Rejoice!  Short Treks are here!  New Discovery!  But are Short Treks actually Discovery!?  Just one of the many thorny issues Jack and friends are diving into as they luxuriate in the first new Silvia Tilly footage in MONTHS.  Other topics on the table:  Classic TV Tropes that Short Treks have no interest in discontinuing,  the fate of 3D movies, Mad Max: Fury Road, when this Short Trek takes place (a subject of particular interest to a reinvigorated Continuity Carlos), what internet memes are like on sentient cat planets, insect larvae, and good ol’ Stephen King and Philip K. Jack is back with Barm again to talk about the third original novel based on the explosive new CBS All Access series, Star Trek: Discovery!  As with every other Star Trek: Discovery book, this one does not follow the crew of the Discovery.  Instead, it focuses on a tale as old of time: a Kelpien learning to overcome his fear.  In that vein, we’ll be talking about fear chubs, the ol’ Constitution Class, Goro & Mortal Kombat, Saurians, the original Saru make-up, Tholians, the Peliar-Zel and their role in TNG and DS9, and all the latest (as of three months ago) trailers and Season 2 news.  This is, without question, the single most exciting podcast you will ever hear.

Just in time for Short Treks, it’s another amazing episode of Drunk Star Wars, with Kregg Castillo!  (Don’t worry, we’ll be talking Short Treks soon).  Jack and Kregg are reversing the format, as this time JACK is the one who is drunk and seeing the film for the first time!  Boy, is he drunk!  Listen to him over explain the same things repeatedly and SHOUT about Darth Maul!  It’s the hottest of hot takes as these two boys are recording this straight after getting home from theaters!  (Yes, that’s how long ago this was recorded).  What should we drink to?  Let’s drink two (hundred) and see what happens!

Jack and Barm are finally back to talk about the literary EVENT of 2018, Dayton Ward’s Star Trek Discovery: Drastic Measures, and this is no Carlos prank this time.  It’s the real deal, and they are having a blast talking about a book that they don’t really care about very much, starring one immediately dead character from Discovery, and a mirror version of another who technically has never appeared in the show, on a crazy mission in the past to stop another character who appeared in one episode of a different Star Trek show.  But why waste time talking about the plot when we can really dig into Dayton Ward’s unusual writing style and his propensity for going into great detail about the hair and ethnicity of every new character we meet?  And then just talk about  Lord of the Rings for a while?  Ahh, it’s good to be back!

Jack’s Silly Little Friendly Neighborhood Star Trek Discovery Podcast is BACK!  Remember Star Trek: Discovery?  It’s back.  In book form.  Jack roped old friend and most frequent guest Barm into reading the first Discovery novel, David Mack’s Desperate Hours, and they’re here to report to all you Discoverinos with their findings.  Despite the title, Discovery is nowhere to be found here, as David Mack brings us to a point a year before the show where the USS Shenzhou finds itself assigned to a joint mission with none other than the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain Pike and crew.  In the midst of our lively discussion about the many merits and several flaws of this entertaining read, we’ll touch upon Barm’s history with the 2001 “franchise”, David Mack’s valiant yet silly efforts to make Discovery fit better into Star Trek continuity (which Carlos has thoughts on), how the book has made us reevaluate our feelings on how season one played out, and our history with Star Trek books in general!  We’re

Hey its Carlos jack let me do a episode of the show, its a xmas episode.  We are going to be talking about xmas and continuity it’s a really fun show ur gionna love it I think.  Im talking about signfeld and how stupid it is because of all the mistakes in it and how its not really a good show and I don’t now why it is so popular.  I wanted to talk about the last jedi but jack said I cant also he wouldnt help me edit the show or write this so maybe it doesn’t sound as good but the content is really good and im still learning how to do this so bare with me lol J  It’s a really good xmas episode and I think its a treet for all the fans , I really hope you like it tell me if u liked it
