Welcome to the real world!  We're unplugging (or plugging in?) and going back to 1999 (again) to analyze arguably the most influential movie of that year, The Matrix!  We dive into our philosophical understanding of the Wachowskis' future.  Later, we dive into the influences on The Matrix and how it has left it's mark on cinema as we know it.  And finally, we wrap it all up with our Top 5 slow motion scenes. 

This week we review Olivia Wilde's directorial debut film Booksmart, starring Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein!  Then we wrap it all up with our Top 5 Female Friendships.  

It's taken a while, but we've finally reviewed Jonathan Levine's political romantic comedy Long Shot (2:25).  Then, we interview director Andrew Gibson about his new film Gutterbug (25:00) and finally wrap it up with our Top 5 Underdogs (51:30).  

We're going back to 1999!  And a galaxy far, far away this week with George Lucas' dreaded prequel The Phantom Menace!  We take a look at the film's influence and Lucas' return to directing after a 20 year absence.  And then we wrap it all up with our Top 5 Films we're embarrassed we own. 

It's FINALLY here!  We've been waiting for this one for a while, one of our favorites of all time, the Paul Thomas Anderson retrospective.  We count down his 8 amazing films and give out our Fixies for performances, screenplay and cinematography.  It's a long one but a good one.  

Back in time again we go to 1999, possibly the greatest year in cinema history, with Michael Mann's The Insider.  The highly acclaimed and Oscar-nominated film is a favorite for us three, but never have we discussed it in as much detail as we do here.  And for our Top 5 this week (41:30), we list our Top 5 films with two great performances and we vote on the best!
