Gone are the days it can be known as the Theatre of Dreams unless you can convince me Marcus Rashford always wanted to beat Villarreal in a Europa League final. Jokes aside, quite a serious podcast for you this week. I haven’t pressed record in over two weeks due to being in hospital (again), so I returned this morning on my own to discuss the latest protests and how I believe the Glazers are feeling the pressure. I take 20 minutes out to discuss some of the events over the past month and how Gary Neville has written to the Government asking for an independent football regulator to be introduced to the game. Manchester United defeated Granada 2-0 in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie in Spain on Thursday to put themselves in pole position for a place in the last four. Marcus Rashford raced on to a long ball by Victor Lindelof to fire United in front. Bruno Fernandes converted a late penalty after he was caught off the ball by Yan Eteki, leaving him with a bruised eye, but the Portuguese midfielder's spot-kick went through the hands of Rui Silva. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be without the suspended trio of captain Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay for the second leg at Old Trafford next week. The system failed against a tactically fluid Leicester side that were underestimated from the start. Strettycast episode 105 - Dale and Mike react to an important win against AC Milan at the San Siro. This episode was record before the draw took place for the quarter-finals, so we'll discuss that on Monday morning. Paul Pogba took the headlines after coming on as a half-time substitute, only to score the match-winner minutes later. He was superb in the middle and gave United a new lease of life. Having him back fit will be a huge bonus and our fingers are firmly crossed with hope he avoids injury or illness while away with the French squad next week. The lads are confident about going all the way in the Europa League this season after beating AC Milan, who after United were probably the best side left in the competition before we knocked them out. I don't think anyone calls it the David Moyes derby but we do. Manchester United got over the line against West Ham who came to Old Trafford to defend. The visitors sat back and welcomed pressure. It didn't work and as soon as they conceded an own goal they began to attack the Reds in numbers. West Ham deserved to lose the game given how they approached it from the start. It was dull and exactly what you'd expect of 90 minutes of football with Moyes. It was arguably one of Harry Maguire's best performances in the shirt despite Luke Shaw being rewarded as MOTM. Mason Greenwood didn't score but did everything else you would expect from a centre-forward. This is the start of a tricky week for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Manchester United have identified Juventus’ chief scout Matteo Tognozzi as a possible candidate to become the club’s sporting director, according to Stretty News reporter Leah Smith. Tognozzi became Juventus’ chief scout in 2017 following successful recruitment roles at Zenit St.Petersburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg. The highly-rated scout is regarded as one of Europe’s most pioneering recruitment specialists. Mike is busy this week and will return on Friday, so Dale was joined by Stretty News writer Philip. They discussed United being complacent against another side in the lower half of the Premier League table. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dismissed claims there's an attitude problem in the dressing room, but how else can we explain such complacency. These players are better than this and not long ago they were on a winning run that saw them at the top of the league. Solskjaer needs to get back to winning football matches again. Dale had the pleasure of being joined by Ben Thornley for a special interview this week. After shining amongst the Class of 92 and being tipped to become a regular in Sir Alex Ferguson's side, Thornley suffered a devastating injury against Blackburn Rovers.
