LeRoy Carter Jr.
27/10/2018 Duración: 35minLeRoy Carter Jr. was a Vietnam veteran, who returned to the states and struggled to get his life back on-track. He became a transient, who spent several years trying to stay out of jail for a litany of petty crimes. On the evening of Saturday, February 7th, 1981, Carter found a quiet alcove along Alvord Lake, in the scenic-yet-troubled Golden Gate Park, where he proceeded to fall asleep. The next morning, a young woman found Carter's "blood-spattered" backpack in Golden Gate Park - which she immediately turned into police. When an officer arrived at the park to investigate the origins of the bloody bag, he had no idea he was about to make one of the most horrifying discoveries in California history... Snohomish County Jane Doe
07/10/2018 Duración: 29minOn August 14th, 1977, a pair of blackberry pickers were walking in a wooded area of Everett, Washington - nearby Mariner High School and Paine Field. There, they found the decomposing body of a young woman, who had been brutally murdered. Over the next week, police focused in their investigation on a single suspect: a man named David Marvin Roth, who had confessed to a friend (and who had also been arrested a few days after the murder on unrelated charges). Eventually, Roth would be convicted for the murder of this young woman... whose identity remained a mystery. Investigators have yet to figure out who she was, and what events led her to encounter Roth on the day of her murder... The Texarkana Moonlight Murders (Part Two: The Town That Dreaded Sundown)
30/09/2018 Duración: 01h06minIn May of 1946, a violent crime unfolds just outside of Texarkana. A farm owner and his wife are shot multiple times by a mysterious attacker, who seems to have disappeared into thin air. While the assault bears a resemblance to a recent string of murders in Texas, it features a number of notable outliers; outliers which make investigators hesitant to officially name it a part of the recent spree.Over the next several decades, this case would grow cold. The murders would inspire an endless amount of theories, urban legends, copycats, and even a cult film, but the perpetrator - Texarkana's mysterious "Phantom Killer" - would never be identified.Part two of two Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a PatronThis episode features a promo from my buddy Erica, who hosts the podcast Southern Fried True Crime Music CreditsAndrew Reddy - "Ossuary"Astral Shi

Satoshi Nakamoto
12/08/2018 Duración: 01h15minOn November 1st, 2008, a 9-page whitepaper found its way online. Titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-To-Peer Electronic Cash System," the whitepaper's author clearly articulated their goal to create a decentralized digital currency. The only catch was: this author, named "Satoshi Nakamoto," was a complete unknown. Whoever they were, they had registered a domain for "bitcoin.org" in August of that year, and the publication of this whitepaper predated the official launch of Bitcoin by a mere two months. In the decade since, Bitcoin has grown to be the world's leading cryptocurrency. However, its founder remains a complete enigma, despite becoming one of the wealthiest individuals in the entire world... The Mississippi Hangings
15/07/2018 Duración: 01h07minIn October of 1990, a man named David Scott Campbell was arrested in Philadelphia, Mississippi... the same city where, 30 years prior, three civil rights workers had been abducted and murdered by members of the KKK. On his first night in prison - which, coincidentally, was also his 21st birthday - Campbell took his own life. Two years later, in August of 1992, a young man from Jackson, MS met a same fate. Andre Jones, the eighteen-year-old son of a NAACP chapter president and a Nation of Islam minister, was arrested and transferred to a neighboring county. There, he also met his unfortunate end. These two young men were just endemic of a larger problem plaguing Mississippi jails and prisons over a six-year period, from 1987 to 1993. During that time span, an unusually-high number of inmates/prisoners ended up taking their own lives... and the cause is still unknown. The Florence Salon Murders
08/07/2018 Duración: 59minOn the morning of November 6th, 2001, a customer walked into a Florence, Montana hair salon. Just inside, she would make a shocking discovery.Inside the salon, just waiting to be discovered, were the bodies of three women: 62-year old Dorothy Harris, 44-year old Brenda Patch, and 71-year old Cynthia Paulus. All three were the last you'd expect to find in the middle of a murder investigation.Over the next two decades, the investigation would focus on a number of connections: an "oddly-dressed man" seen leaving the salon that morning; a similar murder that took place in Great Bend, Kansas; and finally, a local illegal narcotics operation. But to this day, the case remains unresolved... Arlis Perry (Update)
29/06/2018 Duración: 19minIn October of 1974, a young woman named Arlis Perry was brutally murdered in the Stanford Memorial Church. Over the years, her case has been bandied about as a potential cult-based murder, has been tied to unrelated offenders such as the Son of Sam, and even became the focus of many "Satanic Panic" theories in the 1980s.I covered this story in one of the first episodes of the podcast, back in March of 2016.
