Barack Obama is an odd bird in American presidential politics.  Not because he's black, but because he is so far out of the norm that he doesn't instinctively follow all the standard moves.  American politicians have a certain standard set of rituals, just as American baseball players do.  A Russian shot-putter who switched to baseball would just look different. The examples of Obama's subtle oddities are many.  The biggest ones are his deep, public bows to foreign potentates, an act that alienates him from more than two centuries of American public behavior.  Those showy bows were not accidental. George Orwell, our greatest political sociologist, has some ideas.  He is the master explainer of governance, power, totalitarianism, education, and the dynamics of class warfare.  It's an ugly picture. In his seminal essay, "Ignorance Is Strength," Orwell lays down the iron rule of history: "Throughout recorded time, and probably since the end of the Neolithic Age, there have been three kinds of people in the world[:] High, Middle, and Low."  

On August 20th, President Obama almost blew it. "The American people have assumed that if you want to be president of the United States that your life's an open book    (pause)   when it comes to things like your finances," he told reporters in an impromptu press conference at the White House today. The moment was glaring.  He almost called for full disclosure of the pasts of candidates, then quickly smoothed it over and qualified the comment to "finances".  

The 2012 election season has shifted from primary politics to the general election. Summer has nearly ended and the Olympics finished. The media will now set their sites on the candidates. General elections generally sours the public as they suffer the endless cycles of attack ads.

At the conclusion of his film 2016: Obama's America, producer and star (or featured narrator, if you will) Dinesh D'Souza asks viewers whether we will pursue the American dream or Barack Obama's dream. That dream, as D'Souza argues, is the defeat of oppressive colonialism that manifested itself in the rise of the United States as the dominant world power at the expense of the third world.  In short, Obama seeks to right the wrongs identified by the most radical Communist sympathizers and activists of the post-World War II world, with Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. chief among them.  D'Souza, utilizing Obama's first autobiography, Dreams from My Father, takes viewers along for a journey into Obama's upbringing in Hawaii and Indonesia, and then to his alleged self-discovery in Kenya at his father's grave.  

Lubbock County Judge Tom Head explained why it is necessary to raise the tax rate by 1.7 cents the next fiscal year, one reason being that the sheriff needs to expand his staff. Judge Head said he and the county must be prepared for many contingencies, one that he particularly fears, is if President Obama is reelected. “He's going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the UN, and what is going to happen when that happens?,” Head asked. “I'm thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we're not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we're talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy.

Let's go there: if Obama thinks he's losing, will he allow safe and fair elections on November 6?  And if he does lose, will he peacefully turn over power to Mitt Romney on January 20, 2013?  Or will he cling to power "by any means necessary," as a highly placed insider alleges?

Now, I'm truly sorry to raise such disgusting, un-American, crazy-sounding questions, but, alas, they're not crazy, and I've got a disquieting amount of evidence.   The Democrats have already accused Romney of murdering a woman with cancer, financial felonies, and not filing taxes for ten years.

Those who believed, in 2008, that Obama's off-the-cuff "spread the wealth around" line was indicative of his real, socialistic intentions, rather than simply a poor word choice, can now relax.  The president has finally clarified things, this time with the benefit of a script, so at last we can understand his true plans. As it turns out, his remark to Joe the Plumber was merely a gaffe after all.  For we now know that when he said "spread the wealth," what he really meant was "share the prosperity."  See the difference?  No?  Then allow me to unpack it for you.  

In a Chicago fundraiser on Sunday, President Obama observed that “too many folks still don’t have a sense that tomorrow will be better than today.”  Of course, he didn’t mention that he’s the primary reason for that.  He just got finished telling American business owners that they’re not responsible for their own success, they should stop complaining because they’re doing fine, and he’s willing to throw them off the fiscal cliff of Taxmageddon if they don’t pony up more money to fund his agenda.

This next presidential election presents a choice between two social contracts: the socialist-fascist contract of Mr. Obama and the Democrat Party1, and the limited government-free enterprise-capitalist contract of Mr. Romney2 and the Republican Party.  To help you choose your contract, please answer the following question.  A simple Yes or No will do.    

So let's see: Romney's running mate is not an Ivy League establishmentarian.  He doesn't even have a graduate degree, let alone a law degree.  His first important job in Washington was as a speechwriter for Jack Kemp, the last genuine Reaganite to run on a GOP presidential ticket.  He speaks without embarrassment about the influence of Ayn Rand -- the spiritual founder of libertarianism -- on his political views, and has even encouraged his staffers to read Rand's works.  

RULE 13: "Confound the enemy with allegations he cannot possibly disprove."  Whenever possible, turn the enemy in on himself.  Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety, and confusion.  (Watch how organizations flail helplessly when blindsided by irrelevant arguments they cannot refute.)  

Some political gaffes have a life of 24 hours. Others last a lifetime.   Obama's "you didn't build that" continues to resonate -- far more than a political gaffe. There is a reason: the implications are far bigger than his attempt to discredit the successful. He didn't simply go from "it takes a village" to "it takes a government." His statement challenges the fundamental relationship between America and its government.

THERE ARE THREE FOR CERTAIN, DEATH,TAXES AND ....HISTORY! This year’s presidential election will be about something more than this or that policy or political philosophy. The larger issue at stake is the viability of democracy itself. An Obama win will be a validation of every anti-democracy critic going back to ancient Greece.
