In order to live wisely in life and take responsibility for ourselves, we need to accept this law and stop taking responsibility for the consequences of others. We often try to “tell” people things and they resent us for it. (Proverbs 9:8). They would learn far more quickly by simply experiencing their own consequences. For that to happen, we must stop “paying” their consequences. We all know what it’s like to live “Stuck” or “boxed in”. We often feel like everyone else is in control. Some days we even feel like God is against us.  Very much like ancient Israel, we have felt as though we were scratching out a living among the rubble of our own dreams. It doesn’t need to be that way. We can learn to take responsibility for the right things and release control of the wrong things. Life is so much more than just getting by.  We need to help each other and we often need help from others. If we don’t have clear lines drawn to protect us from hurtful and abusive people, we will find ourselves in the shoes of the two men who did nothing. Your Vocation or Career is a Blessing. It is a blessing you get to use to bless the world! Are you a doctor, lawyer, teacher, plumber, mechanic, or roughneck? Whatever you are, you are for Jesus. And, it is a blessing. It is a gift that was given to you.

We often believe that a “blessed” life is trouble-free, peaceful and successful. What if a “blessed” life is really about obedience to Jesus and struggles against evil?

Change takes more than hard work. It takes God-powered people who are filled with God’s Love. Those who are willing to pray until they’ve got something say! People who are willing to go and even willing to be misunderstood. These are the kind who will change the World.

We are here to do what is right. We do what is right no matter the difficulty.  We don’t need others to understand. We don’t need others to approve.
