We examined a three pillar plan for achieving mental wellness, and wished Coco Gauff mental stability as she headed into the US Open as an African American Teen. Spoiler Alert: She did the damn thing the following day becoming the 4th American Female Teen to win a major, 3rd at the US Open, and 1st since Serena Williams did it in the early 2000’s. Congratulations CoCo! We’re extremely proud of you! Afterthought, we compared Coco to Sha’Carri Richardson who overcame adversity to win the 100m dash at the World Championships in Budapest. In a related case the Proud Boys leaders are facing heavy charges for their participation in the January 6th insurrection. The Shade Room got called out for being right leaning for jaded reporting of Biden’s reaction to the Maui fires. Arkansas is following Florida’s lead by banning the AP African American Studies course claiming that it promotes CRT and is Un-American, but Florida upped the ante by approving right leaning propaganda from PragerU for the classroom in its place. On this episode: A special guest visited us fresh from her first session in the Missouri General Assembly, Representative Jamie Johnson. We discussed some examples and non-examples of the type of leadership we expect from her for the good people of Platte County. Unfortunately we also discussed 16 year old Ralph Yarl from a neighboring county in our community who was shot in the head for accidentally ringing the wrong doorbell. In a similar story, cheerleader Payton Washington was shot in the Houston area for accidentally getting in the wrong car. Twenty year old Kaylin Gillis was shot and killed for pulling into the wrong driveway. An inmate was eaten to death by bed bugs.
