What are some of the “signs of the end times” in which we’re living? 

We live in lawless, dangerous times when spiritual darkness is covering whole the world. However, the Bible tells us that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood.” When Jesus is Lord of our life, then “we are more than conquerors!”

 Where do you go to pray in private? If you have a specific place, how has it become your holy place? Has a daily prayer time become your habitual pattern? If you struggle with consistently meeting in private with the Lord, what is hindering you? What can you do to overcome these obstacles?

The USA has one of the highest divorce rates in the world. In fact, people work much harder in the preparations of getting married, than on staying married. God has a lot to say about weathering marital storms. We would do well to obey our all-wise Heavenly Father and fight for our marriages.

There is not a formula handbook on marriage relationships. However, there are basic guidelines within the Word of God, and if we’ll obey, then the Holy Spirit helps you know how to live in them.

Have you suffered a deep hurt that is still affecting you today? How have you dealt with it so far? How has rehearsing the wrong in your mind affected your pain? What stops you from forgiving? What steps can you take to begin the process?

Our nation is suffering from uncertainty, angst, conflict, and distrust. If ever we needed to rely on the Scripture, it’s today. Such times should lead us to cry out to God, asking Him for the wisdom, courage, and obedience to do what’s right.

 What is the most powerful temptation you are facing today? How are you dealing with it? Which areas in your life are easy targets for the evil one? What will you do to defend yourself against his attacks in these vulnerable spots? What can you do beforehand to strengthen your resolve to resist?

What are the areas of temptation wherein you struggle most? In the past, what has been your strategy for dealing with these enticements? How would using God’s Word as a defense prevent you from entertaining the devil’s suggestions and yielding to them?

 Prayer is not a monologue where we do all the talking. Genuine prayer is a two-way conversation with the God who wants to speak with us.

Does your perception of God and Jesus match biblical descriptions, or have you made a ‘god’ of your own imagination and liking? What will you do with the truth about Jesus? What is at stake if you reject it? What is in store for you if you believe it?

 Is there a specific part of life where you lack self-control? Perhaps it’s in finances, moral issues, relationships, habits, gossip, or attitudes. Why is it so difficult for you to surrender any of these to the Lord?

In order to determine if prayer is a priority, ask yourself: How often do I pray? How confident are you that the Lord will answer your requests? What does God’s Word say about His faithfulness in answering prayer? What do you think would happen if, instead of moaning and complaining, you approached God with a thankful heart?
