The disciples began to argue and became “preoccupied” with who would be the greatest among them. JESUS SEES ALL THIS. HE TAKES A CHILD. HE SETS THE CHILD IN THE MIDDLE OF THEM BEFORE HE SPEAKS. The Lord is really serious about how we lead children, and about the example that we are to them. He wants them trained up in THE WAY. We must not dismiss the little ones. The Conscience is a foundational way that God speaks to us and guides us. "Conscience" is an internal self knowledge of right and wrong, good and evil. Every decision is processed through the conscience that bears witness to the existence of God. It is in the conscience that you feel either conviction or condemnation. It is the conscience in which discernment is developed, which must be sanctified and submitted to the truth of God's Word by the renewing of your mind by the guidance of Holy Spirit. When you deny the internal witness of God, it creates turmoil and conflict in the soul that you then have to find a way to fill and treat the pain. Are we satisfied with a "passing by" relationship with God? Or are we constraining Him to Abide? God's not satisfied with a passing by relationship with you. He wants to remain with you. There are only TWO WAYS! God's Way and NOT God's Way. God's Way leads to strength. God's Presence gives us rest. Not God's Way leads to destruction. There is NO 3rd Way. Don't be fooled, thinking there is a third way. Moses asked God to show him His Way so that he would know God. Because being in His Presence was his greatest desire and primary goal. How do we know, if we know God? If we know God's Way, and keep His commandments. We are telling ourselves a lie, if we believe we can know God outside of keeping His Way. We have a holy responsibility to steward and maintain the flame of God that He's given us. God wants the fire of Holy Spirit to be a continual, perpetual flame, and He is saying - If you will just step over the line into that place of unpredictable, surprising Pentecost - I'll amaze you, and I'll cause your flame to blaze. We are all looking, searching for something. It's in our heart to search. In the process, we can turn to the counterfeit and unholy things to fill us up, when really, the only thing that can and needs to fill our emptiness is the presence of the living God through Jesus Christ. The life of Jesus was filled with healing, caring for the poor, and feeding the hungry. Jesus even sat with sinners, and time after time, the sinner's lives were changed forever. The gifts of the spirit are just as alive today, as they were in the time of Jesus, available for us to continue the ministry of Jesus. ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’ What if being known by God was all that mattered? In the end, it's all that will matter. God loves everyone the same. God does not have the same relationship with everyone. Not everyone who says, "Lord, Lord!" has made God Lord, and are living and walking in His Way. Jesus is the Way. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus. When I'm not walking His Way, I'm walking in darkness, and will experience unnecessary pain. Does God know you? WHY are we coming to the tabernacle? Are we coming to seek the Lord, or are we coming to check a box? There is a difference. We've created tabernacles of meetings called churches - the original purpose of the Tabernacle of Meeting was to be a dwelling place, a habitation at a particular time for a purpose designated by an authority. A place for people to encounter God, but became a place for people to meet people and merely talk about God. Who's the authority that designates the purpose for why we gather? NOT US! Hopelessness is a result of discouragement unchecked that develops into depression. Depression has moved in and settled into people in record numbers. According to the World Health Organization an estimated 3.8% of the entire population experience depression. Approximately 280,000,000 people in the world have some form of depression. We need HOPE in our lives! The world needs HOPE!
