.

Nitin Sawhney on A.I, protest and his musical languages

Mokotron on music's role in decolonisation
