How we think about the resources provided to us by God speaks volumes about how we think of God. These resources aren't just finances, but also our time, our talents and even our relationships. None of us particularly enjoy the waiting process. Whether it's traffic, the doctor's office, for a meal, for a package, we don't particularly relish having to exercise patience. But patience is Joseph's final exam in God's testing process before his promise comes to fruition. For Joseph it took years of testing, years of hardship, but also years of learning to exercise patience to trust God's plan. Despite Joseph's displays of integrity, he is thrown in prison based on a false accusation. Despite these less than ideal conditions, Joseph still honors God with his heart and with his actions. Nobody loves being served a slice of humble pie, and God even says numerous times in His word how He opposes the proud, but shows favor to the humble. King Nebuchadnezzar receives a humiliating interpretation of a dream that he received because of his own lofty sense of self. How will we respond when God reveals our own pride and arrogance?
