Angler Qwest Podcast

We're heading to Northern Michigan this month on the Angler Qwest Podcast as we talk with Fishing Guide and Charter Captain Jim Chamberlain. Fish With Jim Outfitters targets a variety of species on several  bodies of water including Grand Traverse Bay...plus Torch, Higgins and Mullett lakes.   Chamberlain describes his technique for catching ciscoes, lake trout and salmon in those waters with his 824 Pro Troll. He also says that new Angler Qwest is the perfect boat to keep his clients comfortable and safe on the water.  

Angler Qwest Product Manager Brad Dupuie is our guest this month the podcast. Brad is the guy behind the Angler Qwest concept.  He designed that first prototype boat and continues to tweak and improve the models today. Dupuie is also an avid angler Saginaw Bay walleye angler who spends lots of time there at the helm of an Angler Qwest. Brad describes his trolling tactics for walleye and how he uses jet divers and spoons in deep water, but switches over to crank baits in shallow. He also talks about how the Angler Qwest "rocket launcher" rod holders are perfect for running multiple lines and storing those rods out of the way when not in use. The discussion also turns to the huge demand for AQ boats right now and how Covid will impact the upcoming dealer meetings. This time on the Angler Qwest Podcast, we're talking with a long time Saginaw Bay angler who is fairly new to the AQ family. Andy Gorske is third generation in the popular Frank's Great Outdoors store in Linwood. He talks about how Franks got started and the challenge of dealing with the recent coronavirus shut down. He also discusses his tactics for Saginaw Bay walleye and why he favors crankbaits and spoons over crawlers. Gorske then tells us why he bought an Angler Qwest and why he feels it's the perfect family fishing machine.

Dan Jordan of Team Anglerfish is our guest this month on the Angler Qwest podcast. Dan is a hard core angler show spends more than 250 days each year on the water aboard his Pro Fish. We talk about the exceptional spring king salmon fishery on Lake Michigan, tournament walleye fishing from an Angler Qwest, what makes a good fishermen....and lots more. We're heading to southern Lake Michigan this month on the Angler Qwest Podcast. Captain Mike Schoonveld talks about the early season coho action on that part of the lake. He says the action is hot...with quick, limit catches on most days. Mike has advice on where to find the fish and how to catch them. He also talks about his experience with Angler Qwest Boats and why he's convinced they're a great option for Lake Michigan salmon angler.

We're heading to warm weather this time on the Angler Qwest Podcast with South Carolina charter captain Mike Gault. Mike owns Time 2 Fish Charters on Lake Murray.  He specializes in stripers, catfish and crappies. The retired Conservation Officer talks about the winter fishery for striped bass and how they troll live bait for big fish. Mike also describes why his Angler Qwest 824 Striper is the perfect rig for his style of fishing.

We're wrapping up the north country open water fishing season this month on the Angler Qwest podcast. Boat designer and avid angler Brad Dupuie talks about getting in some time on the water before it freezes up for the winter. Dupuie recently had the chance to fish that river from an Angler Qwest 822 Pro Fish model.  He says the boat handled the current and wind beautifully Then the conversation turns to southern Lake Michigan where Brad has been chasing salmon and trout. Brad says the 826 Pro Troll Deluxe is a wonderful platform for fishing that big water. He also has great advice on targeting early season coho, steelhead and king salmon.
