State of Play Was Very Good, But People Still Have to Complain - Episode 377
21/02/2025 Duración: 01h30minSony's latest State of Play presentation was, in our eyes, a very good one! From a dope looking new 2D Shinobi game from the developerss of Streets of Rage 4, to the fantastic looking Tides of Annihilation, as well as the reveal of Housemarque's next game, and seemingly spiritual successor to Returnal, Saros, there was a lot to get excited about! However, because the internet is the internet, not everyone feels like the same, and people need to just be mad about something no matter what. Nevertheless, the guys run through everything that was covered and give their thoughts on how the show fared overall. Oh also, Sean is an idiot and couldn't figure out how to turn his mic on for the first 45 minutes that they tried to record, so they lovingly relive that for all of you to kick things off. Enjoy!Start - 00:00Housekeeping - 00:10Sean Couldn't Turn His Mic On... 19/12/2024 Duración: 02h11minOver the past few years, the two editions of Keighleyfest we get each year (Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards) have been overhyped and undercooked. Trouble in Paradise - Episode 369
06/11/2024 Duración: 01h14minThe seemingly inevitable has finally happened, as Sony made it official that Concord would not be returning in any form, while also announcing that they have shut down Firewalk Studios barely a year-and-a-half after acquiring them. Neon Koi, formerly known as Savage Game Studios, was also shut down despite Sony stating that Mobile gaming remains a focus for their business. On top of all that, word broke late last week that Brian Horton, Creative Director for Insomniac's Wolverine, had left Insomniac to take over as Creative Director for Perfect Dark at The Initiative. To put it mildly, there seems to be trouble in paradise over at PlayStation, and the guys give their thoughts on all of the moves. Tango Gameworks is Back From the Dead, While Bungie is Dying - Episode 364
16/08/2024 Duración: 01h18minA few months ago, Xbox shocked the world with a series of studio closures including the beloved developer of Hi-Fi Rush, Tango Gameworks. This past week, news that was nearly as shocking broke that Krafton, publisher of PUBG and The Callisto Protocol, had acquired Tango as well as the rights to Hi-Fi Rush. On the other side of the spectrum, it was recently announced that Bungie was laying off over 200 people, canceling projects, and having some of their functions absorbed into PlayStation. Big Changes w/ Game Pass & Our Shadow of the Erdtree Addiction - Episode 362
19/07/2024 Duración: 01h21minThe big question around Game Pass ever since the ABK acquisition, other than "Will Call of Duty come to Game Pass?", has been "Will Xbox raise prices on Game Pass?" We now have that answer, and it is yes. The pricing isn't the only thing changing though, as Microsoft has taken the bold step of removing Day-One first party releases from all Game Pass tiers except for the most expensive option. On top of that, PC Game Pass players do get access but for almost half the cost of what console players have to pay. Is Xbox giving the middle finger to their dedicated console base? The other big topic for the week is Kevin was finally able to jump into Shadow of the Erdtree and he shares all of his thoughts after spending 28 hours in the DLC. Just like Sean, he is absolutely in love with it, and addicted to it. Other topics include the new Captain America trailer, and sales results in the US for May. Kevin took the opposite approach to gaming over his vacation, by purchasing Switch Online's Expansion Pass and diving head first into Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. Xbox's BEST Showcase Ever & Keighley's WORST Show Ever - Episode 360
12/06/2024 Duración: 01h45minTo say that Xbox has had a rough go of it lately would be an understatement. Because of that, Microsoft had a lot riding on their Xbox Showcase for 2024. With a true PlayStation Showcase nowhere in sight, could Xbox FINALLY get back some positive momentum? In a word, that answer was a loud and resounding YES! The guys cover everything that was announced in what was probably Xbox's best showcase of all time. From Doom: The Dark Ages, to Perfect Dark, to Fable, to Gears of War: E-Day, and everything in-between, Xbox brought the heat. Unfortunately they also have to cover Summer Game Fest Live, which may have been, in their eyes, the worst Keighley show we have ever seen. There is a lot to discuss, so let's dive right in!
