The rest of us, however, felt like this was a dull, convoluted, forgettable mess of a movie that has no business being labeled a thriller. What are your thoughts?

We've been gone for a while since we are unable to meet up due to Covid-19, but we are back. We got together via Zoom to catch up on what we've been watching these last few weeks. Our Score - 8.17/10 (B+)     Rotten Tomatoes - 92%     IMDB - 7.4/10 Chosen By: Steve Rushlau Shane Black isn't without his disappointments (see The Predator), but when he is at the top of his game, few people can match his combination of wit and storytelling. The Nice Guys is him in peak form, and great performances from Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe are icing on the cake.

Director Martin Campbell (Goldeneye, Casino Royale) and stars Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan are all fantastic, but the story fails to find its footing leaving the movie feeling uninspired and lifeless. Our Score - 6.25/10 (C)     Rotten Tomatoes - 86%     IMDB - 7.3/10 Chosen By: Matt McNeal John Carpenter brings his typical efficient storytelling style to this cult classic action/science fiction movie that blends a smart premise with shallow dialogue and loads of violence. Fans of Carpenter, Roddy Piper, and old school action movies will find plenty to like. Others might come out disappointed at the lost potential of the incredible themes that are left unexplored. Our Score - 8.34/10 (B+)     Rotten Tomatoes - 77%     IMDB - 7.4/10 Chosen By: Shane Cronican Doctor Sleep is a wonderful adaptation that respects both the source material and the movie it follows, blending those two works into an interesting and well made movie. In our opinion, this ranks near the top of the best Stephen King adaptations.
