Interview with Olympian Rod Dixon
19/07/2013 Duración: 01h03minIn the 1980s Rod Dixon was one of the most competitive runners on the American road-racing circuit. He set world-class times in the 1500 m (3:33.9) to the marathon (2:08:59), and won bronze medals in the World Cross Country Championships in 1973 and 1982. His 1983 victory in New York City Marathon was the most dramatic finishes the event has seen, when he came from behind to catch leader Geoff Smith at the 26-mile mark and win by 9 seconds. Rod Dixon’s is the founder of the KIDS MARATHON FOUNDATION whose mission is to create a life-long commitment to good health and fitness habits in children at risk of obesity-related health problems. The program educates, empowers, and inspires 7-12 year old children to become and stay fit.

They ran step for step for over 2 hours with Dick leading until 2:06 into the final half mile when Alberto dug deep and overtook him within a sea of motorcycle cops that many feel impeded Dicks chances to respond to Alberto’s surge. Women Runners Who Rule Part II

She ran a PR 1:11:34 in the half-marathon at the World Championships and in 2002 ran 2:31:14 at the New York Marathon, 9th overall to capture an Olympic Marathon A qualifying standard. She has been a member of two US World Cross-Country Championship teams and was ranked as one of the top ten road racers in the world in 2001. She earned All-American status seven times and was recently named one of the top 50 athletes of the last 50 years in San Diego high school history. Milena currently speaks and lectures about running, fitness and training, and is deeply rooted in the national and international running and sports community. She holds a board member position at the San Diego/Imperial Chapter of USA Track and Field Her expertise has made her one of the top consultants in the industry.

Leo Manzano earned a 1500 meter silver medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games (3:34.79); the first American to do so since Jim Ryun's silver in Mexico City 1968.
