We live in a place where there is never enough. . . money, toys, gadgets, popularity and recently, toilet paper.  Everything we want in life comes with a sacrifice. What will you sacrifice to get it? The ever-diminishing kingdom of the world charges more and more for less and less. Jesus flipped the idea of an altar on its head!  The altar that should have taken His life, only freed Him from death. Now, the New Testament altar is one of freedom, rest, hope, and most of all LIFE! Anything placed on this altar is released from bondage and returned with exponential dividends. Jesus’ death was part of an incredible plan of redemption.  God’s plan will grant forgiveness to all who repent, believe and follow Jesus.  There is only one way to become a disciple of Jesus.  Lay down your agenda, life, control and take up His cross.  If you are not living as though Jesus is Lord of your life, it’s time to fix that.  Today’s Altar is that of forgiveness. Applying the things we have learned from Scripture to Covid-19

While the Cowboy might need some help along the way, this is largely an internal journey.  Unfortunately, many never transition out of the loneliness of this stage. Jesus lived in an entirely different way.  Followers of Jesus, or disciples, must learn to live His way. That is what Jesus meant in: Matthew 16:24 (NLT) Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me. Jesus invites us into His Kingdom which is far different than the place many of us reside.  Today we will talk about how that different Kingdom produces a different way of living.

In your spiritual life as well as in your physical life, you will have to make a choice; we can choose to go God’s way, or we can choose to go our own way.  Repentance is the path that leads to salvation and is something that God requires of every human being. http://ordinaryfaith.net/sermons/live-in-the-same-kingdom-as-jesus/

Last we talked about how to love praying.  We know It is a fight to remember to pray and keep praying, but persistence is worth it. Jesus Often Spoke of Persistence in Prayer. In Luke 11 we find a review of the Lord’s prayer or the “model prayer”. Then, Jesus teaches the disciples to pray with persistence using the Parable of the Friend in Need (Persistent Neighbor).  At midnight, a man asks his neighbor for bread to feed a friend. But It’s midnight, and friendship (while great) only goes so far. Jesus said friendship will probably not be enough. But, shameless persistence will get you what you need.
