After three years away, the British Soap Awards finally returned to our screens this year, and of course, we just had to be there to experience it first hand! In this episode of the podcast, we chat about heading up to London for the weekend to star spot outside the venue before heading in to watch the recording of the awards show itself. Whenever Corrie has a massive week like it did last week, it can be difficult to keep up the momentum in the following set of episodes. After four and a half years of playing Imran Habeeb, Charlie De Melo bowed out of Coronation Street in June 2022, his character succumbing to internal injuries sustained in a car crash. In his final interview with Conversation Street, Charlie talks with us about the reasons behind his departure, what it was like to film those action packed final scenes and the memories he will take away from being at the heart of the nation's favourite Street for nearly half a decade. With the Platinum Jubilee festivities in full swing this week, we're all feeling in a bit of a celebratory mood here in the UK. To mark the occasion, we thought we'd take a look back at the past times when the residents of Coronation Street have put up the bunting and celebrated the Queen's Jubilee. From parades and street parties to even a Civil War reenactment, the Jubilee has always been an excuse to do something a bit special in Weatherfield, and the episodes are well worth watching if you can track them down. Also this podcast, we pose the question, "Who are Corrie's royal family?" and try to decide which clan stands above all others to be crowned the show's royal representatives.

For this week's bonus podcast, we tackle two more listener questions. Firstly, with the news that some of Neighbours' biggest names will be returning to the show as it reaches its final episode later this Summer, we discuss who should be brought back for one last goodbye if Corrie were to ever be cancelled. Next up, we were asked who would end up dead and who'd have blood on their hands if Mary were to host a Cludeo-style murder mystery party for all the adults on Coronation Street. Killing methods were also required for each one too, of course!

On our latest podcast, we have a natter about what went on in Weatherfield between the 16th and the 20th May 2022 (Episodes #10640 - 10645). When we started the podcast back in 2012, we certainly never thought we'd be using the words 'penis' or 'erectile dysfunction' quite so freely as we did in this episode, but with Tim's todger being front and centre this week, as it were, we really had no option. There've been mixed opinions online about some of the sexy shenanigans that went on in Wednesday's episode, but we must admit that it did make us giggle a fair amount! That turned out to be quite a big job, though, so we've ended up splitting the topic over two weeks! In this part, we take a look at some wedding related stats for Weatherfield, and comparing them to some numbers we've found for the real world. Which characters have been up the aisle the greatest number of times? Which months are most popular for Corrie characters to get spliced - and when's most common for weddings to get called off partway through? What have been the most commonly used venues for weddings in recent years, and how far back do we have to go to find one that actually took place in a church and went without a hitch, so to speak? All in all, it was a pretty good Corrie week, we thought, with a good mix of drama, comedy that was actually funny, soppy romantic scenes and characters having a good old gossip about someone else. As Daniel spectacularly fails to apologise for accusing Daisy of revealing Nicky's secret past this week, the guilt of being a nasty little scrote is starting to really weigh on Max - though we reckon there were still a lot of viewers wincing as he got himself a very nasty injury on Friday's episode! Also this week, George's big secret is revealed, Toyah gets tiddly at her hen do, and Jacob continues to prove what an asset he is to the show - and not just by making Simon look like a complete plank either! For this week's bonus podcast, we take a look at the character of Doreen Lostock, one of the original 'barm cake girls' from 1961, and who, along with Sheila Birtles, helped inject a shot of youthful energy into early original Corrie cast. Whether she was out chasing boys, dancing the twist with the volume up in the Corner Shop flat or getting into scrapes with a young Emily Nugent at Gamma Garments, Doreen was never short on energy, which is why, though only lasting on the show for a few years, she's fondly remembered by so many viewers of Corrie's early episodes.
