Sinopsis
A podcast for those wanting personal development but want it made simple and easy to understand and more importantly use, take action and make a difference to your life and the world you live in.If you want to change the way you feel and the way you act and react. If you have negative emotions, behaviours, that you want to lose forever and create something special in your life then I think you will like what you hear. This genre of self-improvement, self-development and mastery of your mind has, I believe, been made over complicated and secretive and here I am de-constructing the processes into their simple forms that we can all understand and easily use. Theres no interviews just little ol me ;0)Who am I and what do I do?Paul Clough.I now love helping making changes in people and guiding them to create the life they really want. A personal look at me: The above sentence was not always the case and being the best in the financial realms of the building industry was my aim and getting there by any means. I now know this is, and was, the worst way ~ even if I did make director of one of the largest building companies in Cambridge by the age of 30. One of the major realisations came on my first ever training in hypnosis. I found that its not a win lose world and that a win win is only a low basis to live. Being true to your beliefs and coming from a place of integrity where service is paramount. This understanding together with lots of NLP skills helped create my last partnership in the building industry grow from a turnover of £800k to £16m in less than twelve years and that can only be done with giving more than expected. Another shaping of me came from two traumatic events in my life that happened within six months of each other which created a number of major changes in me and by beliefs in what is possible. I have written about my experience and how I dealt with it but more importantly it really showed me my love for my three boys and theirs for me and resulted in the step up to become a trainer of NLP (which I never intended) and my close and exciting work with two of my sons. In supporting Joseph and help create change in people in our trainings and his wonderful life changing Be your potential weekend and with Luke the continuing development of Cambridge Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis processes. My relationship with my third son Daniel just keeps getting better and better too. Not knowing how good I had become in change work in the beginning I generally studied, practiced and saw clients then things started to happen when I started to work following just my instincts. Two clients come to mind both in effect dying from the effects of what was happening to them and the way they felt and within one and two sessions respectively not only won the will to live they changed virtually in front of my eyes and being apart of that process was and is the best feeling alive. The above are just three of many brilliant learnings I have had in my life. The more formal bit Paul CloughI am a Trainer and Master Practitioner of NLP and Hypnosis and am passionate in assisting those who want to reach their full potential and his special skills form a unique foundation for success. I constantly seek and develope new skills and learnings through advanced levels of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy , Hypnosis and to improve everyone I work with.I have an understanding of the mind/body connection which enables me to create in my clients the difference that makes the difference ~ from excellence to outstanding. For those that want qualifications:Certified Trainer and Consultant of Neuro-Linguistic ProgrammingCertified Master Practitioner of NLP & Time Line TherapyCertified Master Hypnotist and HypnotherapistTogether with Luke and Joseph I have consistently strived and succeeded to create ways to improve peoples lives and give new beliefs of whats possible. Our potential is without limits ~ infinite in every way.

#396 The Ikigai Of Stretch
22/06/2024 Duración: 38minThe Ikigai of Stretch: A New Process for Change In this special, longer episode, we're diving into an extract from a Q&A Zoom call with my son, Joseph Clough. Joseph runs a program that helps people let go of their core issues like anxiety and negative beliefs. We each host two live Q&A calls a month, where we answer questions and introduce new concepts to the program. This particular session focuses on what I call the "Ikigai of Stretch." We explore the concept of Ikigai, which means finding your purpose, and how it can be adapted to help you change behaviors and emotions you don't like. This episode includes a detailed explanation of the Ikigai model, a new fourth circle, and a process I've developed to help you move from your present state to your desired state. The episode concludes with an eight-minute hypnosis process designed to facilitate this change. Make sure you're in a safe, distraction-free environment before you start, especially for the hypnosis segment. Enjoy the journey! 00:00:00" Thi

08/06/2024 Duración: 28minHow To Deal With Being Attacked Part 1 Protecting Yourself from Triggered Reactions In this episode, we dive into the mechanisms our unconscious mind uses to protect us from feeling hurt or guilty. Often, these protective reactions are triggered and lead to unnecessary conflict. I'll introduce two powerful processes to help you change these triggered reactions and respond more appropriately. This episode is split into two parts to give you time to practice the first process before moving on to the second. In part one, you’ll learn a method to reflect on past conflicts and discover better ways to respond, helping you build a more effective toolbox for personal development. FMQ 447 Can You, Do You Keep A Secret?
05/06/2024 Duración: 11minCan You? Do You Keep A Secret? I get very cross when I hear about various people in the Personal Development and hypnosis world that do not share what they have learned or created, in effect keeping it a secret from others. Yet what about us? when we find something interesting, new to us how often do we immediately find people to share it with? Maybe something you hear that creates an idea in your head do you share that with others too? Come with me for a few minutes and I'll share a simple metaphor that might make us all think differently about sharing. vAnd of course maybe you would share this episode so others will get it too 'O) https://personaldevelopmentunplugged.com/fmq-447-can-you-do-you-keep-a-secret Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. #393 Victory Speech and A View From The Balcony
01/06/2024 Duración: 26minVictory Speech and A View From The Balcony This episode is about how to achieve success. Sometimes I hear something and go YES! Someone's using the thing I was also taught because it works. And this episode is developed from listening to master negotiator William Ure and how what he said could be used to create change at the belief, emotional and behavior levels . Writing out a victory speech can help you solve problems, and formulate how you are going to achieve success and looking out from the balcony gives you a different perspective on where you're aiming for. So I've taken these separate thoughts and put them into one process which I thonk you will not only enjoy but find another way to achieve your goals and dreams. I'd love your feed back Please share https://personaldevelopmentunplugged.com/393-victory-speech-and-a-view-from-the-balcony Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 446 If You're Struggling or Lost
29/05/2024 Duración: 09minIf You're Struggling or Lost I was reminded of something so important if you're struggling or feeling lost by my middle son Luke. I caught him on a reel in Instagram sharing this message It won't last, this feeling will not last, just as those of the past didn't last. You will find a way you just need to reminded that you will and can. Come with me on this 5-miute muse and when you remember please share the message because, like you, they may keep these feelings hidden from the outside world and the people who care. Oh! #392 Feel Good and Getting Better
25/05/2024 Duración: 26minFeel Good and Getting Better it me or do we all want everything NOW! Instantaneously or even quicker.I think we've fallen into the trap that instant gratification is the thing. But if we get that then we want the next thing and the next thing and I feel we miss out. Why do we want everything instantaneously? It got me thinking how does this apply to our personal development? Our dreams and desires? Enjoying the adventure and not just the elusive prize. Then I got to thinking about therapy and how I like quick and comfortable change. Is that in conflict with the adventure of developing our true self? If you would, come follow me on this little dive of of discovery of how we can create a practice of celebrating who and where we are and being curious of what's to come. It's really not how fast. It's enjoying how good and getting better. FMQ 445 My Reminder To You
22/05/2024 Duración: 11minMy Reminder To You I don't know if it's just me but I need reminding to use what I know or at least I think I do. Over the years I, and you, have learned a lot and on the most part I think we use that learning unconsciously but every now and then I get a reminder from a podcast, a video, a book or what someone might say and I go "I bloody know that!!!! why aren't I doing it? Doh!!!" So this short muse is just that - a reminder to check that we're using all the skills we have learned to move to the next level. I hope it makes sense and that you feel able to take it in the spirit it is given and maybe share it to https://personaldevelopmentunplugged.com/fmq-445-my-reminder-to-you/ and there's also a visual in the the form of a YouTube video here: https://youtu.be/jk-2XFf4egg Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. #391 Reviewing The Past To Move Forward
18/05/2024 Duración: 29minReviewing The Past To Move Forward Now, I know what you're thinking – why dwell on the past? Isn't personal development all about the future? Well, yes and no. Here's the thing: understanding our past is like having a map. It shows us where we've been, helps us see the patterns in our journey, and guides us toward where we want to go. Think about it – when you look back at your own life, what do you see? Moments of triumph, sure, but also those stumbles and falls. And guess what? Both are equally valuable. Those victories? They remind you of your strengths and capabilities. Those mistakes? They’re not failures; they're lessons in disguise, packed with insights about what to avoid and how to navigate obstacles more effectively. Let's take a practical example: maybe you started a project that didn’t quite hit the mark. Instead of brushing it off, dissect it. What worked? What didn’t? What could you do differently next time? This kind of reflection transforms past experiences into stepping stones rather than

FMQ 444 Just One More Time Equals Success
15/05/2024 Duración: 10minJust One More Equals Success Tony Robbins once asked "of the set of 10 press ups which one is the most beneficial?" the answer "The 11th" :O) To be the best version of ourselves we know we need to stretch ourselves every day but, and I don't like buts, too much leads to overwhelm and giving up that's why 'JUST ONE MORE' works. This is a short 5-minute muse to remind ourselves it's not how much but how consistent we are gets results that build on the last result and build exponentially. #390 Changing Your attitude To Imposter Syndrome
11/05/2024 Duración: 24minChanging Your Attitude To Imposter Syndrome When you look at things differently the things you look at are different, I love that saying. So if we change the way we look at Imposter syndrome, change our attitude, Imposter syndrome changes too if not disappears. And we all suffer from Imposter Syndrome in one form or another, in different contexts, and no one escapes from it - from the rich, the famous to little old you and me. A little warning there is 4 or 5 sort of swear words near the end of the episode but they do make sense So what is it?: Imposter syndrome, a psychological phenomenon, corrodes self-esteem, creating a constant fear of being exposed as a fraud despite achievements. Individuals afflicted often doubt their abilities, attributing success to luck or circumstance rather than competence, leading to chronic stress, anxiety, and depression. This pervasive insecurity hampers professional growth, impeding career advancement and stifling creativity. Relationships suffer as affected individuals strug

#389 Creating Yours and My Greatest Moments
04/05/2024 Duración: 28minCreating Yours and My Greatest Moments I overheard someone say "My greatest successes did not come from my greatest successes but from my greatest defeats" Defeats are inevitable companions. They arrive unexpectedly, challenging our resolve and testing our mettle. However, within each defeat lies a profound opportunity for growth and learning. In this podcast episode, we delve into the invaluable lessons gleaned from our defeats and how they shape our paths towards success. Defeats are not just setbacks; they are profound teachers. They teach resilience, humility, and the art of adaptation. When we encounter failure, we are forced to confront our limitations, reassess our strategies, and emerge stronger than before. It is through defeat that we discover the depth of our determination and the power of our perseverance. Moreover, defeats cultivate empathy and understanding. They remind us that we are all fallible beings, prone to mistakes and missteps. By embracing our defeats, we foster compassion for ourselve

FMQ 442 There's Always Another Day, Hour or minute
01/05/2024 Duración: 09minThere Is Always Another Day, Hour or Minute Let's start over If you're like me we can berate ourselves so much worse than we would ever speak to a best friend. I have been known, only to me, to call myself some really harsh stuff. Does it help? Absolutely not!!!! It detracts completely what we were trying to do and what we want to do, yet does that stop us? In this 5-minute quickie I want to muse on how we can stop this with another way of thinking that I think, although terribly simple, re-frames everything. So come with me and press play - let's muse together Oh! FMQ 441 Learning by NOT Copying
24/04/2024 Duración: 12minLearning By Not Copying Or Modeling the skills you want to learn Modeling excellence involves observing and understanding the methods, strategies, and mindset of those who excel in a particular field, and then adapting and applying those insights to your own work or life. It's about recognizing patterns of success and distilling the essence of what makes someone or something excellent, rather than merely copying their actions without understanding the underlying principles. When you model excellence, you're not trying to replicate every detail of what someone else does. Instead, you're looking to extract the core principles and approaches that lead to success and applying them in your own unique way. This approach allows for creativity and innovation while still benefiting from the wisdom and experience of those who have achieved excellence in your chosen field. By modeling rather than copying, you can develop a deeper understanding of what it takes to excel and tailor it to your own strengths and circumstanc

FMQ A Twist To The Act Of Gratitude
20/04/2024 Duración: 10minA Twist To The Act of Gratitude I often feel the act of gratitude, writing those 5 things you're grateful for can end up being a little bit by rote, and the feeling just diluted. This got me thinking of how we can vary this to keep things alive. This is not a replacement just a little spicing up and gets you thinking a little deeper about what you are grateful for. Sometimes just breaking the pattern ( a pattern interrupt) can make all the difference. And feeling grateful, truly grateful makes all the difference to our lives and what we attract in them. #387 I'm Scarred and Imperfect PART 2
17/04/2024 Duración: 23minI'm Scarred and Imperfect PART 2 We've done the talk now it's the walk In the journey of self-discovery and personal growth, embracing imperfections isn't just about accepting them; it's also about engaging in the profound act of self-healing. When we confront our scars and imperfections head-on, we embark on a journey of healing that can lead to greater self-awareness, resilience, and inner peace. Self-healing begins with acknowledging and accepting our imperfections without judgment or self-criticism. It's about recognizing that our scars, whether physical or emotional, are part of our story but do not define us. Instead of viewing them as flaws to be hidden or fixed, we can see them as opportunities for growth and transformation. One of the most powerful tools in self-healing is self-compassion. Just as we would show kindness and understanding to a friend facing challenges, we can offer the same compassion to ourselves. Self-compassion involves treating ourselves with gentleness, patience, and understandin
