Knesset Member Ofer Cassif of the Hadash-Tal party blasted the move to impeach his party leader Ayman Odeh as populism and fascism. He told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that in principle, members of parliament should not have the right to act as judges against each other since they were all politically motivated and biased. Cassif himself was banned from the Knesset for 45 days after accusing the government shortly after October 7th 2023 of carrying out “ethnic cleansing” against Palestinians.
