The attitudes and spirit that reflect Christ are contrary to the norms of our culture.

Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God.”

The inner work of God is becoming evidential in mercy. Matthew 5:7

Blessed are those that hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

“Blessed are the meek, for the they will inherit the earth.”

If being poor in spirit is the starting point of a bona fide faith then, then mournful regret is the first step of transformation. Matthew 5:4

Review: • Do not be snookered. Find true faith, a bona fide faith. • The standard of righteousness by the religious leaders of their day will not lead someone to the Kingdom of Heaven. Must rise above the outer impression and begin at the heart.

Repentance and sincere faith

The gospels give us four accounts of the life of Christ

Luke 2:14, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Luke 2:9 “An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified.” What does this mean that the glory of the Lord shone around them and it was terrifying?
