Born and reared in Miami, of Cuban heritage, Onels musical environment was anchored by the music of his parents, Cuban masters, and richly influenced by the diversity of American music including Motown, funk, old school Rhythm & Blues, classical music and jazz greats, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Paquito DíRivera and John Coltrane. A graduate of the New World School of the Arts in Florida, he quickly became part of the local Miami music scene.

Sabrina is a film editor and producer who made her editing debut with an Emmy-winning episode of WGBH’s Greater Boston Arts series. She is the co-producer and editor of HIP-HOP: BEYOND BEATS AND RHYMES, a documentary about manhood and gender politics in mainstream HipHop that premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and was broadcast nationally on PBS' Independent Lens. Jessica Green is the Cinema Director of Maysles’ Cinema, host of the upcoming series on Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck. She is also associate producing an adaptation of Henry James' The Beast In the Jungle and producing a documentary on Graffiti titled Anything You Can Get Away With. She got her new media sea legs as the executive editor of BET.com from 2000 independent hip hop magazine Stress (1994-2001).

There will be subject matter experts as guests in our future shows that will assist our listening audience with the latest knowledge, skills and ability to prepare for risk reduction and hopefully ensure our family’s safety. After spending her early years in foster care, moving four times before the age of three, she settled in with her aunt, following her father’s passing. While still in elementary school Samiyyah took an interest in helping other students do well, joining “The Future Teachers’ Club” in the fifth grade. As a high school student, Samiyyah became aware her people’s struggle for freedom—witnessing civil rights demonstrations, protests, assassinations and riots—and decided she wanted to help somehow. It was in this atmosphere that she went off to Northeastern University in Boston where she majored in Education. Her stay there was short-lived, however, as she was introduced to the teachings of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and thereafter joined the Nation of Islam.
