The main focus of the nearly two hour chat is on what went wrong for Saints this season and how Mark Hughes managed to turn around Saints fortunes in the short period of time and get Saints over the line. We also get a chance to reflect on the moments, players, heroes and villains of the season with the Saints FC Podcast awards.

Saints FC Podcast are lucky enough to be invited by Scott Charlton to 'An Evening With' Matt Le Tissier at Revolution in Southampton. We recorded the Q&A session as Saints fans got to ask questions of one of the greatest football players of a generation and Southampton hero! They say never to meet your heroes. There's no such danger with Matt Le Tissier though, the guy is charming, funny and has great stories to tell about football.

John and Tom are joined by Duncan Alexander, author of Outside the Box and the brains behind Opta Joe. We reflect on Pellegrino's sacking as manager of Southampton and have a look at what our chances are of surviving relegation. Duncan has some surprising statistics for us from his work at Opta, ranging from how Saints are an outlier in terms of performance in the Premier League right that way through to proof of Francis Benali being a lunatic!

The Saints FC Podcast is once again on the phone with a former Southampton great. This time its the 1997-98 Player of the Season and goalkeeper with over 200 appearances and 50 clean sheets for Southampton - Paul Jones. Jones was a Welsh international for 9 years, even beating Ryan Giggs' monopoly on the Welsh player of the season on one occasion!

John Bailey and Tom Parker meet up for another episode of the Saints FC Podcast. The draws against Watford and Tottenham come under scrutiny, as does Pellegrino (again), his in game management, surrendering points from winning positions and the lack of activity in the transfer window. We go through a lot of listner correspondence, have a closer look at Michael Obafemi, Saints 17 year old debutant, and have a look forward to the games against Watford in the FA Cup and Bighton at home in the league.

John and Tom are back to review Saints last three fixtures, including the honourable draw at Old Trafford, the disappointing loss at home to Crystal Palace and the 3rd round FA Cup win against Fulham. Is Pellegrino better against the big sides than against the sides we should be beating, how have we lost another must-win game at home, and are we harsh to say that the win against Fulham was unconvincing?

John is lucky enough to get a chance to speak to Saints legend Michael Svensson about his time at Saints, getting to the 2003 FA Cup final, playing for Gordon Strachan and a whole host of other topics as we discus his career. Saints try and ruin the Christmas spirit with a disappointing run of fixtures, where losses to Leicester and Chelsea is followed by a failure to take three points at home vs. Huddersfield. John is on the Isle of Wight staying with the outlaws, fortunately Mike (John's father in law) is a Southampton fan as well, so is able to step into Tom's shoes and discuss Saints form over three disappointing fixtures.

Episode 21 of the Saints FC Podcast covers the last five Southampton Premier League games, from the abysmal loss at Anfield, to the many reasons to be cheerful and hopeful from the games against Everton, Man City, Bournemouth and Arsenal. Pellegrino is finally working out how to make Saints tick, showing some tactical nous, and players like Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, Jack Stephens and Charlie Austin get their season going.

The Saints FC Podcast were invited to Southampton's Staplewood Training Ground in Marchwood, Southampton, where a 'UK Media XI' including John from the podcast were playing against a Mauricio Pellegrino XI - made up from coaching staff, ex-players and staff from around Southampton FC.

John catches up with former Saints captain Dean Hammond, who led Southampton on the field through three fantastic seasons that saw Saints win the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, and secure back to back promotions from League 1 to the Premier League.
