Hizbullah is aiming to subtly take control of Beirut international airport  according to a new report compiled by the Alma Research and Education Center. “Hizbullah's major objective at the moment is to take control of the international airport in Beirut,” said the report. MK Gilad Kariv of the Labor party says that the government has become more violent in its efforts to push through the judicial reform and that social protests were more than legitimate to stop it and its blow to Israel’s democracy. The protest movement against the judicial overhaul are planning an unprecedented Day of National Disruption for Tuesday , July 11th, as the government presses ahead with the controversial legislation.  Fourteen people were hospitalized after police used water cannons and horse charges to disperse protestors who blocked the main Tel Aviv Ayalon highway on Wednesday night  following the dramatic resignation of Tel Aviv police chief Ami Eshed. Commander Eshed said he refused to follow orders from national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir for a tougher stance against the ongoing protests. The 40th Jerusalem Film Festival  will run from July 13-23 at the Jerusalem Cinematheque and other venues around the city. It  features movies that have won top prizes at such festivals as Cannes, Berlin, Venice, and Toronto and  includes movies by some of the most celebrated filmmakers working today. Helen  Mirren, one of the international guests,  will receive an achievement award at the festival, celebrating her latest film — “Golda,” which will open the festival. One of Mirren’s fellow achievement awardees is Oliver Stone, the iconic filmmaker whose latest documentary, “Nuclear Now,” about climate change, will be presented at the festival. France has seen a quieter night of protests over the death of a teenager shot by police at point-blank range, the interior minister says. There were fewer arrests compared to previous nights - 719 - with the worst clashes in the southern city Marseille. In a Paris suburb , attackers rammed a car into the house of the mayor, injuring his wife as she tried to flee with their two children. French cities have seen unrest since the police shooting of a  Nahel M, 17, was shot during a traffic stop on Tuesday. Large crowds turned out for his funeral on Saturday. Around 45,000 police were deployed across the country for a second night on Saturday. Prof. Anna Geifman, an expert on Russian affairs at the political science department at Bar Illan University, says that the worse thing Russians fear is uncontrolled civil war which could explain the dramatic pace of events that went from tens of thousands of soldiers marching on Moscow to the disbanding of the force in just a few hours. She said that the pace of events in Russia were dominated by randomness and irrationally. The Yesha settlers council has welcomed the decision to advance  plans for some 5,700 new homes for Jewish residents in Judea and Samaria. Washington says it is deeply troubled by the  decision by the Israeli government advancing plans for some 5,700 new settlement homes in the  West Bank.  A US national security spokesperson denounced the decision, saying it "undermines the geographic viability of a two-state solution, exacerbates tensions, and further harms trust between the two parties". According to the anti-settlement group Peace Now, the last six months have seen more than 13,000 settlement homes advanced in the territory - about three times as many as in the whole of last year.
