There is a secret to your emotional well-being. There is a feeling that you can experience in every situation. This is a feeling that you should be hooked on.  The story of 1 out of 10 lepers: Luke 17:11-19  Gratitude is the difference between being healed and being whole.  Gratitude brings spiritual breakthrough, physical health and emotional well-being. Psalm 100:4 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!” Thank you is the password to God’s presence.  Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Living a life of thankfulness will make you live longer and live better. How to grow your gratitude:1. Our emotional health is like a garden:Proverbs 24:30-34Don’t just pull weeds, plant seeds. We have to learn to respond, instead of react. How to develop positive emotions:1. Recognize that they come from God. Luke 12:32 When you’re in Christ and Christ is in you, you get all that He has. Love: 1 John 4:7 Joy: Psalm 16:11Peace: John 14:27 Fruits of the Spirit: Galatians 5:22-23 Fruit is the natural result of being connected to a source.  2. Learn to strengthen yourself in the Lord. Run to God, not from God in times of trouble.1 Samuel 30:6 Practice the presence of God. Your doing for God is only as good as your being with God. 3. Practice spiritual disciplines.Spiritual disciplines are intentional activities that promote spiritual growth. 1 Timothy 4:7 - exercise yourself toward godliness.·       Worship ·       Listening to Preaching·       Bible study. We don’t follow our feelings, our feelings follow us.  How to overcome negative emotions:1. Evaluate your emotional state.- Watch your thoughts.Prov. 23:7 “For as he thinks within himself, so he is.”If you can change your thoughts, you can change your life.  - Watch your words.Luke 6:45  2. Own your feelings. Romans 14:12 When you blame someone else, you are giving away your power to change. Blaming others as the source of your negative emotions, will ensure that you stay in bondage to them. 3. Take care of yourself.1 Kings 19:1-8  4. Deal with your woundsHebrews 12:15 “If You Don’t Heal What Hurt You, You’ll Bleed on People Who Didn’t Cut You.” - Unknown 5. Practice intentional thinking. Romans 12:2  You can fight negative with 4 thinking tools: (1)determine what you will think, (2)delay negative thinking until later, (3)distract yourself with good things,(4)declare aloud God’s truth.Talk to your feelings about the facts, your faith and your Father. Are you overcoming negative emotions?

How is your emotional health? Scripture has a lot to say about this topic. Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares how you can become emotionally healthy. 1. You are a three-part being: spirit, soul and body.1 Thessalonians 5:23 Your emotional health has to do with your soul, but is affected by your body and spirit.2. What do you need to know about the unseen realm? What is God’s will for your life?  Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares insight from scripture about how you can know God’s will. You can know the will of God because you’re told to do the will of God.Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! God wants you to hear his voice. Of course God speaks, He is literally the Word! (John 1:1). You were created to hear the voice of God (Romans 8:16). God gave you a spirit so you could talk to His Spirit. You were saved to hear the voice of God (Hebrews 8:10). What does the voice of God sound like? 1 Kings 19:12 “still small voice.” Your “silent voice” is your thoughts. God’s voice sounds like your thoughts but from a different source.  Practical Tips for Hearing God’s Voice 1. Ask. James 4:2  2. Approach. James 4:8 Draw near to God – the closer you are to Him, the better you hear from Him.  3. Listen.Psalm 46:10 In order to hear the Lord, you’ll need to lower the volume of life.4.
