The BBC has recently been involved a number of controversies related to Israel. A documentary about Gaza was shelved after it was revealed that the 13-year-old narrator was the son of a Hamas deputy minister. Last month the BBC continued a live feed from the Glastonbury music festival after punk rapper Bob Vylan led chants of ‘Death to the IDF’ from the stage. Dr. Jacques Neriah, of the Middle East Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, and former deputy head of assessment for IDF military intelligence, said Israel’s warning to Syrian leader is that if you harm the Druze his regime would be in danger. He said that Israel’s actions were part of a new strategy to make the area of southern Syria demilitarized. Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara this week refused to attend a dismissal hearing called by a newly formed ministerial committee, writing earlier that government decision to change the firing method is illegal and driven by external and corrupt considerations. United Torah Judaism have quit the government in protest over the failure to introduce a bill enshrining the Haredi draft exemption. Knesset Member Ofer Cassif of the Hadash-Tal party blasted the move to impeach his party leader Ayman Odeh as populism and fascism. He told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that in principle, members of parliament should not have the right to act as judges against each other since they were all politically motivated and biased. Cassif himself was banned from the Knesset for 45 days after accusing the government shortly after October 7th 2023 of carrying out “ethnic cleansing” against Palestinians. Iranian missiles canceled the Port Chef Festival at the Tel Aviv Port, but the culinary event returns tonight and will last ten days with original dishes in collaboration between the port's restaurants and leading chefs from all across the country. The chefs will be preparing some 50 original dishes, some of them also available as take away for just 45 shekels. Some of the chefs include Uri “Buri” Jeremias, Michal Epstein and many more. A woman was killed and another critically injured in a shooting in Lod, as a crime wave in Arab society persists. Community leaders have blamed the government and police for neglect and failure to address the issue. Hillel Neuer, Executive Director of UN Watch, has called on other western democracies to join the US in imposing sanctions on UN Human Rights Council special rapporteur Francesca Albanese, an outspoken critic of Israel.
