In this episode I talk about what I'm planting early in the season. Part of the early planting is the amazing weather we're having in Ohio, but also because I'm more confident to take a risk because of the experience and knowledge I've built over the years. I also talk about the drip irrigation system that we got setup over the weekend and how it'll be such a game changer - saving water, time, money, and ultimately producing healthier plants. This will also be assisted by the Chapin Hydrofeed fertigation system that will be setup with the drip line. So pumped to get this garden on the gains train

In this episode I dive into the challenges I've had with seed starting this year and what I would do differently in the future. I also talk about the different styles of plug trays I'm testing out, fertilizers I'm using for seedlings, and plans for the CSA this year. Lately I've been obsessed with Time - how do I make the most of the time I'm given? What can I do to find more time? I think there's a ton of time we can steal back from time suckers like complaining, debating taking action, and doing busy work. I think it's also important to realize that it's not simply about the quantity of time - QUALITY is the ultimate benchmark ⏳

My garden has mostly been functional but this year I'm focusing on creativity and aesthetics - in the garden & online. In this episode I start talking about creativity, art, and some updates on my seedlings growing vertically in the grow rack I have set up with LED grow lights. Towards the second half I start talking about being real and how thats the most important thing, not followers, likes, or vanity metrics. The beautiful thing about social media is that it allows you to connect with people on a deeper level - it isn't the amount of followers you have, but the quality of the relationships you cultivate and the positive impact you can have by simply being yourself and sharing your truths with the world

So it looks like my last few podcasts have been cut short due to a bug with Anchor (I'm guessing because it was only when I recorded within the app), but here's a full-length podcast talking about the issue and what I began talking about in the past 2 podcasts. Some people are constantly selling, everything is "buy this" "read this" "do this thing for me" - and on the other end of the spectrum, some people can never ask for the sale. I fall into the "not being able to ask" category, but I think I have been slowly getting better. When I first saw Facebook's Portal I was pretty cynical about it. But my feelings have changed as I have travelled on this vlogging journey from filming to editing, and simply realizing the vast amount of time and effort that is spent on the whole process - that's when I realized that Facebook Portal was the answer to that creative conundrum. In this podcast I rant about how the Portal needs to be modified and marketed, but I go down some really interesting paths about how the Portal is only the beginning of pulling people further into the Facebook platform & ecosystem of companies it owns like WhatsApp, Instagram, Marketplace. In honor of National CSA Day, I did a podcast with another local grower, Tori Bruns who runs Mustard Seed Farm Market in McCartyville, OH. She's growing on a much larger scale than I am with 2 high tunnels, an acre of sweet corn, and an acre of pumpkins. In this episode we dive into her origin story & how she got started farming, what a CSA is, what we're currently growing, and a ton of other stuff about growing fruits & vegetables and our plans for the year. Today is National CSA Day because it is the last Friday of the month of February. That's usually the time that people are finalizing their CSA customer list so that they can plan what to grow for the coming season.
