Tanked Up

We made it, 250 episodes, 6 years to the month when we began. Because its a super special number we decided to do something special. We talk more and crack an extra beer. Super special. We talk Hitman 3, Control and its Foundation and AWE DLC, and Neoverse with tangents galore. To drink Lucy has Honest Promise from Whiplash, the Arbor X Bristol Beer Factory Double Milk Stout (which Aadil also drinks) and finishes with Private Functions from Boundary. This week Ben previews A Long Journey to an Uncertain End, we all chat about the Gearbox purchase, Lucy is playing Hitman 2 within Hitman 3 and has finished Tohu, and Aadil tells of his frustrations with The Medium. We are all back on the beers. Lucy opens with the 1079 Project pilsner from Aldi then drinks Snake Oil from West Berkshire Brewery. Aadil has Free Assembly's Dry-hopped wheat beer and Chai Cutter from Tempest Brewing co. Ben drinks Ermahgerd Derper from Pamona Island and finishes out the show with a Wylam X Good Things Brewing Co collab, Put A Dank On It.

This week Lucy and Aadil give their initial impressions of Cyber Shadow, the new 2D action platformer from Yacht Club Games. Aadil has also played Control and Lucy chats Heavens Vault and the new release NUTS. Ben has been getting his thirsty fix with Haven. As with the rest of January, Aadil has two beers and Ben has one with Lucy abstaining. Aadil drinks Electric Bugaloo from Tiny Rebel and a Stout from Moor Beer Co. Ben has Stigbergets Julius tribute, the Juleljus / Xmas Tribute NEIPA.

On the show this week Aadil, Lucy and Ben have all played Tiny Lands from Hyper Three Studio and have a detailed discussion. Before this the show kicks off with Aadil's thoughts on Hexia. Then after Ben has been playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Lucy finished Crash Bandicoot 4. We also get into Ubisoft being given a Star Wars game. For the beers, Aadil drinks Cthulhu on the Moon from Kaiju! beer and follows with Electric Bear 48 Hours & Counting. Ben continues his run of just one beer with Funky Fluid 6, a collab from Maltgarden X Funky Fluid.

On the show this week Lucy has a few indie games to chat having played Sunlight and started Shot in the Dark. Ben hits the backlog finishing Days Gone and playing a little Jurassic World Evolution and Doom Eternal. Aadil finishes out the show with an update on Cyberpunk 2077 and his preview of the soon to be released Kinetic Edge. To drink Aadil starts with Deya and their Today is Better than Yesterday then cracks Blow Out from Mikkeller all whilst Ben nurses Atom Brewing Co's Neutron Star.

This week we talk about Hades, a lot. As all three of us have played and have differing opinions we discuss it and then keep referring back to it. The episode starts with a little chat on dry January and what we're all doing. For games, we also talk about Cyberpunk 2077 and Monster Train, both of which Aadil has played. We then ask 'What games did you miss from 2020?' and 'What are you looking forward to in 2021?'. Also, Ben has a new computer so of course, his audio is garbage. Ben has the one beer the 'Canadian Breakfast' from Brew By Numbers whilst Aadil drinks Arbor Ales 'Pocket Rocket' and 'Komtur' from Browar Gościszewo.

In the second part of this weeks show we each run down and discuss our top three favourite games of 2020. Will there be surprises? Will we all firmly stay in our boxes and make the obvious choices? Will we be absolutely drunk and all lovey at the end? There's only one way to find out. We also each crack our forth beers of the night with Brew York, Thornbridge and Adroit Theory.

It's a two-parter this week as we run down some of our favourite games from the dumpster fire that has been 2020. Though for games it's been pretty good. In this first episode, we made up some random categories to discuss the games we wanted to. This isn't our usual top ten and plenty of games are discussed. We also all drink an excellent selection of beers and manage to get through three each in this first chunk of our discussion. The beers come from Amundsen, Pamona Island, Deya, Totally Brewed, Electric Bear, Left Handed Giant X Verdant, Brew York, Good Chemistry and Pressure Drop.

There are games and beers a plenty this week in our penultimate show of the year. Firstly, Lucy cracks open You Sexy Thing from Burning Soul, Ben has never tried Smash & Grab from Vocation and Aadil is local again with Moor Beer Company and Old Freddy Walker. Lucy then launches into the games she has played with Lab Rat, Telsa Force, Animal Farm and Call of the Sea. Ben starts to give his thoughts on Yes, You're Grace but pauses to open more beers. Lucy drinks Haunt from Whiplash, Ben has Left Landed Giant's Lit by the Supermoon and Aadil finishes with the Arbor X LHG collab Damn You Autocorrect. We end the episode with Aadil's thoughts on Cyberpunk 2077 after a few hours with the game.

This week Ben and Aadil tackle to question of what open-world games can do next to move the genre forward. This topic leads to Aadils initial thoughts on Marvels Spider-Man and Bens counter with what Miles Morales improves upon. Aadil has also been adventuring with a return to Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure and a light review of Nordlicht on Switch. To drink Ben cracks an advent beer to start with Siren Craft Brews Be Even More Pacific and follows it with Wanderlust For the Wicked, a To Øl / Fuerst Wiacek collaboration DIPA. Aadil starts locally with Hoppiness, Cross Over IPA from Moor Beer Company and finishes on The Lumberjack, Rye American Stout from Brokreacja.

This week the title in no way matches what we talk about, just a casual interjection from Aadil is the inspiration. We do however talk about The Last Guardian, Days Gone, The Solitaire Conspiracy, Into the Breach, SiNKR 2, Going Under and Gunnhildr. We also discuss an email a request made of Lucy for her digital soul. For the beers, Aadil starts with Bigger Boat (which should absolutely be in a bigger can than 330ml) from Vocation and then comes back to Bristol with Arbor Ales My Little Sabrony. Ben starts his advent beers with Citra Dreams from Captain Lawrence and drinks, the now Jawa related, Luchini from Pamona Island.

It is just Aadil and Ben this week discussing what they have been playing over a few beers. There is more talk of Spider-Man Miles Morales, Hades and a quick trip to Myst. The Last Guardian and the PS Plus Collection are also discussed and Aadil gives us his review of Dune Sea. Aadil drinks the Cali Pale from Tiny Rebel and Beavertowns Bloody Ell. Ben took a trip to Good Chemistry Brewing as it is their 5th birthday, whoo! He drinks Morello Theory and the Rum-D.R.C collaboration with Arbor Ales.

On the show this week the beers are cracked and Lucy Gose to Hollywood with her first beer from To Øl, Aadil drinks Buxtons Ace Edge and Ben has Now We Are Here from Verdant. Games are discussed and Aadil leads with an update to Magic the Gathering Arena. Ben and Lucy have tried out Tetris Effect: Connected together and Lucy has fallen into Going Under. More beers are drunk with Lucy having Pressure Drops Show Me Something New and Ben and Aadil both having Cold Blooded from Siren. Ben finishes out the gaming chat with his thoughts on Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Asking the big questions every week Ben says Do we feel left out by not having the new consoles, Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5. Lucy is firmly in this gen still, having played Tetris Effect, South of the Circle and All For You. Whilst Aadil is on the cusp but using his PC to play The Falconeer. For beers this week Lucy has the one, drinking Cafe Creme from Arbor Ales. Aadil sticks with stouts, starting with The White Hags Dark Druid and finishing on the Salamander milk stout from Stu Mostow. Ben goes big again with the collaboration TIPA from North Brewing Co and Deya, then Boundary Brewing's You're Not Getting Any. Lucy has a week off the beers, Aadil drinks his remaining stocks and Ben drinks big. Aadil returns to the beer52 box to start, drinking the Festbier from ABK. Ben tucks into Apocalypse Dreams from Whiplash. We have a conversation on supporting independent brewers and shops and the changing beer scene with lockdown 2 looming. Lucy has finished Super Luckys Tale and Carto and gives her thoughts on Pacer from R8 Games. Aadil cracks a second beer, Left Handed Giants Plentiful Rains and Ben jumps the water to check out Adroit Theory with Evangelion XIII: Bardiel. Ben then chats October's PS Plus game Vampry and Aadil has been sat on a virtual plane in Airplane Mode.

We have a big three beer week this episode. Aadil and Ben delve into their Octoberfest Beer52 boxes whilst Lucy drinks some big beers. First, both Ben and Aadil drink the Dunkel from ABK whilst Lucy starts with a beer from Lidl, the Loch Lomond Brewery Lost in Mosaic. Aadil moves onto Berlin Jam from BRLO, Ben drinks Yankee & Kraut, Beer Garden by Night and Lucy has Whats Lager Without Lime from Naparbier. To finish Lucy has a Deya, with Something Good 9, Aadil sinks Weizen from Buro Brauerei and Ben has the Supadupa IPA from UberQuell Brauwerkstatten. For our topics, Aadil gives his thoughts on both Tenderfoot Tactics and Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure and Lucy has played a lot. She speaks to Super Lucky's Tale, Carto and a play with Google Stadia and Immortals Fenyx Rising. We finish with some quick takes on another Cyberpunk 2077 delay.

The games we have played this week do a good job of leading us down tangents, discussions on other games, working practises and even some Fast and the Furious. Lucy starts off with early thoughts on Disc Room and she has finished Cats Organized Neatly. Ben mentioned Virtual Cottage before a longer discussion on Family, a game on itch.io from Owl_Skip. After more beers are opened Ben talks Fall Guys Season 2, with discussions on Among US, Warewolf and Hades creeping in, to then finish out the episode chatting Media Molecules Dreams. To drink Lucy starts with Snake Island from Full Circle Brew Co then has Burning Soul's Bone Bender IPA. Aadil opens Business Casual from Good Chemistry Brewing and follows it with the Handshake Baltic Porter from Ollenaut. Ben experiments with two Brewdogs beers drinking the Ald IPA and Punk IPA.

We've all got beers and we've all played games. Aadil kicks off with his thoughts on The Solitaire Conspiracy. Ben has put some time into Star Wars Squadrons and Lucy has played both Cats Organized Neatly and I Am Dead. Ben drinks Saturated in Idaho 7 from Deya and Weird Beard's Armus Stout. Lucy starts with Neil Gets Things Done by Verdant Brewing and finish with the Ethiopian Cold Brew IPA from Overtone Brewing Co. Aadil was gifted a birthday beer and drinks the House IPA from Howling Hops then sees out the show with Massive IPA from Great South Bay Brewery.

We span the gaming spectrum on the show this week and jump between the US, UK and Germany for the beers. Aadil starts with his thoughts on Genshin Impact, which he streamed earlier in the day. Ben then provides a Crusader Kings 3 update and gives his initial impressions on The Solitaire Conspiracy. A slight detour sees us chat about Magic the Gathering and The Walking Dead's money-making schemes then Lucy finishes discussing a few smaller experiences in Hadr, Bonfire Peaks, A Monsters Expedition and Disc Room. To drink Aadil starts in the US with a Brown Ale from Newburg Brewing Company then jumps to Germany for a Spree Coast IPA from Brauerei Lemke. Ben begins in the UK with Good Chemistry Brewing's Pure Optimism then crosses the pond to have Dream Wave Inception from Equilibrium Brewery.
