Started off the show with Steve Carney amid this Minnesota hunting opener Saturday talking all things outdoors from the 2023 deer hunting opening weekend, pheasant hunting and fishing as well. Then we recap some of the Minnesota State High School League’s action from Friday and Saturday up to this point soccer, track and field, and more - we have you covered. Jeff Papas checks in from the UMD-Concordia game. Then we also provide you with the local Minnesota college football scores and update you on the college football action from around the country. 

It's a been a busy couple of days over at U.S. Bank Stadium and around the metro as we have the section and state tournaments for high school football, soccer, track and field beginning this weekend - Steve Thomson gives you all of the updates around the MSHSL. 

This morning marked the continuation of another traditional hunting opener around Minnesota so we chatted with our outdoor expert Steve Carney about the environment out there and everything he has seen so far today, even as an avid bowhunter. He also talks about pheasant hunting and fishing as well as he prepares for another busy week outdoors.

College football Saturday rolls on and we have updates from St. Johns, Gustavus, Bemidji State, UMD, and more plus we continue to look around the Top 25 college football scores around the country with Jonathan Lowe including Kansas upsetting #6 Oklahoma - we get producer Josh Wheeler’s thoughts as his Sooners fall on this Saturday.

We dive into some of the Minnesota Wild struggles as well. Also, we check in with Steve Carney who weathered the brutal weather we have had this week with wind, rain and more rain.

We started off another hour talking with the Gopher Guru, Daniel House about the dominating loss to Michigan, how the Gophers can bounce back during the bye week as we preview the upcoming game in Iowa, where the Gophers are looking to win there for the first time since 1999. Then we talk about the Minnesota Twins and breakdown what went wrong, especially the move to pull Joe Ryan after only two innings - was it the right move? That and more college football updates both locally and nationally from Jonathan Lowe and Chris Tubbs.

Then we talk to David Amitrano of Midwest All-Star Wrestling to preview an amazing event he and his team are putting on alongside Women of the Nations to help raise money against domestic violence and assault.

Big event coming up next month in Saint Paul as Midwest All-Star Wrestling is hosting alongside  Womens for the Nations Grand Slam 5 where 100% of the proceeds will be put towards the victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. We preview the event, the cause and some of the big names being featured on the card.

Tough loss for the Minnesota Twins as they fell in Game 1, 6-4 in Houston.  Steve Thomson in for Henry Lake alongside producer Josh Wheeler bringing you the recap of today’s action. We also took calls and texts from you in response to today’s loss. We mix in a brief look at the college football scoreboard.  Then we play back some of the highlights and preview Game Two tomorrow night in Houston with some of the postgame interviews with players and coaches following today's loss.

We then talked about Gophers-Michigan and the Loons parting ways with Adrian Heath, with Andy Greder, writer for both the Gophers and Loons for the Pioneer Press.
