We are about to watch the New York Yankees face the Oakland Athletics in a one-game elimination death match. Yay. Naturally, we decided to do a podcast to sum up our feelings on the Wild Card game, as well as the 2nd half of the season. Also naturally, we invited former Pinstripe Alley writer and current Cut4 contributor Andrew Mearns back on the PahSahp. Was this just an opportunity for Kunj and I to yell “MEARNS!” all PahSahp long. I’m not saying it was, but I’m not not saying that as well.We discuss what the Yankees managed to accomplish this year and what they have to look forward to in the playoffs. Of course, the thing we all have to look forward to is drinking and pain and hopefully some excitement mixed in. Of course, we all decide to give our Yankees and Mitres of the second half, because that’s what we do. The answers will probably not shock you, to be honest. Especially the Mitres.

We’re back. The 1st half of the 2018 season is over. Our beloved New York Yankees finished the season with the 2nd best record in the majors. Unfortunately, we are currently 4.5 games behind the team with the best record in the majors. You know who they are. No need to sully this PahShap paragraph with their name.Greg & Kunj are hear to discuss what went right, what went wrong, and the Home Run Derby controversy. Oh, you weren’t aware of it? No worries, because that’s what we’re hear for. The good news is that not much went wrong. Again, 2nd best record in the majors. A lot went right. Did you know the Giancarlo Stanton is a New York Yankee? No worries, because that’s what we’re hear for. Finally, Greg & Kunj give their Yankee and Mitre of the 1st half. There weren’t many Mitre’s to choose from, so perhaps you’ll guess them. It’s good to be back.

Greetings greetings to one and all. Another episode of the PahSahp graces your lives with the sweet, soothing sounds of Greg and Kunj. There was plenty to discuss this episode. Gary Sanchez is mired in a miserable slump. That is sad. However, Didi Gregorius has seemingly bounced out of his slump. That is happy. Of course, we also discuss how Masahiro Tanaka will be out for a month. This is sad. Due to this, Jonathan Loaisiga will be making his debut tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays. This is happy. Well, it might be sad. We’ll have to wait until tonight to find out.Also, we get into the discussion of realignment, the playoff structure, the wild card, and potential pitchers we could acquire during the trade deadline. Oh, and the draft. That also happened. Plus, as always, the Yankee and Mitre of the week.Good times galore.

The Pinstripe Alley Podcast returns after a week off. Kunj Shah returns from his vacation and gives us all the details on the meat he ate. All of the meat. After the meat talk, we finally get into to all the good things and bad that have been going on with the New York Yankees. Case in point, Luis Severino has transcended his limitation and transformed into the legendary Super Saiyan. Has Austin Romine done the same? That might be a stretch. And by stretch, I mean that Shah just gave me the dirtiest look for even suggesting it.Also, we discuss who is currently slumping, like Giancarlo Stanton and Gary Sanchez. Slumping does not describe other players, like my boy Brett Gardner, who is gritty, gutty, and on fire. Plus, as always, the Yankee and Mitre of the Week. Some choices were more difficult than others.It’s good to be back.

We tend to bring up Robinson Cano a lot on the PahSahp, so it would be wrong of us not to discuss his latest developments. We didn’t really want to, but we’re professionals. Yes, consummate professionals be we. We’re certainly not totally goofballs or anything like that. Nope.In addition to the sad news about Cano, we talk about the slump of Sir Didi Gregorius, the promotion of Clint Frazier, and the fact that Sonny Gray pitching to Austin Romine does not mean Gray will actually pitch well. Also, it turns out that winning series after series after series after series after series after series after series is actually a sound strategy for winning the division. As of the record of this PahSahp, the Yankees had not lost a single game. Loyal PahSahpees will know that we always like to lead off with the bad. Loyal Yankee fans will know that there was really nothing bad to talk about this week. The Yankees have been playing incredible, inconceivable baseball right now. They had a nine-game winning streak, lost a game to the World Series defending Houston Astros, then went on an eight-game winning streak before that came to an end last night. The worst thing we talk about are the Mets, because oh boy did the Mets pull a peak Metsing.So what did we even talk about? Well, Neil Walker’s bat is coming alive. Domingo German pitched a gem. Greg Bird is starting his rehab and he should be back up soon. CC Sabathia says that he will probably retire if the Yankees win it all this year. Gleyber Torres looks very comfortable on defense and offense. All that, plus the Yankee and Mitre of the week, even though it wasn’t easy selecting a Mitre. It’s hard to choose a Mitre when the tea

I wanted to double check this fact just to make sure it was 100% accurate before typing it. What is that fact, you might ask? Since the recording of Episode 107 of the Pinstripe Alley Podcast, which was April 20th, and today’s posting of this week’s episode, the New York Yankees have only lost a total of two games. Two. Games. I think it’s safe to say that the Yankees are playing decent baseball as of late.Greg and Kunj discuss said decent playing of the baseball. First things first, the injury updates of Jordan Montgomery, Jacoby Ellsbury, Clint Frazier, Jacoby Ellsbury, Greg Bird, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Jacoby Ellsbury. Following that, the better stuff. The bullpen, the starting pitching, Gary Sanchez, Didi Gregorius, Domingo German, and much more. It’s been such a good couple of weeks that it was not an easy task picking a Mitre of the Week. Everything is going well. Here’s hoping it’s still going well when we record Episode 110.

Wiggity wiggity what’s up everyone. Another episode of the Pinstripe Alley Podcast coming at you. There were a lot of great topics to discuss on this week’s episode of the PahSahp. There were some bad topics of course, like Sonny Gray. Gray has been not good. Unproductive. Mehtastic, if you will. Thankfully we get him out of the way early to discuss the happier stuff, like Miguel Andujar, Gleyber Torres, Didi Gregorius, Aaron Judge, and the rest of the offense. You know the offense I’m talking about. While the offense is rolling right along, the defense could use a bit of work.The Yankees are hotter than hot right now and they are fun to talk about. Both Greg and Kunj’s Mitre of the Week were easy to pick. The Yankee of the Week was a bit harder, because there were so many choices. All in all, good times. It has been quite an opening month for the Yankees that we love. While they are playing over .500, barely, they are not exactly playing the best of baseball. What I mean is that the lead the majors in errors. They might also lead the league in baserunning mistakes, also known as TOOTBLANs. Also, Giancarlo Stanton has gotten off to a slow start, especially at home. It’s not exactly fun to watch. You know what’s fun to watch though? Dingers! Greg and Kunj discuss the latest news, like the Yankees potentially calling up Gleyber Torres. Gleyber has been hotter than hot, AKA hotHotHOT, in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. This has led many to think that he won’t be down in the minors for too much longer. Also, as always, the Yankee and Mitre of the Week.Okay, I won’t lie. We also get into a Robinson Cano and Starlin Castro discussion, because we love torturing ourselves. Yep. Still not okay with it at all.

As you may or may not know, Kunj and I like to record this podcast on Wednesday nights. Why Wednesday? Why not Wednesday? Anyway, moments before we are about to begin recording, the Yankees and Red Sox clear the benches and get into a brawl. Needless to say, it was pretty easy to decide what topic we would lead off with on this PahSahp episode.In addition to discussing the brawl, today’s episode of the PahShap takes a look back at how Giancarlo Stanton, Gary Sanchez, Aaron Judge, Sir Didi Gregorius, and some of the other Yankees are doing. We also look at the injuries that have taken place, like Brandon Drury not disclosing his migraine issues over the years. Bad Drury. Bad. Finally, as always, Shah and I give our Yankee and Mitre of the Week. Seriously though, what are the chances that a fight breaks out right before we record? It’s dumb and oddly fortuitous. So, uh, thanks I guess? Oh, and screw the Red Sox.

We’ve finally made it, ladies and gentlemen. It’s Opening Day. I don’t know about you, but I’m excited. The game isn’t on for a while, so you should pass the time by listening to the one and only Potato Alley Spudcast, in which Greg and Kunj discuss a giant tater tot on a stick and other various, delicious forms of the perfect and palatable potato. That’s it. That’s the entire podcast.That is not the entire podcast.Our PahSahpers also discuss the loss of Greg Bird, as well as the much better, non-Chris Carter-y depth they have to keep them afloat at first base. Tyler Wade and Tyler Austin have a chance to shine. They also discuss the new food items at Yankee Stadium this year, as well as answer fan questions and give their Yankee and Mitre of spring training. The hype is absolutely real. Yankee Baseball is back today. 

Tyler Wade has earned his place on the Yankees’ roster. Miguel Andujar will be starting the season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Greg can’t remember if the Red Sox really did much to improve other than JD Martinez. Alex Cobb signs with the Orioles. Aaron Judge still punishes O’s pitching. Shah and I also discuss our issues with MLB doing what they can to make it legal to skirt federal labor laws in regards to paying minor league players a livable wage. Yay.Also, Greg bring you a spoiler on his crazy pick for the Pinstripe Alley Pre-Season Prediction post, which will be up eventually. Good times are in store.

The Yankees signed Neil Walker. They also traded for Giancarlo Stanton, which is pretty neat. Join Greg and Kunj as they discuss the new signing and what that means for the second base competition.Also in the episode of the newly christened PSAP (pronounced Pah-sahp), managing editor Tyler Norton joins us to talk with special guest Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. The two of them discuss Hoch’s recently released book, The Baby Bombers: The Inside Story of the Next Yankees Dynasty. Hoch goes into a bit of detail regarding how the book came together, not to mention letting us know that Hal Steinbrenner and others in the front office do indeed check the fan blogs. Also learn which Hoch prefers, pancakes or waffles. You know, the important stuff.

For our first podcast of the year, we welcome new host Kunj Shah. Kunj brings with him years of link dump knowledge and absolutely zero podcasting experience whatsoever. Some might call him the Aaron Boone of the Pinstripe Alley Podcast. Others might call him the non-Mearns. The important thing to remember is that Giancarlo Stanton now plays for the New York Yankees.In this week’s episode, Kunj and I discuss the Yankees’ offseason, the various competitions going on for the infield and CF, Giancarlo and Judge, Gary, and cookies.

You knew we weren't going to miss the Festivus tradition. The PSA Podcast returns with Greg, Caitlin, special guest Andrew, and most importantly, the departing Tanya, as they find that the Yankees' incredible 2017 season offered wayyy more feats of strength than the kinds of grievances aired in years past (we don't miss you, Stephen Drew). Oh, and the Yankees traded for freaking Giancarlo Stanton. That was also a thing.All hail Judge, the biggest beefy baseball boy.

Two days prior to Opening Day, the podcast crew reconvenes to talk Greg Bird (of course), Baby Bombers, the 2017 Yankees in general, and sea aliens watching Jacoby Ellsbury in the outfield during the apocalypse. Aroldis Chapman is back and will be a Yankee until at least the end of the decade. After the news broke late Wednesday night, Tanya and I did an emergency podcast. There are so many problems with this, even if one is ignoring the domestic violence issues (which we don’t). So... we had a lot to say about him, the state of the Yankees, how much paying for a closer actually makes sense, and also the uncertain future.Once again, don’t @ us.

We did not miss much since our last podcast! The Brian McCann trade happened (farewell, #dale) and some minor roster moves happened here and there that came up during the podcast. We complained about the free agent market and how next year’s isn’t looking so hot either. So it goes.
