  • The first (of many) college basketball shows this season

    13/01/2025 Duración: 01h21min

A wise man once said 'how can you know where you're going if you don't know where you're from'. Today's episode - our first college hoops show of the season - is where we're from, and for the next three months (as the season plays out, culminating with the Final Four in San Antonio) is where we're going. So who better to assist with the ride than our in-house hoops insider Matt Norlander from CBS Sports, who joins Hartzell for 80 minutes of (mostly) basketball dialogue. We're coming off a monster weekend of hoops, highlighted by Cooper Flagg dropping 42 and making ACC freshman history in the process, Auburn might be without their best player - and NPOY front-runner (according to Norlander) - for a couple of weeks, plus lots of talk on the mighty SEC which is having a staggering hoops season in terms of quality - and quantity. Don't worry the football shows aren't over yet, but we got plenty to discuss in the inaugural college basketball show of the season, plus the first 'Now Spinning' of the new year for all

  • Best set of games all year (so far!) | Gauer Hour

    10/01/2025 Duración: 59min

What a Thursday of games! LSU-Tennessee was maybe the best game all year, Mississippi State notches a top-10 win over Oklahoma and two very different-looking ACC games go to overtime. Not to mention, USC-Maryland was a thriller on Wednesday, and South Carolina-Texas comes on Sunday! Rob and Megan hit on all of those games and more, plus they have a great chat with Lulu Kesin of The Greenville News to talk about the impact of Ashlyn Watkins' injury on South Carolina and get her thoughts on the team as a whole.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • The Definitive CFP Semifinal Preview

    07/01/2025 Duración: 01h25min

We got CFP games coming back into our lives on Thursday and Friday night, so let's get the gang back together to break these down. The squad is assembled; Roddy Jones, Wayne Cook, Hartzell, and the Doc join forces to run through the Orange Bowl & Cotton Bowl. We head to Texas to bring in Craig Way, the Voice of the Longhorns, to give us some local perspective on Texas' chances as an underdog against mighty Ohio State on Friday. Could we be in line for the first real upset of this year's playoff? Roddy is calling the Orange Bowl for national radio, so he gives us a full breakdown of what to expect in the rock fight we all expect between Notre Dame and Penn State. Plus the guys make some picks and predictions to close out the show.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • And then there were four

    03/01/2025 Duración: 01h35min

CFP Quarterfinals are in the books and we're going to talk about them. Wayne and Felder join Hartzell (no Roddy because he's nursing a sore throat) to recap the four games that got us here. Full recaps of the Sugar, Rose, Peach, and Fiesta bowls, plus what it means moving forward in the semis. Obviously Ohio State is the team to beat, but what do the guys make of Texas' escape vs ASU? There are some members of the show that believe Notre Dame has the best QB left in the tournament, which is a take. What do the losses for Georgia and Oregon say about those two programs; bump in the road or harbinger of things to come? Why did all four teams that had byes lose, and what does that say about the future CFP models? Plenty to discuss as we ring in the new year on the first CSN of 2025!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Another foul was just called in Texas-OU | Gauer Hour

    03/01/2025 Duración: 52min

Do you like fouls? Then you probably loved Texas-Oklahoma. Rob Joyce and Megan Gauer ring in the New Year by recapping the Longhorns' win, talking USC's improved form, and hitting on Maryland now that they've played someone worth talking about with the Michigan State victory. Then we hand out some conference superlatives and preview a massive week upcoming across the country, with games on games on games.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • The Definitive CFP Quarterfinal Preview

    30/12/2024 Duración: 01h36min

The final show of 2024 with the fellas. Felder, Wayne, Hartzell, and the Doc huddle up to run through the CFP Quarterfinal games over New Year's. To start, there are takes on Jim Mora running his mouth, Jayden Daniels vs Michael Penix, and the 'good old days' of bowl season, but there is also real, actual, football talk. The guys rank the 8 starting quarterbacks still alive in the playoff, and you might be surprised who some of the guys think is at the bottom of the list. What's the path to Boise or ASU pulling off a monster upset, and which of those two teams is more likely to shake up the bracket? Will either team in the Sugar Bowl eclipse 20 points? Would an Oregon blow out - however unlikely - mean the end for Ryan Day? All that and a whole lot more covered over a 90-minute end-of-the-year edition of CSN. Happy New Years, everybody!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Post-Christmas, Pre-NYE Felder Friday

    27/12/2024 Duración: 01h06min

Let's be honest, we're all exhausted. Christmas is over, but it's not quite New Year's Eve, either. Everything is a blur and things are hazy. Life feels confusing. The only way you actually know it's Friday is because Michael Felder is talking ball with us here on CSN. The Doc and Hartzell are alongside for an hour of CFP reaction, previews of next week's quarterfinals, and an overall health and wellness check - on each other, but also the sport of college football. How many teams, of the eight remaining, does Felder actually think can win a natty? The answer might be a lot smaller than you think. Tripp has PTSD from the Gasparilla Bowl so he's trigger shy on the picks, and Hartzell has takes on the Birmingham Bowl. Happy Holidays, everybody!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • CFP Reaction Show with Roddy & Wayne

    24/12/2024 Duración: 01h32min

It's Christmas Eve but the takes must be released. Roddy Jones and Wayne Cook join Hartzell to run through all of the CFP 1st round reactions, including some well-balanced, reasoned takes on why we had 4 lopsided games over the weekend. Blowouts happen, you know. It's college sports. What did Roddy make of seeing Penn State up close and personal on Saturday? Are the Nittany Lions championship-level? Will Wayne be on-hand at the Rose Bowl to take in Dillon Gabriel's feet with his own eyes? A look back at the games that were, and a peek ahead to the quarterfinal matchups that start on New Year's Eve. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays, everybody!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

You knew it was coming. Part deux of the CSN CFP preview features Michael Felder & Wayne Cook along with Hartzell and the Doc to run through the first-round games that start with Friday night lights in South Bend. The guys run through all four games this weekend and break down the matchups; Who would you rather have, Klubnik or Ewers? Which head coach not named Ryan Day has the most pressure on them to win? Do we trust Penn State to do the thing? You'll be surprised to know who the consensus upset pick was, but stick around for picks at the end of the show PLUS a mental health check on the whole gang since we're **checks notes** five days out from Christmas. Land the plane, boys. Land the plane.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Wayne finally gets his day

    11/12/2024 Duración: 01h18min

Truly an historic day on CSN - as longtime listeners can attest to - because Wayne Cook has been pleading with the powers that be to expand the playoff for, well, forever. Today is finally his day. The field is set, we've got dozen teams with a shot at the national championship, and life is good, right? Wayne gets to tell us all how he feels about the CFP and whether the Committee did the right thing or not. Special guest Michael Surber stops by at the half-hour mark to talk about Clemson and the roller coaster ride that was Saturday night's ACC Championship. How does Surber feel about the Tigers' chances in Austin in the first round? We discuss that and much more with one of our longtime friends of the program.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Print those brackets, baby

    10/12/2024 Duración: 01h31min

Don't be afraid to wear out that office toner cartridge, we got football brackets for the first time ever, it's a celebration. Roddy Jones joins Hartzell and the Doc to the run through the 12-team field. Thoughts and reactions to what we saw over Championship Weekend with some highly entertaining games in the ACC and B1G (plus whatever that thing was in the SEC). The fellas disagree on the future on conference championship games, but we embrace the debate here on CSN. Who has the best path to the natty? Who has the most question marks? Where do the guys think the most lopsided game of the first round is going to be? Lots to cover for a CFP reaction show the likes of which we've never done (because there's never been 12 teams), so turn us up and let's talk ball!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Gauer Hour - SEC/ACC Challenge recap & more top-10 games

    06/12/2024 Duración: 54min

A loaded Thursday slate in the SEC/ACC Challenge featured two overtime games (Notre Dame had quite the up-and-down week) and South Carolina doing South Carolina things to a top-10 team. Plus, the release of the NET rankings gives hope to some sneaky power schools and mid-majors alike (bad week for the #3BidA10 movement though). And we have more top-10 showdowns in TCU-South Carolina and Notre Dame-UConn. Megan Gauer and Rob Joyce break it all down on the latest Gauer Hour!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Felder Friday - Championship Week

    05/12/2024 Duración: 01h19min

That's right kids, regular season is over and that means there's only 9 FBS games on deck this weekend. Who better to break them down than Felder, who comes correct with his weekly dose of Felder Five and some National Signing Day sprinkled in as well. Shehan Jeyarajah from CBS Sports enters the chat to talk Big 12 Championship and CFP at large with the fellas. Shehan thinks SMU is in even with a loss against Clemson, which sounds risky, but who knows that this Committee is going to do come Sunday at high noon when the bracket gets filled out. And oh hey, look who joins the show over an our late to give lukewarm takes? Somebody call a Doctor?See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • The bracket is almost ready to print

    04/12/2024 Duración: 01h44min

It's hard enough doing a show with Wayne Cook and keeping our boy focused. It's even harder when you're taping as the CFP rankings are literally coming down the line, but nonetheless, we press on. Immediate reaction to the rankings and who stands to benefit the most from the upcoming Championship Weekend slate of games Friday and Saturday. Lots of Hartzell and Wayno disagreements in the first half hour of the show before Phil Steele joins the party to run through his picks for all 9 FBS games this weekend. Then Phil signs off and the fellas get back to arguing. The last 10 minutes of the show Wayne schools Hartzell on the art of sideline reporting, since he'll be at the SEC Championship while Wayne watches on TV and tries to figure out what pants Hartzell's wearing. No, really.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Plant your flag right here

    03/12/2024 Duración: 01h49min

Coming off a monster rivalry weekend full of games, we get the gang together to unpack it all. Roddy Jones joins Hartzell and the Doc to talk about the GT/Georgia 8OT game, and the combined ripple effects that game had - along with Miami and Clemson losing - on the ACC's dream of a being a multi-bid league. Nicole Auerbach from NBC Sports joins the show to discuss Michigan/Ohio State and the Big Ten at large. Nicole has questions for the Playoff Committee that need answers but we'll probably not get them (because transparency isn't something that they do well). The Doc is still butthurt about FSU, he unsuccessfully tries to hijack the show multiple times, and of course we get some picks from Rodstra on our way out the door.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Gauer Hour 11/29/24 - Feastin' on Feast Week

Digest all those calories with some hoops talk! Rob Joyce and Megan Gauer recap a busy Feast Week: the massive wins by Notre Dame and UCLA, South Carolina's response against Iowa State (poor Cyclones), and some lesser-heralded victories by the likes of Georgia Tech, Michigan State and Harvard. Then we preview next week's ACC/SEC Challenge, with a LOADED Thursday slate, including South Carolina vs Duke and Notre Dame vs Texas.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
